Chapter 44: Chapter 44
The next morning they went home. While in the car, the two of them were just quiet and no one dared to speak. If only Ashy was to be questioned, she would still want to stay in the place. That was one of her greatest dreams. The place you are and the person she is with.
She had to return to Manila to fix the problem. She has to face her battles in life. This is the only thing that will give her true happiness and freedom.
She couldn't help but cry as she thought about what had happened. All the questions in her mind were gradually being answered.
"What's your plan now?" suddenly Storm asked her while looking at the road and did not bother to look back at him.
"I don't know yet, but I'm sure Paul is very angry right now. I feel and I know he has a reason to feel that. If you were in his position? One day you will lose the your going to marry, without any idea where she is. Where she went, wouldn't you be surprised? Wouldn't you be upset or think of something? " she looked at him meaningfully, but it focused on the road.
"I'm sorry, I can explain to him if necessary. I'll tell you why you went there. I'll help... "
"I don't need your help, Storm. I can explain myself. I can defend whatever I say, and most importantly, you're out of whatever we can talk about. Just let me handle it. I know I can and I know he will listen to me. " she showed serious resistance, based on the tone of her speech.
He can do nothing but keep quiet. He just turned his attention to the driver.
By the time they got down, Ashy had just heard her cellphone ringing due to a series of messages coming in. As she read them, it was inevitable that she would worry. In the tone of those texts, anger sent it. Paul's name.
Storm later asked, "Is he back yet?"
"Yes, that's why he's looking for me. because he found out in the office that I hadn't been in for a few days. We'll just talk, but not now. I don't want to meet his anger."
"Do you have a plan to tell him what I told you? The one about him marrying you and why he would do that?" He looked at her slightly to see the reaction on her face.
"I don't know yet. But maybe I should say so that I can hear his side as well. What is his reason? Maybe I can understand his reason. Maybe I'll be better off,"
"Why when you are quick to forgive other people? Why are you so hard when it comes to me? Is it such a big sin that I've done to you that you can't return the love you once had for me?What should I do Ash? "It is a passionate question.
"You don't have to do anything, you don't have to do anything because you've done almost everything. Maybe it would be better if you just let me be. You've given up on, if whatever promise you've been hoping for until now I'm still holding on to. Because all of that is gone, at the same time you leave me. "its bold answer in conjunction with wiping tears from her eyes.
"Is that what you want?"
"That is what I think is right," she said as she looked out the window, as a sign the end of their conversation.
When they arrived at Ashy's house, Storm first got out of his car to show to her mother.
The lady greeted the two warmly. When they went inside, they found Jem in the living room, expecting them to arrive unexpectedly. It was a Saturday and there was no office.
She stood up and shyly looked at Ashy. After a while, Storm said goodbye. Disappointment is on his face. She could see the sadness in his eyes as he said goodbye to her mom. He didn't even look at her and went straight to the door.
When Storm left, she was about to go up the stairs. She had no plans to talk to Jem at that time because she felt frustrated. failure because she was able to pass it on to other people. Is Storm really different from them?
"Ash, I know you're mad at me. I understand that but," she interrupted when Ashy suddenly looked back at her.
"Of all the friends I know, I've only seen you being a traitor. Why Jem? What did Storm feed you and did you manage to gamble on me?" She tried to calm herself at those times but she couldn't seem to cope.
"He just asked me for help. You are both my friends and I know that you will be safe with him. I know that he will not leave you, and I know that he can do that because he still loves you, " she explained. who even tried to hold her hands.
Ashy avoided showing her friend that she was hurt by what she did to her.
"Make a plan against me. Make a plan to take me there. Because you think we will have a happy ending when we return here. That I will listen to what he has to say and I will believe in all his drama. Then we will return here. Everything will be fine because we will know that we still love each other. You thought that because that is what was planted in your brains. But did you also think that someone would be hurt? Did you think about how he would feel? of Paul while I'm not here? Have you thought about what he'll think and what anger he might feel towards me knowing that I'm with his brother? You didn't think of that, because you're selfish, "she violently wiped away the tears from her eyes, showing her anger and resentment.
Even her mom couldn't speak at those times.
"Ash, that's not our plan. Storm called me suddenly when we were at the mall and he talked to me there. I didn't know you would be there for long. I'm wrong, sorry!" She bowed so that she could not meet Ashy's angry gaze.
"Is it that easy, Jem? Is it that easy for you to follow him? Is it that easy for you to hand me over to others?"
"Ash, Storm is no other person. He's also my friend and I'm aware of what you're going through. I was just trying to help, hoping that you'd be okay. I didn't know this was going to happen," she explained while still trying to hold her hands.
"Because you think of me so superficially, Jem, it's not that easy. I didn't think of it just for my own happiness. It's not okay for me to be hurt, I just don't want to run over others. But it's okay to do that. We've talked. So he knows he can't expect anything. " After saying this, she turned her back on her friend.
She went up to her room. There she wanted to keep to herself any problems she had. She wanted to cry and just cry. She wanted to get lost, but she couldn't. She wanted to destroy everything she could see, but she was not that kind of person.
Instead, she lay down with her and hugged the pillow as if someone would listen to her. Someone will listen to her in everything she says. Someone will believe a lie that only he or she knows. It's a lie that she will hate Storm even though the truth is that he is still the one she loves. But she wouldn't do that because she didn't want to hurt someone who showed respect and love to her
If she needed to be used by Paul just to help, she would. She prayed that he would tell her the truth and not lie anymore.
As she lay and continued to shed tears in her eyes, she heard the door open.
She didn't bother to look or look back at it, but she knew that her mom had entered. She felt her sit on the side of the bed where she was lying.
"Sorry Ash, I don't know. I also didn't know you and Storm will be gone that long. Storm came here to tell me, You can't come home." Jem also called me to let me know. I tried to stop him because I knew you would get angry, but he said he would take care of it. " It stroked her hair.
It does not spill. It just kept turning around and crying. She did not know what to say to her mother. She doesn't know if she will say how she really feels or if she will just keep it to herself. Will she admit that she still loves Storm or will she just hide it until she disappears again?
"I don't expect you to change your mind and perspective because of what happened. But I know you and I know how you feel. You wouldn't cry like that if you weren't hurt. I don't know why you would hide Ash, I don't know, "it is obvious in her voice the concern for the child's feelings.
Later, Ashy confronted her. Slowly, she sat up from lying down.
She still can't stop the tears that have been shed.
Her mother rubbed it.
"Why is that? Why is it that when I'm okay, he'll come back? Why does he have to be this way? Why does he have to be Paul's brother? What is my sin in the world and my fate to be happy? I once thought, is life playing tricks on me? " Passionate words came out of her lips.
"Everything that happens in our lives Ash, has a reason. Don't think that you are being played or punished because that is not true. It just gives you time to think and make the right decision. Even if we don't understand the purpose of our lives, don't forget what your dad said before he disappeared from us. You always choose what makes you happy. " she smiled at hee and parted her hair.
"Even if you know someone will get hurt? Even if you know someone will get angry? When was it right to hurt other people?"
"To someone who loves, to get hurt child. You won't know you're in love if you don't feel pain. You'll know that someone is important to you when you're afraid of losing them. If ever you'll tell Paul the truth, I know he can understand you because he has a big heart. I know he won't deprive you of happiness because you are important to him," her mother said positively.
Ashy knows things won't be easy for her, especially and Paul has a compelling reason why she's going to marry her.
She can't tell her mother because she doesn't want to make Paul angry. She knew that his reason for marrying Ashy was not fair.
"I still don't know what will happen next. I don't want to assume that everything is okay with Paul. I know he's mad at me and I understand that. Maybe we just need to talk." She tried to smile to hide how she really felt. She doesn't want to show her mother that deep inside her, there are so many questions to be answered.
Questions that even one has not yet answered. The question that Storm left him The answers can be even more painful than the wounds of the past.
"Whatever your decision may be, you will always remember that I am only here to support you. I am with you in all your battles Ash. You are the only one I have and I will make you happy with anything I know will make you happy." She got up from her seat. She kissed Ashy on the forehead then left the room.
Ashy was left not knowing what to do first. She wasn't sure, but she wanted to talk to Paul in depth.
