Chapter 116: Chapter 116
“A few weeks ago, she wasn't your mate.” Alpha King Hudson mused with a chuckle, and I couldn't help but recall when we came across Alpha Hudson on my first day of setting feet in the power axis pack.
Indeed, Wyatt had said I'm not his mate imperiously.
The recollection made my face redden, and I subtly pinched Wyatt's waist to relieve my grievances.
Wyatt didn't budge an inch; rather, his lips curved up, and he held my hand in his immediately.
Catching Wyatt's lips curving, Mr. Finley patted Wyatt's shoulder. “When has Wyatt's movement become something one can predict?” He posed, and everyone shook their heads immediately.
I also shook my head while thinking that Wyatt's movement was indeed what one couldn't predict. Not only does Wyatt plan meticulously, but he's also very scheming, and one wouldn't know what to expect next.
I really couldn't count how many times I have eaten a loss, thanks to Wyatt.
Natalie took a step forward and engulfed me in a tight hug. She gently caressed my back. "Maia, darling, you're welcome to our home. From now on, this mansion becomes your home,” she gently conveyed to me while her hand kept on patting my back.
I couldn't help feeling sweetened, and I returned the hug. Somehow, I didn't feel averse to Natalie hugging me; rather, I really wished to stay in her embrace for a long time because it felt as if I was returning to a familiar hug. “Thank you, Aunty.” I appreciated her with a smile.
“Call me mother, Maia.” Natalie immediately chided me, but in a soft voice that couldn't help but make my heart soften.
I parted my lips and diligently called. “Mom.”
Natalie clapped in delight and separated from me immediately. “I've always wanted a daughter, but I got an iceberg for a son. Now, I've finally got a daughter. I'm glad.” Natalie explained, her beautiful eyes were crinkling due to joy.
Natalie should be in her forties, but her face is so beautiful and her skin is well taken care of that she looked as though she were in her twenties instead. If one didn't know better, one might think she was Wyat's older sister instead.
I couldn't help but steal a look at Wyatt's face, and he looked unperturbed by what Natalie had just called him.
Iceberg—what a name! My lips parted, and I secretly tried to mouth the name to him, but before I could...
“Want to get spanked?" He asked through the mind-link, and I couldn't help but shiver.
I quickly cleared away the urge to start messing around. I secretly glared at Wyatt while thinking that he didn't know what fun was. He's really an iceberg.
Arya suddenly engulfed me in a hug and patted my back dramatically. “Sister-in-law, you're welcome. You don't know; we were really afraid that that person would never have a partner. Thank you for existing.” Arya cried out dramatically and stuck out her tongue upon receiving a fierce glare from Wyatt.
Everyone shook their heads upon seeing Arya's dramatic antics. A smile was plastered on their faces as if they'd gotten used to Arya's behavior.
Luna Queen Lena smiled and held my hands. “Let's go in, please. I bet Maia’s legs ached so much. After all, having an alpha as a mate isn't an easy thing,” she teased.
I lowered my head to hide my heated and flushed face, which was due to embarrassment.
I subtly raised my head to secretly glare at Wyatt, but I realized that he had been staring at me all along.
His black eyes were intently fixated on my flushed face, and his Adam's apple was bobbing up and down. He calmly met my eyes and smirked at me.
My lips parted slightly in amazement. This man. I quickly pinched myself to make my flushed face turn normal…
“Where's Oswald? He should be here already.” Alpha King Hudson leisurely stared at his wristwatch and asked.
Oswald? My eyes widened slightly. He was also coming? I didn't realize he would.
I looked down at my clothes, and I couldn't help but finally understand the reason Wyatt dressed me like this.
“Dad, Oswald should be on his way,” Lorelei responded in an innocent and demure voice. She held Luna Queen Lena's hand closely and gave me a smug look.
My lips twitched in bewilderment. I didn't even cast Lorelei any attention all along, yet she tries to create a chance to flaunt to me? Is she too stupid to realize that I'm not interested in Oswald and his family?
Immediately, I gave Lorelei a bored look. Why will I be envious of her being with Oswald's mother when I have the sweet Natalie as my mother-in-law?
Oswald. Thinking about it, ever since that time in the forest, I haven't seen him anymore, and I can't help being worried. I don't know if that's a good sight or not, considering the type of person he is.
“I'm here.” Accompanying Oswald's deep voice was the familiar agarwood scent that drifted into my nose immediately.
Immediately, an intense gaze fell on me. Without looking up at Oswald, I knew he was behind it, and I also realized that he didn't bother to hide his intense gaze on me despite the presence of others. My face wrinkled into a frown immediately.
Wyatt stretched out his hand and wrapped me in a protective hug immediately. “Let's go in.” He whispered next to my ear, and I nodded.
“Yes.” I stroked Wyatt's waist, and I nodded to him with a smile.
Oswald's lips curved slightly, and his gaze fell on Wyatt, and we entwined hands. He ran his hand through his hair, and his gaze fell on Wyatt and me wickedly. “Before we go in, won't you introduce me to my ma…”
Even without being told, I knew he was here to cause trouble, and he was here to reveal that I was his mate. My eyes glowed with annoyance, and my lips parted to say a word, but Wyatt beat me to it.
“Maia, my mate and wife-to-be.” Wyatt calmly introduced in an indifferent voice, interrupting Oswald before he could finish his words.
“Wife to be?” Oswald's face flashed with fury, and he retorted with a scowl.
