Chapter 272: Chapter 272. Sneaking in the gate (1)

After the baron and the baroness kept getting angry at him for hiding something like this,

Theo was finally able to get out of the office when the baron had to write some urgent letters.

"The baroness got angry at me too because of you, young master," Clara spoke while whining. "It was so scary."

"You got told off for just a few seconds, while look at me." Theo spoke and showed the one side of his face that was red.

When Clara saw that, she couldn’t help but laugh a little only to stop so she wouldn’t disrespect him.

But it was too late, Theo started laughing because of her too, making the corridors resound with laughter.

"You’re awfully quiet, Elias. Everything okay?" Theo asked when he finally laid on his bed.

Elias took a deep breath and looked at Theo. "Yes... I am still recovering from the Lord’s aura that leaked..." he spoke.

Theo nodded; it was really out of control this time. If the baroness hadn’t stopped him in time, Theo was sure he would have been unconscious.

"Just think about this, if just my father’s aura was able to make us this vulnerable, what would that Primordial beast have done if it finally had the permission?" Theo asked, making both Clara and Elias fall into deep thought.

While they were thinking, Theo’s mind was elsewhere. He thought of it for just a little time before continuing, "Elias, Clara, make sure you tell your family before we leave in 2 days."

"...I know they will be very worried for you. We don’t even know how long it will be before we return." Theo spoke again, "But you can assure them that we have the best people with us so our safety isn’t compromised. Don’t speak of my father."

When Theo was done, he noticed both of them smiling lightly while looking at each other.

When they saw that he was done speaking, Elias spoke, "We already knew a day like this might come one day, young master."

"Hm?"

"I already told my mother that I will meet her in a few years. The baroness and she are friends, so I don’t fear for her safety. As for Clara..." He spoke and looked at her.

"My family allowed me to go to the academy with you, young master. I will just send them another letter before leaving and it will be okay."

"You can go meet them too," Theo spoke quickly, making Clara surprised, but he just looked at her warmly and nodded.

Time passed and they all prepared for the day to come.

Theo met with his mother many times a day to plan for things.

They even talked about the silk that he was producing, and it was decided that Theo was going to develop them even further in the gate, as taking his partially tamed beasts was also very important.

All the arrangements made the two days pass really quickly and before Theo knew it, he was in front of his whole family except Bram, Gideon, and Celeste, who were going to see him off.

Lucien came forward and kept his big hand on Theo’s shoulder.

"I heard you were worrying about us a lot." He spoke in a teasing grin, which made Theo laugh awkwardly.

"But don’t worry, me and him are enough to protect our whole family." He spoke after keeping a hand around Cedric’s shoulder, making Cedric frown.

But when Cedric looked at Theo right in the eyes, he gave a brief but slow nod.

Theo nodded too. It was the first time he felt like Cedric was acknowledging him a little.

"Be sure to keep father safe, alright? He tends to forget about the menial things when he is in the easier gates." Elena spoke while patting Theo on his head.

"I will make sure to take care of him, elder sister." Theo spoke with determination, making a vein pop in the baron’s head, but he didn’t say anything.

The other heirs came to bid farewell too and just like that, only the baroness was left.

She went and gave a big hug to Theo and then to the baron while whispering only one thing in their ears:

"Be safe."

That was enough for Theo to steel his heart again.

He wanted to meet Bram before moving away but seeing that he was still in the school, unknowing of the fact that Theo and their father were moving so far away...

"Let us go already." The baron spoke, and they left the castle down the stairs.

Theo saw the same man who wore the straw hat to always escort Theo to the forest. It was Warren.

Yet this time, he was a lot cleaner with no straw hat or anything, making Theo grin.

They got inside the carriage and started traveling toward the destination.

"There is no crest on the carriage or our clothes, Theo. We are trying to be as discreet as possible." The baron spoke and rummaged through a drawer to bring out a brownish, scrap-made hoodie.

The baron tossed three of them toward Theo, who in turn passed the other two to Clara and Elias.

"We are going to enter the gate wearing this; all three of you will be right behind me." He instructed while wearing his own-sized hoodie.

The trio did the same thing while Theo eyed the block of soil on the trolley rolled in the middle space of their seating.

The trolley was a lot bigger now and the block of soil had some additional soil attached to it on the side.

"You will have to be in speed to carry this trolley inside the gate, Theo. Attendants, you are to help Theo get this inside no matter what."

"As you wish," Theo and both answered, and everyone was silent for the whole trip.

Around a few hours of travel later, the carriage halted in front of a dense forest.

They all got out of the carriage, and Warren was sent back.

"We will travel on foot now,"
