Chapter 5: Chapter 5

-Late is Sometimes Good-

I hurriedly walked inside the campus with my shoulder bag and books held on my chest. I am still on the state of heaven for what happened between me and Kalel yesterday. It was like a dream come true for someone like me who were only observing Kalel for such a long time.

I didn’t get enough sleep as I was overthinking things too much. Kalel was completely stuck on my mind the entire night. I even completely forgot that I had to get up early and be ready for school.

I had checked my wrist watch. It’s already late, Ms. Castro would definitely kill me this time.

“God, I will be late for the first time.” I almost shouted in frustration while trying to catch m breath. “Sir Bob, please don’t close the gate. I’m still here.” I screamed while trying to run towards the school gate.

“You’re quite late today? You were usually early.”

“I have overslept, that’s why I’m suffering the consequences now.” I told him while panting trying to catch air.

“Bye Sir Bob, I’ll be late now.” I waved at him and quickly run as much as I could. When I am in front of my room. I took a deep breath and had to make a prayer first that Ms. Castro is not yet inside. Why are we having so many terror teachers this year. As if Ms. Velasco isn’t enough already.

I was really hoping deep inside that the class hasn’t started yet. But as I was about to make my goodluck prayer, I could already hear Ms. Castro’s loud and baritone voice scolding my classmates. My knees were really trembling and hesitant to go inside.

“Almira, come inside.” Rhea waved at me secretly when she noticed I was standing nervously outside.

“Are you insane? Ms. Castro is inside.” I silently murmured pointing my lips to Ms. Castro who is now busily writing on the chalkboard.

“Just come inside while Ms. Castro isn’t looking.”

I nodded and carefully crawl to the floor just so I could get inside without Ms. Castro noticing or seeing me. I was about to take my seat when my bag dropped to the floor and had to make a sound. Ms. Castro quickly looked at where I am and had her eyes glaring. Her forehead became one fine line, madly looking at me.

“Ms. Almira, why were you late for my class.” Her eyes widens and both hands on its waits.

“Ma’am I am really sorry.” I tried to explain.

“Get out! You didn’t even bother to attend my class yesterday and now you were late? Get out.” I think my face just drops to the floor. I was really trying my best not to get caught by I ended up making it worst. I had humiliated myself early in the morning.

I just quickly got out from the room and had to suffer the consequences outside. I had to carry the books I have right now and I’ll have to do it on my both hands and head.

I was standing there for how many minutes, when Kalel suddenly passes by. He is wearing his badminton jersey while carrying a racket. He stopped as he noticed me standing on the corridor. He is dripping with sweat but his nice and sweet scent were still lingering through the air.

“Are you okay?” he worriedly asked.

“Uh, y-yeah I am.” I nervously answered trying to hide my face from my long hair. It was really an embarrassing moment for me. And him seeing me like this, I just wanted to get swallowed by the ground.

“You can do it. I know you can.” Kalel smiled. I just wanted this day to end right now. It’s totally embarrassing.

My cheeks became redder when he touches my face and smiled. I felt that I could hear all of the birds around me chirping. Like his smile was the only thing visible in my eyes.

“I think I will have to give you more support.” He wasn’t so sure of what he really meant but the next thing that he did confirmed it.

Kalel kissed her. He kissed her on her cheeks.

“Goodluck.” Kalel painted an amusing smile then quickly evaporated from the place.

What did just happen? Did he really get kissed, by no other than, Kalel Rodriguez?
