Chapter 139: Chapter 139
During several weeks during which Angie had to recover from her injuries, Spencer had not left her bedside. And if he did, it was on a very important mission that he couldn't ignore; or that only he could carry out.
He didn't know why, but just imagining leaving her alone for a long time didn't appeal to him. Not that he feared anything from her, she could go home if she wanted to. But it wasn't his intention to let her go.
His intentions were not guided by any action as a hunter, but it could be said that she had caught his attention for a reason that he did not know.
He sighed as he stood in front of the pharmacy. He still needed some medicine. Since he couldn't take her to a hospital not wanting to attract the attention of the people in town; who knows anyone could recognize him helping a creature.
He had therefore preferred to take care of her himself and was surprised that she had been so docile. Perhaps out of necessity, she would use him until she was fully healed and throw him away like an old sock. He smiled at his thoughts, she owes him nothing but he has some hope that she doesn't act like a bitch and shows some gratitude.
He entered the pharmacy and bought everything he needed. He walked over to his car and drove to his cabin.
One thing that caught his eye coming back was the delicious smell of home-cooked meals that greeted him when he arrived.
He moved forward before finding Angie in front of the stove simmering he doesn't know what. He doesn't remember having done any shopping lately, apart from a few cold preserves, and he doesn't remember that he had enough to make such a large meal.
Angie slowly turned to him before giving him a dull look.
" You are here."
It was so dry that Spencer just scrunched up his face. This woman is so cold it doesn't look like they've shared this house for more than three weeks.
"Yeah."
He had replied just as curtly before walking towards her.
"You cook."
He had mentally slapped himself for his somewhat stupid sentence given the obviousness that imposes itself on him.
" As you can see."
And of course, Angie would not have missed an opportunity to remind him of the stupidity of his sentence. He sighed, it's just that he can't find what to say to her. The topics of conversation are so lacking that he finds himself saying nonsense.
It's her fault too for being so cold and distant despite really trying to get closer to her. Yes, Spencer, the most incredible hunter in the guild, wants to get closer to a creature.
For what? Well, even though she's a creature, she's pretty easygoing most of the time, his lonely life has been changed by her presence, and to be honest, she's really beautiful with a nice little ass.
He shook his head at his stupid thoughts before speaking. Saving a creature is good, but copulating with it is serious.
"Where did you get this meat?"
Angie just shrugged.
" I am a Lycanthrope, hunting is an integral part of my behavior."
Again, he thought his question was stupid. He sighed before putting his medicine in front of her.
"Take."
Angie opened the plastic before sighing.
"We shouldn't do this...Spencer. It is a violation of the treaty."
"What? To save you and make sure you're better off?"
Angie sighed before turning around, ending the conversation.
A few minutes later, they were around the table sharing the meal when Angie began to breathe heavily.
" Angie?"
Spencer jerked up his seat falling behind her as he ran towards a feverish and breathless Angie.
" Don't tell me that your wounds got infected or that my poison control didn't work."
He lifted Angie carrying her to his bed before searching his hunter's kit for another more effective poison.
" It's... Ah... useless."
" Shut up Angie, you're getting sore with your dark character. I'm trying to save you there."
Angie remained calm for a moment before speaking.
"Why do you do so much for me? You don't have to and…"
"Damn, but shut your mouth ... You do not understand that I worry about you? Creature or not, you are under my responsibility and I must protect you."
Angie opened her eyes wide as Spencer's words echoed in the back of her mind. Under his responsibility? Under the responsibility of a hunter, she, a creature, if his former Alpha hears it, he will for sure finish the job he started. She bit her lip before sighing.
To hell with this damn rule that prevents them from interacting with hunters. This man had been good to her and seeing him so freaked out when she knew what was wrong with her was not right.
"Spencer…"
" If it's to say bullshit again ... It is better that you shut up."
Angie smiled at Spencer's confused expression before laughing to catch his attention.
" What now?"
Spencer was in a bad mood but just finally seeing Angie's smile was enough to calm him down.
" You shouldn't worry so much... It's a natural passage every month for us lycans. Fortunately, I am neither an alpha nor an Omega, otherwise, it would be worse. Betas can easily control their heat."
Spencer's eyes widened in understanding.
" Are you doing your heat?"
"Yes, just a little sleep and you'll be fine."
Spencer had already heard of it, he had also already seen a lycan in heat. It was not pretty to see the way he suffered from it but Angie told him that it would be ok? She indeed seems to be doing quite well.
He pursed his lips before getting up. Anyway, even if she was in pain, he couldn't do anything since he was neither a lycan nor her mate.
" Ah... I see, it's reassuring. So your mate…"
" I have never been bound, I am single."
Spencer smirked before he wanted to get out but he felt a strong grip on his wrist and the next second he was lying in bed Angie hovering over him.
" I do not have a mate yet."
After saying that, Angie brought her lips to his surprisingly before walking away.
She had a flushed face and a shy look as Spencer wondered where all this would lead them. He gritted his teeth before grabbing the back of Angie's neck and forcing another surprising kiss on her.
"Spencer?"
"It was you who wanted it, try not to regret it tomorrow morning."
He reversed their positions and began to undress Angie who at each of his caresses had meowed like a kitten.
Since that day, Spencer and Angie had engaged in a forbidden relationship hidden from everyone but unfortunately, the members of Angie's former pack had found her and kidnapped her. She is their captive and the Alpha of her pack demands that he create a war between the lycans and the hunters. For what purpose he does not know, but Angie is in danger and she is carrying their child. No matter what he has to do, he'll save them, and after all that, they'll run away from Capital City and live a simple family life.
" Wait for me a little longer my love, I will save you."
