Chapter 10: Chapter 10
What she said, acted like an ice on a hot day. He had suspected that everything happening to him, has everything to do with Samantha, but he didn't want to believe it, because, Samantha hasn't no money to pull all the stunt that is being pulled, but now that Whitney just said they met with her, he confirmed, her involvement, in all. His hands was still raised up, from wanting to hit Mary, and he just turned quietly to Whitney.
"Where did you meet her? He asked, wanting to get all the available information, so that he could send his men to the location to get Samantha, but Whitney was also ready, she wasn't planning on giving all the details.
"We were blindfolded, they took us to an unknown place, and brought us back the same way, with blindfolds". Edward didn't seem to trust his daughter anymore, so he faced Mary, who was still crying from the hit, she received.
"Where did you meet Sam? He asked her, but even Mary had to lie too.
"When they removed the blind folds from our eyes, we were only able to see a bright house, very big and very beautiful. There were men there, lots of men, then Samantha came out from one of the rooms, she says, she just wanted to see Whitney, After a while, they brought us back, with the same blind folds". Whitney stared at her, wondering how she was able to continue in the lie, she started.
"I will be back". He says, leaving them in the living room. Whitney went to Mary, and consoled her.
"I am sorry aunt Mary, I know that fine man will save us". He says, hugging her, while she cries in the little arm, wrapped across her, she was bleeding from her forehead, Whitney had to use her head band, as a ligature for her.
"Your father is changed so much, I used to believe so much in him, I trusted him with everything I own, but the way he is right now, I think I am beginning to believe the rumors against him". She says with tears, while Whitney looks shocked.
"What rumors? She asked, wondering just how finished, her father have become.
"Don't worry my child, but if you must be with your mother soonest, we need to make sure, they find this chip". She says, and even while she still has her words in her mouth, the door opened again, and Edward walks back in with three men, then he gave them the order, to get them.
"Daddy what are you doing? Whitney asked in her confused state, with tears locked all around her eyes.
"I am sorry whit, but you are going to Grandma's house, far away from here, so that your mother, doesn't get to see you again. She will come here again, to try and get you, and that time, I will be ready". He says, motioning for the guards to take them away. Mary wasn't struggling, for she was badly hurt, but Whitney was struggling. If she doesn't get the chip to them, how will they know what is going on. One of the guards managed to get the door opened, and while outside, the guards stood face to face with the cops.
"Dr Edward, why are they dragging your child like a common thief? One of the cops asked him. The guards quickly released Mary and Whitney, while she ran into the arms of one of the cops.
"Please save us". She cries.
"Dr Edward, you will have to come with us to the station for questioning". One of them says, taking all the guards with them, into a Van. Edward was thinking that it is the usual way, he would just speak to them, and make them believe that his wife, the lunatic, that abused her student, is trying to take his child from him, and they will believe him and even help him keep his child at bay, but to his surprise, after all he said, while on the way, they didn't pay heed to him.
"You should get my daughter out of that house, she might be in danger". He kept saying, but they didn't listen, so he decided to keep his cool, not until he noticed that the turn they were taking, was to the woods, and not the main road.
Where are you guys taking me? He asked, looking scared. They still didn't answer him, when they got deep into the woods, the car stopped, and he was dragged out, with his men, and made to kneel down.
"You are a drug dealer, you traffick children, you do shady businesses, and you are a paediatrician. What sort of a child doctor, does all these shady side businesses? One of the people he had thought were cops, because of their uniforms, and badges asked.
"I don't know what you are talking about? He says. That is one of the rules. You shouldn't ask too many questions, and when asked about the shady businesses, it is better to lie that you don't understand, or you deny it completely, Instead of admitting.
"We could just kill you here, but we won't, that will make us same with you, but we will make you wish for death to come". Another says.
"Who are you people? Edward asked, trying to get a mental picture of their faces.
"Don't ask questions silly. Just take it, that today is your lucky day, and this is just a warning, go home, and wait for our call". The third person says, and then, left them in the woods, and took a different turn. Edward was now officially scared, as he now knows that he isn't dealing with a small gang. Whoever was helping Samantha, is really a big shot.
It was difficult getting back home, but they managed to find a vehicle, after coming out to the road, it helped them get to where they could find a cab, which finally took them home.
Edward had a new plan. He isn't going to yell or scream at Mary or Whitney, instead, he is going to try and speak to them, maybe, he might get the information he needs, all he wants to know is the gang behind Samantha, but when he got to the house, the house was empty, Mary's room was empty, and surely Whitney's room was empty, they were gone.
Those cops were no cops, they were just a diversion, so that Whitney and Mary is taken away. Now that they are gone, how is he supposed to explain to the real cops, and in how much danger is he? He couldn't tell. They had told him to go home and wait, that he would hear from them. His fears, increases, by the minute.
He was doomed.
