Chapter 93: Chapter 93

'Woah, Maia. Congratulations on being the beta's mate.'

'Yay, how surprising. You both hid it from us for so long. It turns out that you're Beta Wyatt's mate; that's the reason you were brought into the pack.'

'We now have another pair. Congratulations.'

After the downpour of confetti, the entire class except Lorelei and her cliques congratulated me for getting together with my mate, Wyatt.

Nancy's face alternated between pale and green, clearly surprised and angered by the truth of Wyatt and I's relationship. However, wasn't I surprised when I heard the truth in the first place?

I wonder how the news spread so soon...

'So soon? It's been two weeks.' Maia whispered in a tired, thin tone, clearly drained by the two weeks' actions with Wyatt.

I scratched my hair sheepishly. That's right, it's been two weeks—clearly more than enough time to make the truth go viral.

My lips curved in a big smile, sweetness and warmth invading my heart and radiating from my whole being. I nodded to my classmate in appreciation. "Thank you everyone..."

Olivia turned back and grinned at me mischievously. "Oh, oh. Such catchy bite marks, limping, and hickeys. The two weeks must have been an intense battle with your mate, right?" She winked her eyes mischievously.

'Right. So catchy. Maia dares to take the man in our hearts and flaunt it to our faces.'

'Oh no. I really want to fight you, but I can't bully a limping woman.'

"You…" I had to bow my head to hide the redness on my face. I knew this was Wyatt's plan in the first place—to flaunt his stamina. Gosh! "Olivia…"

The sudden chuckle of Lorelei interrupted my words, and the classmates were teasing. Lorelei crossed her legs and leaned forward with an innocent smile. "Congratulations, Maia. A lowly maid like you had finally been upgraded by being a mate with Beta Wyatt; how lucky! Does that mean you've indirectly won the trials?" Lorelei clicked her tongue and said in an innocent, sweet tone as if she were really happy that I was Wyatt's mate.

My brows were constricted, and my fist was clenched in anger. This bitch! Even though she was talking in a sweet and innocent tone, I knew that the hidden meaning of her words was that I'm a lowly maid, and it was all thanks to Wyatt that my level was upgraded. Indirectly, she was calling me a schemer too! And because of the mate bond with Wyatt, I won't be able to have any trials anymore!

A smile surfaced on my face. Unfortunately for Lorelei, she didn't know my real identity; I was never a maid.

If Lorelei thinks her words will rile me up and make me look bad in everyone's eyes, then she's kidding!

Since Lorelei says such words, I knew she expected me to understand the subtle meaning of her words. And since I know the meaning, she expected me to make an outburst!

Once I let out an outburst, the classmates will think I'm causing trouble for Lorelei deliberately, when in fact Lorelei was wishing me well.

A wicked smirk surfaced on my face immediately. Since Lorelei is being implicit, what is the best way to face-slap her rather than be implicit? I have been subjected to many schemes in the Red Flame pack; what do her little tricks count as?

I leaned back on my chair and smiled beautifully. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and rested my chin on my palm. "You know, in my pack, our Luna always emphasized that all werewolves are equal. There is no difference between slaves and the royals; we are the same." I purposely paused and sighed loudly, enjoying how Lorelei's innocent expression began to crack.

I knew she had never expected such a calm response from me. I understand that she wanted me to yell at her about how she was mocking me, but why would I do that?

I clicked my tongue loudly and shook my head in feigned pity. "I didn't expect that Luna Lorelei would categorize her pack members. It turns out that maids are lowly to her. I know this must be a mistake from your side, but I'll try to remind Luna in advance. Such thoughts lead to the division of the pack. If Luna thinks maids are lowly, to prevent their provocation, it's better to suppress your thoughts inwardly.

The Luna is the mother of the pack, and she's expected to treat the pack members equally. But if Luna classified some as slaves and some as wealthy, then we don't need a pack in the werewolf clan, do we…"

"You bitch, stop talking nonsense. Our Luna doesn't think like that. You're purposely trying to plant discord." Eve smacked her table and bellowed angrily.

I leaned back and feigned innocence. "Oh? What do you mean I'm misleading everyone? Didn't she call me a lowly maid? I'm just trying to clarify; there's no need to put it into mind." I casually waved my hand and pretended to act uncared, even though my words were vividly portraying what Lorelei meant.

I leaned back on the chair and raised my chin proudly. Lorelei thought she could ridicule me, but she didn't know that when it came to me, all her measly tricks wouldn't work.

What bullsh*t is Eve spouting? Of course, Luna had just called Maia—I mean, the beta mate—a lowly maid. Although Luna's expressions were innocent, I couldn't miss the disdain in Luna's voice. I never expected that Luna was this sort of person.

Luna called the beta's partner a maid, yet Maia didn't say anything and only clarified things calmly. However, Eve sprang up and started fighting an unjust fight. Isn't it so hilarious?

Hehehe. It's funny that Eve is fighting for Luna, yet Luna isn't backing Eve up. Seeing Luna's actions, I kept having the feeling that she was a sly person.

Shut up! Talking to Luna like that, do you want to die? Luna is Luna; it's not our turn to start ridiculing her. What if she tells the alpha to imprison these lowly slaves to death? After all, we are lowly, so we won't be able to fight back.

Pfft! You're funny. Extremely funny. Truly lowly slaves.

The class members agreed to my words immediately, and they turned toward Lorelei in surprise and disbelief, as if they couldn't believe that their innocent Luna had just called a pack member a slave.

It's common knowledge in the werewolf pack that all werewolves are equal. I didn't know how Lorelei made such a slip, but it's fine anyway. It gave me the upper hand.

Even though many of the class members were Lorelei's fans, after the event that just happened, there's no way a seed of doubt won't sprout in their minds about Lorelei's innocent facade.

Upon hearing the ongoing discussion in the class, Lorelei's calm expression completely broke, and her face flushed with humiliation.

I couldn't help but smirk; for the first time, I overpowered Lorelei to the point of humiliation in front of her fanatics.

The thought of how this would soon be a trending topic in the school forum made a small smile appear on my face.

'What had just happened?'

My eyes widened upon hearing Wyatt mind-link me. What did he mean by what had just happened? Did he notice something, or did he have guards in my class reporting to him?

I shrugged the questions away. It isn't as if I've done something wrong anyway, so why should I panic? I took a deep breath to calm down and calmly retorted, 'What?'

'Felt your emotions.' Wyatt calmly mind-linked me as a response.

I immediately understood what was happening.

When I heard Lorelei call me a lowly maid, my mood fell for a split second. However, I didn't realize that Wyatt was quick to catch the minuscule emotions.

I took a deep breath and began to arrange my book on the table. What had just happened was a childish fight; there was no need to tell Wyatt. I can fight the battle with Lorelei myself. Wait! It's not even a battle in the first place. 'It's nothing.'

'Speak.' Wyatt mind-link. Although his voice was extremely calm and tranquil, I couldn't help but catch the hidden rage.

I sighed and massaged my forehead. Does he really need to push this far? 'Wyatt, it's really nothing. I can solve it…'

'If the guard…'

I couldn't help but shiver. I understand that Wyatt was telling me that if he had his guards come over to report to him, then he wouldn't let me go. "Ok, it's like this." I calmly explain everything to him truthfully. "That's how it is."

Immediately after I completed my words, I was replied to in silence.

I blinked in confusion. Wyatt told me to explain to him, and now that I did, he replied to me in silence.

I knew he would find such quibbles silly, which was the reason I didn't want to tell him in the first place. I huffed and puffed my cheeks before deciding to call once more. "Wya…"

Before I could complete my words, Wyatt blocked me.

(Hi guys, Happy New Year! Sorry for the lack of updates. I fell sick, and I had many issues going on, but now I'm back. Yay!)
