Chapter 31: Chapter 31

Lorelei stared at me with a gaze that showed bewilderment, surprise, curiosity, and a lot of other emotions I couldn't fathom, but the minute our eyes met, her expression turned cold, and she looked away quickly.

What's wrong with her? Should I be glad that she was more curious instead of mocking me like the others?

I rolled my eyes and held my waist with my hand before limping out of the dressing room. I came in here totally fine, only for an abnormal force, which I had never heard of, to crash into me, leaving me limping. Goddess, I need a massage.

Following the flow of my classmates, I soon arrived at the large fighting field.

There were other class 9 students dressed in their kimono doing warm-up.

I glanced at everyone to see what warm-up to imitate. Soon I found one I think will be easier for a beginner like me to follow.

Immediately, I began to stretch my hand, imitating throwing a punch in the air.

I was about to throw the fourth punch when a girl laughed. She covered her lips and then pointed at me with a deriding sneer.

"What the hell are you doing? Ugh! Calling this irritating is degrading. You're so much worse." She taunted me, which made everyone laugh at me.

"How about you teach me?" I simply replied seriously, with no hint of embarrassment. I know that I have no fighting skills, so hearing her words didn't annoy me a bit. Instead, it made me want to do better.

The girl glared daggers at me before looking away.

Sigh! I've been so honest and serious, yet she thought I was provoking her.

TSK! All these girls are weaklings compared to the Red Flame Pack.

"Hi, everyone." Our sparring teacher, Asher, casually strode into the fighting field in a black kimono, looking as hot and sexy as he has always looked with that permanent flirty smirk on his face.

"Hello, teacher." We all replied immediately.

The girls began to take out their mirrors, smooth their hair, and adjust their clothes in a bid to catch the Playboy's eyes.

I rolled my eyes and brushed the field with my gaze.

Literally, most of the girls were caught in this frenzy except me and Lorelei, who folded her arms with her eyes fixated on me.

As soon as Lorelei and my eyes met again, Lorelei looked away indifferently and took a step forward toward Asher.

"I'll go first," Lorelei uttered domineeringly, and Asher nodded nonchalantly as if he were already used to her overbearing nature.

"I'll pick my fighting partner first." She said and Asher gave her a nonchalant nod.

Lorelei calmly walked toward a box and dipped her hand into it.

I leaned against the bar while watching things unfold, only to feel a searing gaze. I didn't need to know that I was dealing with that perverted Asher.

I raised my head and scoffed at Asher, who gave me a flirty look in return.

Immediately, Eve glared at me. Oops, I forgot that she's Asher's fan. What if I boldly walked forward to hold hands with Asher? I presume that she'll go crazy due to her fury.

What's with this fighting with people who're not up to par? I don't even have the thought of replying to them because they aren't worthy!

Lorelei walks toward Asher and hands him a small plastic tag.

Asher stared at Lorelei with a frown, but she lifted her lips cunningly. "Don't tell me you're reneging on your…"

"Lorelei and Maia, please go to the ring to spar," Asher announced seriously, which left me shocked.

I gave Asher a look filled with surprise. Lorelei and I are fighting? Aren't I a new student? How did my name appear there so soon?

Besides, among everyone, why should my name be the one she picks? Something felt strange, but I couldn't pinpoint what it was.

However, I knew there wasn't any cheating. After all, she did it in everyone's presence, but I couldn't help feeling that something was weird and wrong somewhere, just like the strange force that collided with me in the dressing room.

"Haven't taken a step yet? It can't be that you're too afraid." Nancy taunted me with a deriding smirk on her face.

However, I didn't bother paying attention to her since I believed that she was just looking for attention.

I took a deep breath to calm my nerves. Lorelei and I are bound to be enemies due to our situation, so it's not bad to gauge her strength before a serious fight happens.

"Alright teacher," I replied to Asher seriously. I stride toward the fighting ring, where Lorelei is already waiting for me.

Remembering how sparring usually began, I bowed lightly and stretched my hand forward, but...

Contrary to my thoughts of Lorelei accepting my handshake, Lorelei kicked my hand fiercely.

If I wasn't so smart to notice that something was wrong and withdraw my hand, Lorelei's kick would've broken my hand!

How cruel she is! My hatred for her increased immediately.

Without giving me a chance to adjust or catch my breath, Lorelei closed in on me and began to throw punches at me.

Although I tried to fight back, whether it was the pressure Lorelei was using to suffocate me or the strength she wielded, I was no match for her, so I could only defend myself throughout since she left no chance for me to be able to attack her.

And as a beginner, my defensive skills are very lacking, so it didn't take Lorelei a long time to break my defense.

After breaking my defense, Lorelei's lips curved up wickedly. She continued to throw fierce punches and kicks at me without any hint of remorse, which led to the class members cheering her on.

I was out of breath, and I was beginning to get dizzy. Although I knew my fighting skills were lacking compared to normal, I never expected them to be this bad. I couldn't even touch Lorelei, not to mention throw a punch at her! How bad!

Lorelei suddenly gave my leg a fierce kick, and before I knew it, I fell heavily to the ground.

Thankfully, the floor was a protective one, so no further damage was done.

Nevertheless, I didn't go scot-free. After all, Lorelei had repeatedly punched my face and body, leaving me weak and bruised.

"So weak and useless. What right do you have to go against me?" Lorelei towered over me and scoffed at me derisively before she left.

Seeing Lorelei leave the ring the same way she entered, the student began to cheer her name loudly.

I clenched my fist hard and glared at Lorelei's indifferent back frame. It's just this one time; next time, my situation won't be so hopeless, I promise.
