Chapter 105: Chapter 105

In the Green Forest Outskirts, there was a trail of blood but no corpses in sight. There were signs of battle, destroyed trees and flat grass but the culprit was nowhere to be seen, instead, a mysterious monster further into the forest. This monster would enter the bushes as a spider from one side and come out as a five meters long centipede on the other side.

It would burrow underground as a mole cricket and crawl out as an ant. Fly loudly as a bee or silently as a blood red mosquito. It had many forms and couldn’t be distinguished what exactly its true form was.

As it was currently night time, there were wolf howls, owl screeches, bats screeches and all sorts of other sounds. The shape shifting monster followed the sound of howling wolves which wasn’t very far away. This time, the shape shifting monster had taken on the appearance of a jumping spider about a meter big and leapt from tree to tree at an incredible speed.

Soon, the monster reached his destination which was a clifftop and below the cliff, two boys were fighting against two grey wolves. The wolves much larger than the boys, standing at a whopping 1.5 meters in height and two meters long from head to tail. These wolves had teeth that could easily chew through bones without much effort.

The jumping spider didn’t jump down from the clifftop but crawled downwards without actually falling. Then, the jumping spider’s head changed from that of a spider to that of a human and when it stretched the head, the head and the rest of the torso came out. The size and fur of the giant spider changed, now being blue and also bigger, three meters tall from head to toe.

This man-spider mmediately caught the attention of the two grey wolves because of the danger it emanated and strength it exuded. Seeing as it had been discovered, the man-spider disappeared.

One of wolves was crushed into a bloody pulp by the man-spider who’d appeared above it. The other wolf’s eyes constricted as it slowly retreated but it was useless because the man-spider yet again disappeared and grabbed its head with one of its six arms and crushed it. The attack was so sudden that the wolf could still move around with a headless body. Blood sprayed everywhere until the headless wolf collapsed.

The two boys were stunned then their expressions turned into horror. The spears they’d used to keep the wolves at bay fell on the ground with a thud. In the face of death, the bodies of the boys gave out and the wounds on their bodies flared up, blood poured out. The man-spider released ants and giant mosquitoes the size of dogs to deal with the boys but then suddenly stopped.

"What unbelievable potential you show little ones, especially you." said the man-spider as he pointed at the younger boy.

"My name is Zixin and it’s your greatest fortune to have come across me. Since you’re dying and I don’t have any healing medicine on me, I think these will do." said Zixin and opened his palm where golden orange cockroaches the size of an index finger.

"If you want to live then don’t resist. I’m giving another chance at life." said Zixin as he placed each cockroach on the boys foreheads. The cockroaches entered through the nostrils and the boys convulsef and their eyes rolled back. The cockroaches were unaware of this and travelled to the brain where they nestled comfortably at the centre.

The cockroaches then released pheromones that soon spread throughout the body and the grievous wounds began to heal at a fast rate. Soon, the boys had completely healed but were still unconscious. Zixin grabbed them and just as he was about to leave, something appeared from the shadows.

Grrrr! The latest_epɪ_sodes are on_the 𝔫𝔬𝔳𝔢𝔩·𝔣𝔦𝔯𝔢·𝔫𝔢𝔱

A pack of grey wolves had appeared and leading them was a two meters tall and three meters long wolf with a gaze of a leader, a vicious and cruel leader. Zixin didn’t panic as wings appeared on his back and the wingspan was around 8 meters. Before the lead wolf could charge forward, Zixin flapped his wings and turned into a blur then a second later, he was still on the same spot like he hadn’t moved from where he was.

The wolves were about to pounce on Zixin but suddenly stopped, their tails tucked between their legs. This was because their leader was growling at them and they submitted. The alpha wolf realised late that something was wrong. How could it now be opposite its pack, when had it reached the other side? Why was there a headless wolf with a body that looked exactly like itself?

"You’re already dead." said Zixin with a smile as he held the wolf head close to his face to have a better look at it. When its eyes dimmed, its body also fell on the ground and all the other wolves ran away with tails tucked between their legs and whimpering. Zixin then threw away the alpha wolf’s head and sighed.

"Speed truly kills, hahaha!" laughed Zixin before flying away and disappearing in the covers of darkness. He had spent a long time in this place and it was finally time to leave, the trip to the academy was just around the corner and he didn’t want to be late. And as the only person who’d applied for the job, the position was naturally his.

A long time after Zixin had left the bottom of the cliff, the wolves returned but this time, they didn’t come alone. Five meters tall and seven meters long wolves were accompanying them and these giant wolves were being ridden by green skin orcs.

One of the orcs descended from his wolf and investigated the crime scene, trying to make deductions of what had happened but he was stumped. There was an small area covered in blood, a headless smaller wolf and a headless larger wolf.

[This pup was crushed into a bloody pulp. This one’s head was crushed but the alpha wolf died a mysterious death. I don’t know what was used but the cut is so clean, this is a case of a perfect beheading. I’m assuming this was a knight’s work.] said the orc in its Orc language.

[But the pups described it as an eight legged monster with a humanoid appearance and can can sprout wings at will. What do you make of this?] asked another orc.

[Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, it doesn’t matter. What’s important is that we locate the two surviving boys of the Mara Clan.]

[Continue the search, even if they are hiding in Wulliz City, we’ll go there, sniff them out and kill them. No survivors allowed, that’s how we’ve done things all these years and it won’t suddenly change now.]
