Chapter 30: Chapter 30
"Our school has now descended so low that anyone of unknown background can come in now. I bet she must have slept her way through, though. Slut." One of the female students—I mean Lorelei's followers—taunted
Her lips were curled up provocatively as if she were daring me to do my worst like I had face-slapped them in the class earlier. Dressed in a white kimono, she held her phone and continued scrolling through it; almost every second, she'd raise her head to glare at me as if I were the creator of whatever nonsense she had just read on her phone.
Most of the female students, who I presume are Lorelei's followers, and I are in the dressing room.
I guess they planned to overwhelm me with numbers in case I tried to face-slap them again.
However, I've promised myself that there must be a limit to replying to all these cannon folders, or else my level will degrade to their level, but this time I don't have the intent of letting this one go by.
I folded my arms and eyed her nonchalantly. "Oh. Does that mean that the power axis top officials are corrupt? Ah, I didn't expect that. I guess not all silvers are gold." I taunted derisively, with vivid amusement in my voice, which made the girl pale.
As if realizing the meaning of the girl's words, Lorelei glared at the girl with displeasure, a mighty pressure exuding from her. Her face was cold and sharp, commanding unwavering strength. Dressed in a unique gray kimono with her hair packed in a messy bun, Lorelei looked like a fearless warrior.
The girl quickly placed her hand behind her, and she began to shake in fear upon realizing the meaning of her words. "I am. I'm sorry, Luna. Please forgive me." She cried out, and tears began to stream down her face.
I almost laughed at the sight. The stupid girl had been happily throwing shade at me in order to get Lorelei's attention ever since it was announced that it was sparring time. Unfortunately, she ended up making Lorelei dissatisfied with her nonsense talk.
She said that I slept my way through, and because I've been linked to none other than Wyatt, it means I slept with Wyatt to get into the pack and school, which is a corrupt act.
Since the honest Wyatt had been labeled corrupt by the girls, doesn't that mean that the Alpha who let this happen is also corrupt? And if the Alpha is corrupt, surely the top officials are corrupt, which means she has just tarnished all the top people's reputations.
How hilarious that she has been doing her best to get Lorelei's attention, but she flopped instead! I can guess that she'll fall out of favor soon.
"After class, go to the officials to take the right punishment," Lorelei commanded the girl coldly. Her stance was filled with justice, which made me roll my eyes.
Of course, she wasn't taking my side; she was only showing her love and support for her Alpha, and it made all the students feel touched by her honesty—it's vivid in their dreamy looks when they stared at Lorelei.
"Yes. Thank you, Luna." The girl replied and hurriedly nodded her head with a mixture of delight and fear. I feared her head might fall off.
After that, she glared at me with grievance and ran out of the dressing room immediately.
I pucker my lips at the injustice.
What the hell? I didn't even do anything; I only pointed things out. She wasn't annoyed at Lorelei but me instead.
Fangirls are so stupid; I could see many examples in Aida's followers. As long as one is in a top position, you'll have many people throwing themselves at your feet willingly, even for stupid reasons.
I opened a locker that had a Maia tag and picked up a black ribbon to tie my hair.
I never expected that Wyatt would make so many preparations for me.
I didn't leave Wyatt's house with a bag or book, but immediately after I raised that with the teacher, I was told that I had a locker where all the things I needed would be found.
Since none of the girls appeared willing to locate the direction to my locker, I told the teacher I could find my way; thankfully, it wasn't that difficult to find.
And now, it wasn't only the ribbons I found in it. There was also my kimono, along with my new books, bags, pencils, etc.
"Hilarious. Look who's proud enough to show her witty speaking skills in the class! It turns out she'll end up as quiet as a scared mouse when she has no backer." Eve commented and rolled her eyes.
I rolled my eyes too. Even a scared mouse will squeak when it's afraid, not to mention me. The reason I've been staying quiet and trying to avoid every quibble isn't because I'm scared, but because their IQ is too low for me to try replying. Not to mention that I commented on a sentence not long ago. Stupid!
How hilarious that both of us were chatting nicely a few days ago, and now Eve is among the people speaking badly about me. Actually, it's not surprising; Nancy has done so; what more, Eve?
And it didn't catch me abruptly; after all, I've seen worse in the form of my uncle and his family, and I know not to put my unwavering trust in anyone.
I bent down and tied my shoelaces in a cute butterfly knot, tuning out all the noise.
The instant I straightened my back, I caught a glimpse of a weird white thing I'd never seen before, but before I could try to decipher this weird thing I saw, it disappeared, and a fierce force suddenly collided with me.
Before I could process it, I fell hard on my buttocks, which made me cry out in pain. "Ouch."
I bit my lower lips hard with a frown. What was the strange force, especially that white thing I saw before the force collided with me? Was I hallucinating?
Before I could process this absurdity, the girls began to laugh at me and make snide comments.
I ignored them all and stood up, but due to the fall, my butt was now hurting.
I bit my lower lips while wondering what had just happened; however, before I could continue thinking about the weird occurrence, I felt a searing gaze on me.
I raised my head, and my eyes met Lorelei's squinting eyes in an instant.
