Chapter 63: Chapter 63

Landon Lawson looked at Evan Quinn, who was eating crow. Where was that defiant attitude when he confronted him at home last time? Why was he being so cowardly here?

Evan Quinn glared at Landon Lawson with a dark expression and rolled his eyes, "No wonder you’re my mom’s ex-husband, always nagging like a woman."

The man snorted coldly, no doubt about it, he was Sienna Quinn’s biological son. Just a moment ago, he felt a pang of sympathy for this little boy, Evan Quinn. But now, he realized it was truly unnecessary. This mother and son, don’t they know how to be grateful? Can’t they tell when someone is treating them well?

Seeing the rare sight of the man being at a loss for words warmed Evan Quinn’s heart. After all, he was just a four-year-old child who had been bullied like that, feeling extremely wronged. In his time of need, Landon Lawson showed up, his real dad.

Evan Quinn’s eyes grew a bit teary, and he gently reached out his small hand to wipe away the tears at the corners of his eyes. At that moment, he finally understood what Danielle Carter meant when she spoke about having a father. The rightful source is NoveIꜰire.net

"If you’ve got nothing to do, don’t block the way. Just because you’re not moving doesn’t mean others aren’t trying to leave."

Landon Lawson and Evan Quinn exchanged glances. Evan stood with his hands on his hips, looking like a little adult, exuding a formidable presence.

"My mom taught me that a real man doesn’t bully girls, so even if you said so many mean things, I won’t stoop to your level."

"You won’t stoop to my level? Ha!" The woman sneered.

The commotion attracted the parents dropping off their children at school and Teacher Cole, who was picking up kids at the kindergarten gate. They all rushed over at the sound.

"Nate, Chloe, why haven’t you two gone inside yet?" Teacher Cole looked at the two children standing at the gate confronting each other and the adults by their side, feeling a pang of dread. Were they really at odds again?

The two little ones glanced at Teacher Cole. Meanwhile, Nate’s mom looked Landon Lawson up and down and smirked disdainfully, "I guess you’re her boy toy? Just another employee in the company. Already have a kid, yet still so reckless. Is this the example you set for your child? No wonder no one knows who the kid’s father is."

"You lie! How dare you speak of my mom like that?"

Evan Quinn burst out like a little wild beast, for years he’d only had Sienna to protect.

He wanted to grow up fast so he could protect Sienna. Listening to this woman in front of him trash-talk his mom, how could he hold his temper?

"Not true? Then tell me, who is your dad?"

Listening to the woman’s sharp voice and disgusting demeanor, Landon Lawson felt a bit irritated, an icy aura emanating from him.

An overpowering and forceful aura burst from the man, almost suffocating the woman.

The woman’s shocked gaze landed on the man, her mouth open wide, and she took large gulps of air in panic.

Evan Quinn’s small body stood frozen in place. What was he just saying?

Was that statement serious?

Turning his head to look at the man beside him, each wrinkle and smile indicated he wasn’t joking. The man stepped forward, closing the distance between him and Nate’s mom, who instinctively flinched, fearing Landon Lawson might hit her.

Landon Lawson gave a mocking smile, "Weren’t there a lot of words just now? Why suddenly silent? I’d suggest you leave quickly before I lose my self-control."

The arrogant words came out of the man’s mouth, but the woman recognized Landon Lawson wasn’t joking. She grabbed Nate’s hand and started to leave, checking the surroundings, noticing that although this had caught some attention, Landon Lawson had managed to keep their conversation private.

Stopping, the woman looked at Landon Lawson full of shock. Could one man really frighten so many people?

"President Lawson, what are you doing here?"

A surprised voice came from behind, and Todd Lowell drove up with Chloe to the kindergarten.

Landon Lawson reached out and held the still-dazed Evan Quinn, who gazed up with large eyes shimmering brightly.

The look almost melted him.

Nate’s mom froze upon hearing Todd Lowell’s voice, not daring to move rashly.

Her mind exploded; no wonder the man seemed so familiar. It was Landon Lawson, the young CEO of Lawson Group.

If he really was Evan Quinn’s father, suddenly everything made sense, why everyone believed it was Sienna raising Evan alone; he was considered an illegitimate child.

This explosive news didn’t excite the woman but filled her with dread, as these were the kind of secrets meant to be hidden, but Landon Lawson was revealing it right to her face.

Now that he knew the truth, would he seek revenge?

"President Lawson, if I had known you were Landon Lawson and Evan’s father, I would never have dared to be so bold. I swear I won’t tell anyone about this."

Landon Lawson looked the woman up and down, his gaze unflinching. If it weren’t for Evan Quinn, she wouldn’t even have the right to speak to him.

"I better not see you again; otherwise, regardless of your background, you’ll pay the price."

With that, the man’s words fell, causing the woman’s plump body to shiver, trembling fat as she hastily pulled Nate away. It seemed they would need to change kindergartens, as there was no place for them here now.

Todd Lowell carried Chloe over, curiously eyeing Landon Lawson, having clearly seen the panicking escape of Nate’s mom.

But why would Landon Lawson be here? And why holding onto Evan?

Curiously glancing over, he saw Evan with his head hung low, concealing his expression, struggling to maintain his composure out of view.

"Oh, it’s Lawyer Lowell. You bringing your daughter too?"

Todd Lowell nodded. Since becoming a single dad, he had taken care of his beloved daughter daily, affectionately ruffling Chloe’s hair.

Chloe slipped from Todd Lowell’s arms, gently taking Evan Quinn’s small hand, whispering so only the two of them could hear, "What’s wrong?"

Evan Quinn’s little head shook, his voice somewhat subdued.

"I want to talk to you."

The two adults paused mid-conversation, Landon Lawson said goodbye to Todd Lowell, and then took Evan across to his car parked on the opposite street.

Todd Lowell touched his smooth chin, filled with curiosity, "Why’s Landon Lawson here?"

"Don’t be ridiculous, President Lawson doesn’t have any kids."
