Chapter 84: Chapter 84
"Where are we going?" I noticed he wasn't driving through the right route, but It wasn't leading to his house either.
"Going to the same place we used to go," he mumbled, "but just a friend, I know." He added and smiled. I smiled back, but in my heart, I was not okay with this idea. We never told Tucker anything about me and Steven, but Steven knew about us, so I don't think he will be fine with this idea. "I just want to spend some time on the hills." he continued when he found me awkwardly silent.
"Sure," I replied, trying to act normal.
I grabbed my phone and secretly left a text to Steven.
Me: Steven he is taking me to the hills, nothing crazy, he just wants to spend some time there.
Tucker stopped the engine and walked ahead as I followed him. It was a beautiful view ahead and he was looking at it like he had never seen it before.
"Why are you looking at it like you have not seen it for ages?" I smiled, looking at his face and then at the view.
"It feels like so," he answered, his eyes at nature. "You know I can't thank you enough for letting me in your friend circle again," he stated, slowly looking in my direction and then stealing his eyes again.
"Steven hates me," he stated, his eyes at the front again, he was stealing his eyes from me.
"He never hates anyone, he is just not comfortable for now, give him some time," I murmured instantly, He shouldn't be blaming him for acting weird when he is poking him and making fun of him.
"You have quite a faith in him." he stated and turned to me, tilting his face, "I just don't get it," he said and his face turned sad, grief, and guilt visible.
"What don't you get?" I questioned, watching his face in confusion.
"Why things are turning against me, I almost feel alone now." he looked down, his eyes wandering down uncomfortably.
"You are not alone Tuck!" I stated, but honestly, I don't blame him for thinking like that, who will feel safe when his mother is playing games with him?
"I am Giselle! You don't feel it because you are free now, but I am not." he stared into my eyes for seconds and when tears appeared in his eyes, he closed them to hide the tears.
"You aren't free?" I asked, slowly reaching for his hand, he was shivering.
"I am stuck!" he uttered, keeping his eyes closed and making fists of his hands, "she won't let me breathe," he added and goosebumps hit my skin. I instantly grabbed his hand and held it tightly, feeling my touch, he opened his eyes and our eyes met for a moment.
"You can share it with me, Tucker," I said and breathed peacefully, the calmness of his face made me feel better.
"It is weird," he smiled and then looked away.
"What is weird?" I inquired, not letting go of his hand.
"The fact that I care about someone more than myself now," his statement was a clue, he was talking about me. "But don't force yourself back into that hell Giselle, I have worked hard for you to leave that place," he whispered and I instantly let go of his hand, what does he even mean by that?
"I don't understand," I stated and shook my head, taking a step back in terror. The sadness took over his face as he watched me spacing myself from him.
"I wanted you to leave Giselle," he mumbled and deepened his stare, he knew about his mother, but then why was he not taking an action? Why was he letting her play with his life? It is like he knew, but wasn't ready to believe in it.
"Why?" I asked, narrowing my eyes in anger. He can't just act like he meant a good life for me when his actions differ completely.
"That place is a shame," he stated and looked away, uncomfortably running a hand through his hair. "It's getting dark, we should leave now," he murmured and sighed. I didn't question him after that, he was already broken from inside, whatever he was hiding was something very big.
He dropped me at the orphanage and drove away pretty silently, not even uttering a goodbye or Goodnight. I saw his car disappearing before my sight, turning around, I saw Steven standing in the dark.
"You scared me, what are yo---," I mumbled, but he started his bike and drove away. I was left behind with no idea what just happened, why was he there if he didn't want to talk? It wasn't like he was just there to see if I was with Tucker because I have told him I was with Tucker.
I got inside my room and landed in the bed pretty instantly.
"How was your day?" Bailey asked, I opened my eyes and saw her smiling my way.
"It was great," I uttered,
"Umm when you were away, a very hot guy came looking for you," she murmured, and stared at me, the mention of hot guy was enough to let me know it was Steven.
"He also left some food for you," she continued, handing me the bag of Shake Shack. "Who is he?" she asked, her eyes shining.
"Steven Locks," I stated, looking through the bag, but why did he not speak to me?
"I know his name but why is he with you?" She inquired, "Is it because of his girl Ivory?" She questioned and I felt the world being shaken up under my feet, why would she pick Ivory out of all the girls in the town?
"His girl?" I asked, completely shocked and frozen.
"You don't know that?" she raised her brow and nervously bit her lip,
"No! Actually, we just became friends so I don't know." I instantly covered my reaction, but why did she say, Ivory?
"Oh, okay." she replied, "He is hot as f***," she commented and picked up her phone.
"Dang, he didn't tell me he is seeing Ivory, and I thought my friends tell me everything." I Punched my palm playfully and pouted, she laughed, totally thinking that I was just pretending to be hurt, well I wanted it to seem fake.
"Well, he is spending quite a time with her these days," she commented and then drowned her head back in her phone again. I can feel the blood boiling in my veins now, and then he got the nerve to be mad at me for everything. Wait! Calm down Giselle, maybe she misunderstood some other guy with him.
I looked through my phone and he hadn't answered me back yet.
Me: Thanks for the food.
Again, no answer.
Welcome to Giselle's world of pettiness, he had successfully unleashed the petty beast inside me and with that being said, I shoot a text to Dina.
Me: Did you know Steven is seeing Ivory Arch?
And now I was just waiting for a moment to open the fires.
Steven's POV:
"You didn't even say goodbye?" Dina asked, Sid was wrapped all around her, it was hard to answer her without looking at Sid, who was licking her cheek, that is not romantic at all.
"Is this hungry cobra going to stare at me while he is licking your cheek?" I rolled my eyes and successfully pissed off Sid, He unwrapped his arms and glared at me.
"I will be right back." He excused, eyeing me for the comment.
"You haven't answered me yet." She asked, nagging me always like she is my mom.
"I just wanted to make sure he drives her off safely." It was hard to say their names together.
"You are hurting yourself, you know that right?" she mumbled and I couldn't help but stare at her, she knew my feelings about Giselle very well.
"Nope, I wanted this. I wanted her to take some time and rethink everything, I want her to choose me over Tucker when she has an option or my whole life I will feel like the other guy or the rebound guy." It was true, I wanted her to choose me, but I was too scared to think otherwise.
"What if one day, when everything is over, things are normal, Lauren is gone and she chooses Tucker over you, then?" she asked and my heart skipped a beat, I had no answer. I bluntly stared at Dina with pain filling my eyes.
"Do you think that would happen?" I was scared, numb, and terrified to even think of that. I can't lose her every time, I want to believe her that she loves me and not Tucker but what if she changes her mind? My phone beeped and it was from Elle.
My Girl: Thanks for the food.
I closed my eyes and sighed, I have to stay away from her for now.
"Steven, she doesn't have feelings for Tucker anymore," Dina mumbled and her phone beeped, she looked through the screen and a big frown appeared on her face.
I stayed calm and patient, the phone in my hand beeped and I checked the text.
Ivory: Can you come over? I will leave my window open ;)
Me: Cool :) I will be there in minutes.
"Um Dina" I cleared my throat and mumbled to get her attention, she lifted her face from her phone and looked at me in confusion, "I have to go, I will contact you later." I excused and got up, she was staring at me like I had horns over my head.
"What?" I shrugged my shoulders and she slowly shook her head and smiled.
"See you later." She murmured.
Giselle's POV:
Dina: I swear I have no idea.
Me: He doesn't even answer me back.
Me: Just a few days apart and he is already f*** around.
I can feel the hate rushing through my blood, how can he be such an idiot? Like I asked him if he wasn't okay with the idea of me helping Tucker, I will never do that but he said he was fine with it.
Dina: I would have asked him, but he hurried out.
Me: where did he go?
Dina: Elle! I don't know where I don't chase him like a spy.
Me: Then get up and follow him, inform me I am joining you.
Dina: What do you mean? They won't let you leave the orphanage at this time.
Me: To hell with whoever tries to stop me, I am coming. Get up.
Dina: Fine.
I rubbed my hands angrily and frowned. It was easy to leave this place, use Steven's name and that's all it takes. I was out in no time, my heart was beating louder than ever, what if he really is f***** Ivory? I will be so heartbroken.
"Hey!" I saw Sid on the bike, coming towards me.
"Why are you here?" I asked, watching him taking off his helmet.
"I am your ride," he rolled his eyes and gave me the helmet.
In the meantime, I got a text from Dina,
Dina: He is stopping at the shake shack, taking food I guess.
