Chapter 110: Chapter 110

Zixin was sitting cross legged on his bed and meditating with his insects, one by one, Rank 1 insects were breaking through to Rank 2 and Rank 2 were on the verge of breaking through to Rank 3. As for Rank 3, their break through would take much longer unless Zixin bought more slaves for them to eat again.

The Dean had given him status of an In-Name Elder without any authority in the academy. The only benefit to this title was that the students wouldn’t disrespect him and that he had separate living space. It had been a few days since he came here and it was relatively quiet with so few students. The trial wouldn’t end anytime soon so there weren’t a lot of students here.

"Coming to this place was really the correct decision. The Mana Concentration is much higher than in Wulliz City and gathering energy for his 2nd Energy Cycle is much faster but still far behind. After the bugs advanced to their next ranks, Zixin put them in his Heart Space and left his room. He’d already freshened up and went to the library.

The library he went to had a total of ten floors but he could only access two of them. In the library, there was a Mana Gathering Magic Formation that was connected to the bookshelves, activating the Dust Repellent Function and the Book Shielding Function. The Book Shielding Function ensured that books don’t decay and the words don’t dissipate from the paper.

Zixin had already chosen a shelf when he came here and began reading books on that shelf. The shelf was labelled as "Human" and held all the information like their territories, bloodlines, history, rulers, anatomy, everything. The book that Zixin was reading was about the history of the humans and it dates back to millions of years ago.

Humans millions of years ago were very weak and backward, still using stone tools to hunt for food but many Magical Beasts of old preyed on humans like the Dragons and Giants and other Magical Beasts of that time.

Humanity only came out of the peril with the birth of the first Human Mage and first Human Emperor. His name was Merlin and the Pioneer of all Magic that humans possessed. He had Affinity for all Elements and could create spells from nothing. This was how he took humanity from a weak race to one of the strongest races in the Nirlrem World.

Unfortunately, Merlin disappeared tens of millions ago and nobody knows where he went. Some say he ascended to a higher dimension while others think that he fused with the Will of the World to comprehend the Source Of Magic. Zixin remembered that there were also stories and movies about Merlin and wondered if he’d gone there once upon a time. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ 𝓷𝓸𝓿𝓮𝓵•𝓯𝓲𝓻𝓮•𝓷𝓮𝓽

He continued to read the information and learned that humans then further evolved after experimenting with the Dark Elements, Magical Beasts Bloodline and experimenting with other Taboo and Forbidden Magic of other races. Their insatiable hunger for knowledge is what later placed them in their current level.

While reading, Zixin always felt like something was looking at him and today, he tried to find out what it was. He silently activated his Compound eyes and his view completely changed. In the library, Mana was highly concentrated but that wasn’t what Zixin wanted to see. He looked around until he finally saw what he was looking for.

Behind him, an enormous tortoise made completely from Mana was looking down at him and when he looked back at it, their gazes collided. The tortoise felt that something was wrong and moved its head to the left and Zixin followed its movement with its eyes. It then moved its head to the right and Zixin still followed its movement.

The tortoise then levitated in the air and flew around in circles and Zixin still followed its movement. The tortoise was surprised that Zixin could see it but it wasn’t completely sure if that was the case so it did something to truly know if Zixin could see it or not. It flew down straight at him and just as it was about to headbutt him, Zixin turned off his eyes and remained unfazed.

’So, something really was looking at me. Is it an Artefact Spirit or what?’ thought Zixin as he decided to no longer stay in the library. In the library, there was a replication machine to replicate a book copy to read at your leisure. It wasn’t free of course but Zixin was a librarian so he could use it for free.

In the following days, Zixin replicated books left and right until night fell, that’s when he’d leave the library and go home. In his house, he would feed these replicas to his Bookworms. The process was slow but all he had was time. While the Bookworms ate, he would meditate with his millions of Gu and more kept advancing to Rank 1 and Rank 2.

In a blink of an eye, two months quickly passed and the trial for new students had come to an end. The academy was now filled with noise and bustled with activity. In a short amount of time, this place had completely become lively and everyone was happy. Classes began and the students got to learn more about magic and Mages.

Their horizons were expanded beyond what they could even imagine. The Mage Path was just that vast and extensive, filled with infinite possibilities and paths to choose from.

In these two months, Zixin had copied all the books from the ground floor and the first floor and all the knowledge of these books was in his brain, never to be forgotten even if he wanted to. There were books which were very useful to him like the Records of Magical Beasts and the Infinite Nirlrem Races which spoke about all the recorded Magical Beasts and Races. He’d also learned about the most powerful human factions and there wasn’t a lot of them.

It the Mage Tower, the Royal Academies, the Witches Lair, the Holy Church, the Knights Order, the Adventurers Guild and the Ancient Clans and Grand Families.
