Chapter 11: Chapter 11
Marcus Point of View
I sighed for the nth time as I reached my office. It left me in a sour mood after what in the room. The face my mate made did baffle me. I’ve become a monster and made her suffer. It wasn’t her fault in the first place. Moon Goddess was the one that paired us, but I directed my anger in her, and she became the unwanted mate.
I sat on the swivel chair and clasped my hand. It’s time I changed. I must have her forgiveness at all cost. I couldn’t forget what happened with Arkand. Seeing her with another man infuriates me. I was annoyed. I saw blood and wanted to rip his throat. It was the first time in my life that I felt it. Even though I kept denying her sole existence as my mate, the bond was strong.
The door burst open, and Joseph went inside.
"You looked…bothered," Joseph said and sat on the chair in front of me. I made a face and straightened my back.
"Don't you know how to knock, Joseph?"I asked him. I want to punch him for ruining my moment.
"Nah. I don't know," he mockingly answered and smirked. Why did I become his friend again? Ah, I remember. He was one of the annoying kids that used to go here and spar with me. He is nothing but a mere nuisance to me at first. Joseph was stubborn and insisted his self to be my friend.
"Want me to rip your head?" I said.
"I'm scared, Marcus!" he said and squealed, imitating the voice of a she-wolf.
"Gross, "I told him. He laughed, but his expression suddenly changes. I knew what his business with me. We haven’t found Damien’s body, and he might have been still alive despite the fatal wound he had and when he fell off the cliff.
"We got a lead on the rogues and a certain mage accompanying them," he seriously said. “We doesn’t have the slightest clue if it was Damien who was leading them, but we’re certainly sure that your pack was their target,” he added. The smile on my face disappeared and was replaced by anger.
“Damien. That fucking Damien. I don’t know if he’s alive or not, but he’s still making trouble for us,” I answered. If I found out that Damien is alive, it’s not just my sister that’s in trouble also my entire pack and Anya.
"I think they’re recruiting rogues to kill you," Joseph said. “Man, you have lots of enemies,” he added while chuckling. I couldn’t deny that.
“What’s a mage doing in them, though?” I asked.
“I don’t know. Want me to ask our wizard friend to come here?”Joseph said. Just like he said. We also got a wizard on our side. Joseph met him in the club, and he introduced him to me.
“If Kane would agree,” I replied. I don’t want to involve more people in these matters. I had already involved Joseph and his mate in this mess.
"You know we will fight beside you, "Joseph said.
“Thanks, man,” I sincerely responded.
“Ugh…I recalled something,” he said out of nowhere.“I really hate that former deceased or not, the beta of yours,” he added. I chuckled. He always tells me how much he hated Damien even though Damien didn’t do anything to him. He said it was a gut feeling, and boy, he’s not wrong. Now, he was hunting as even in death.
“I should’ve picked Arnold as my beta,” I said and shook his head.
“Start the training tomorrow," I told him.
"What? Why are you ordering me?" Joseph said and made a face.
"Fine! I will call my beta. Let your staff know that too,” I said.“We need to beat Damien, if he’s truly Damien, and let him pay for what he did,” I added. Joseph nodded his head. A sudden knock on the door made me snapped my head towards it. I smell the sweet scent of my mate.
"Come in, "I said. When the door opened, my mate entered.
"Coffee?" she asked. I smiled at her.
"No. I'll pass, Anya. I still have to go to Lea," Joseph said. He stood up and said goodbye to Anya and me. She put the coffee on my table and was about to leave my office, but I stood up and grabbed her arm.
"Stay here, "I demanded. She looked confused for a moment and sat on the chair where Joseph sat earlier.
“Not there. Here,” I said and pointed my laugh as I sat down. I saw her cheeks blushed. I really want to touch her face and kiss her lips. Anya walked towards me and timidly sat. I hugged her from behind and buried my head in her neck.
"Marcus!" she said in shock. I did not pay attention to her and inhaled her scent.
"Fuck! You smell so good, Anya," I said and kissed her luscious lips.
