Chapter 32: Chapter 32
Havanna's POV
I got dressed, while rehearsing how I was going to like them so they would let me go.
"We are sorry first lady, but you cannot leave" They blocked me just at the gate.
"I know that, but Lucian had sent for me. He must be waiting for me at the office. Are you now going against his orders?" I asked them, and the four of them looked at each other.
"Okay, but we will have to come with you '' one of them said to me, and I felt like I should just punch him in the nose because why would he have to ruin my plan?
"No, there is really no need for that. He said I should come alone, if you think I am lying then you can call him yourself" I told them, while I waited.
They looked kind of scared, I couldn't blame them though, I sounded very intimidating. I am sure neither of them wanted to lose their jobs by being on the first lady's bad side.
Despite my intimidation, they still doubted my words
.
"Okay, if you don't call him, then I will. At least then he will know that the people he hired are calling his wife a liar" I took out my phone from my bag, praying that one of them would stop me, before I dialed his number and he did.
"No, we are sorry, first lady. You can leave" He spoke to me, fidgeting as he opened the gate so I would leave.
Overjoyed that I managed to deceive them I walked out of the gate.
With a smile on my face, I never knew how far the white house was till I wasn't able to get a taxi. Gush! My legs were in so much pain from walking such a long distance.
When I finally got to the road, I flagged a taxi and got in. That was when Lucian called me. I simply hissed and ignored the call, as I switched my phone off as well.
Since he can do it, why can't I? I know he would be furious at me for leaving the house, so I will prepare myself to face him by the time I am back.
Lucian's POV
I couldn't even concentrate at the meeting. I was fighting to keep myself attentive, but I just couldn't. If I cannot handle my wife, then how am I going to handle an entire country?
I just couldn't think straight, and I was more than delighted when the meeting had ended. I refused to spend even another second in the office.
"Take me home now" I instructed my driver, while my convoy waited behind me.
"So early sir?" He asked because it was just 1 p.m.., I didn't blame him though.
I had a distressed wife at home, there is no way I am going to have peace of mind at work.
"Yes, and please drive as fast as you can. '' I told him, wishing he could even fly me to the house at that moment. I just couldn't wait to get there.
"Can you drive any faster?" I scolded the driver.
I had called Havana several times. At first, she was just ignoring my calls, but now her number was also switched off.
I wasn't just scared but worked up. I only became more anxious when we approached the house.
Lucian's POV
I couldn't even wait for the car to come to a complete halt when I jumped out of the car screaming Havana's name.
"Havana! Havana!" I called out to her, running up the staircase, without even a care in this world.
But there was no reply, not like I was expecting her to reply. I forced the door of her room open but she wasn't there.
I went to look for her in the kitchen which was one of her favorite places in the house, but she wasn't there as well. I checked my room, but I couldn't find her. Where else would she be?.
I mean there aren't so many places that she likes to go to in the house. I have checked all of her favorite spots in the house, but she is nowhere to be found.
"Nana, Nana have you seen Havana?" I grabbed Nana by the shoulder, causing her a fright.
"No, but why?...." I didn't even let Nana finish her question, as I went to check for Havana in Karina's room, but neither Karina nor Havana was at home. Even Angela had gone out as well, no one seemed to be home.
I tried to call Havana again, but her phone was still switched off. The entire situation was driving me crazy, I was a complete mess, as I dug my hands into my hair and pulled it hard.
"Did any of you see my wife leave the house?" I asked one of the security men at the gate.
The others suddenly turned in my direction.
I was more than sure that they had let her leave, even without him answering my question.
" I thought she was going to see you. Pardon me Mr President, but you sent for her. You were both meant to come back together" he replied, and with how anxious I was, I couldn't even think straight as I landed an ear-deafening slap on his face.
"What do you mean by that?" I couldn't help but question his at*pid theory.
"I had given you a strict order not to let my wife leave the house no matter what. If I wanted to take her to the office or anywhere else, wouldn't I have come to pick her up myself?" I screamed.
I just couldn't sink into the thought that Havana was nowhere to be found.
"Are you seriously telling me that my wife told you I sent for her, and you didn't even bother to confirm with me first, before you let her leave this house?
What type of incompetent people did I hire!!" I shouted at no one in particular as I dug my fingers into my hair again, this time tugging on it even harder.
