Chapter 47: Chapter 47

I fell onto my bed after taking my bath and applying my skincare routine. I picked up my phone and heaved a sigh of distress.

Despite all that happened in the afternoon, I didn't bother chatting up Oswald to ask him what was up.

I knew Oswald must want to see me frustrated, but I had to make sure that what he'd be getting from me was nothing but confidence and calmness.

I unlocked my phone and tapped on the search engine. If the library doesn't work, the search engine must.

'Pureblood.' I input the search according to Arya's explanations of how to operate the search engine.

Error! The search didn't match any information.

I gritted my teeth upon seeing the answer. I knew that Oswald must be the one behind this. He messed up with it again. He's really doing everything to get me blocked. Should I be grateful that he's paying so much attention to me now?

'Maia, your mate is an asshole.' I angrily commented.

Maia stayed silent and didn't reply to me, but I knew it was a silent agreement.

I took a deep breath and inputted the search that I should have gotten in the library if it wasn't for Oswald.

Unfortunately, my search didn't match again. I took a deep breath to calm my spiraling out-of-control anger, but regardless of what I did, I couldn't calm myself.

Have you ever had the feeling of strangling someone? Yes. That's the exact feeling I've got toward Oswald, that asshole.

'Don't be too agitated. Calm down.' Maia tried to placate me, but her voice was soft and tiny as if she didn't want my anger to be directed at her instead. 'What if it wasn't Oswald's fault? Why don't you input another search?' Maia asked in a tiny voice.

I snorted. After such signs, is it possible that Oswald is innocent and isn't behind this? I don't believe it!

However, to satisfy Maia's request, I decided to conduct another normal search to be sure that my search engine didn't have any problems.

'How to be a good fighter?'

Immediately, I input the normal search; it loaded and gave me numerous answers, which made me smirk.

'And tell me who can be behind this if not him?' I made a cold laugh, my eyes filled with a cold glint.

Understanding my emotions and seeing the result, Maia kept quiet and didn't say anything.

“Why are you raging? Won't you eat?” Arya suddenly strode into the room while holding a bottle of juice and chocolate cookies, which she was currently munching.

I ruffled my hair and threw my phone next to me, extremely filled with frustration and indignation toward my so-called mate. “I'm too frustrated.”

Arya's lips parted as if to tell me something, but she closed them again and smacked her lips together. “If you think about it, there are things to eat in the kitchen.” She informed me, and I nodded to her as a reply.

However, I did not attempt to stand up from the bed; instead, I picked up my phone and boredly began to search through the lists of what to do to make me a good fighter.

And that's just how it went until I fell asleep. It was 3:30 p.m. when I woke up, and before 20 minutes, I left the hostel, hoping Asher would be waiting for me just like always.

Alas, when I arrived outside, I couldn't find Asher's figure. It is more accurate to say he's not around, which is unusual.

I took out my phone and dialed Asher's number, a weird premonition running through my mind. It can't be that Oswald will also be suppressing me when it comes to Asher, can it?

I tried to suppress all the chaotic thoughts that were running through my mind and waited for Asher to pick up the call, which he soon did. “Master,” I called.

“Alpha ordered that you train yourself until after you win the fight,” Asher revealed to me immediately that he picked up the call, and before I could give him a reply, he cut off the call.

My lips parted in disbelief, and I replayed Asher's sentence as if to be sure that I didn't hear him wrongly.

Damn it! Oswald had gone too far. This is simply sheer bullying. How can he go so far for a newbie fighter? He's simply too heartless!

Without hesitation, I dialed Oswald's number, and that asshole picked up his call at the first ring.

I'm a bit glad that the jerk didn't choose to hug his lover and ignore my call. I huffed angrily. As if! His lover must be in her dormitory right now.

“Oswald!”

“What? Do you want to withdraw now?” Oswald replied in a lazy, bored tone. His taunting was clear in his voice as if all he was concerned about was seeing me lose.

In that instant, my anger turned into determination, and I bit back on my curse. “In your dream, you jerk. Oswald, when are you going to be satisfied?” I yelled at him.

Although I threatened him that I would be leaving his pack due to his actions, now I simply wanted to win his stupid challenges before slapping his face with the fact that I'd be leaving his pack.

Did he think I could only depend on him? In his dream!

As long as I get stronger, does he think I won't know the secrets I wanted to? Especially when I reconnect with Rex, the vampire lord.

“Until you fail.” He simply spat, his voice serious, which showed me that he wasn't kidding. Did he want me to leave so much? I'm not afraid at all.

I held my head high and chuckled confidently. I have a 50% guarantee that I can win, but I knew he didn't know, so I decided to use another point to brag. “Wyatt won't let me fail,” I replied confidently. Although I don't know what Wyatt plans to do, I'd rather choose to believe his words.

Oswald laughed loudly upon hearing my voice. “Really?” He retorted coldly, his voice challenging.

Although Oswald didn't make his words explicit, I understand what he meant.

He was implicitly telling me that, just like he had used Wyatt to fail my first trial, he could do the same thing as the alpha, and I knew he was right. After all, Wyatt won't decide to ignore the Alpha and his pack for a stranger like me.

“I hate you,” I yelled at Oswald, filled with indignation, even though I knew that I should be extremely calm.

“Mutual, darling.” Oswald bragged in reply and cut off the call, leaving me frustrated and angry. That jerk.

“Ugh.” I ruffled my hair and kicked a tree out of annoyance.

I really have to make Oswald pay. Let him continue acting proud before I face-slap him with reality.

I promise not to give him the chance to smile triumphantly. And to achieve that, I need to check out the power axis forest in case I find a rogue.

Although I'm certain that I can handle the red flame pack rogues, I'm not sure about the power axis pack rogues, and for that, I need to check out the forest.

However, upon stepping into the forest, I came across the last person I expected to meet.
