Chapter 63: Chapter 63
THIRD POV
While the other Knights are fighting against Ferdinand’s vigorous men. A group of choppers stopped them, all of which carried their family's logo.
“Rios!”
“What are you doing here, Dad?”
“I don’t want to be late for the party! I’m not Eronus with arthritis!”
Rios shook his head because he knew their father was a nasty.
“Dad has arthritis?” asked Eron, his eyes widening. Aaron smacked him.
“You’re crazy! Dad’s just busy at work!” Aaron exclaimed. “Because you’re entrusting your job to our father!”
Rios shook his head as his cousins and their parents gave him a headache.
“Dad!”
Rios winced as his younger sister hugged their father. He sighed and told his companions that now was not the time for them to reunite.
“There are more foes, idiot!” he exclaimed.
Eros grabbed his chest and Alessandro’s shirt.
“Al, what’s the matter with Rios? Carlito is his father!”
“F–ck off! Don’t pull on my shirts.”
Rios screamed rudely and left his cousins and their parents because it would only get worse if he stayed with his family. He paused and grinned as he remembered Scarlett.
“You take care of Fernando,” he whispered as he fought Ferdinand’s men once again.

Scarlett continued her plan to blow up the entire place once she was out of her father’s presence. She has also fought other Ferdinand and Solen members.
“Why are they growing in number? How much preparation did Ferdinand put in? He is really confident he will win, TSK,” Scarlett said as she grabbed a man about to attack her and broke the man’s head.
Someone even attacked her, and she kicked him in the head and shot him. Scarlett groaned as she sighed and looked at her watch after spilling a lot of blood on her clothes.
“Damn, I’ve been here for an hour! Where did they hide mom and my kids? F–ck!”
Scarlett took a deep breath before pulling over a man and pointing a gun at him. “Where did you keep the hostages?” she asked.
Scarlett let go of the man as the man pointed to the second floor while shaking, but before she left, Scarlett smirked at him.
“I don’t have mercy,” she said as she shot him again in the head. Because Ferdinand’s other men were frail. She shook her head. She didn’t even receive a wound.
“Scarlett!”
Scarlett came to a halt and her eyes widened when she saw Erin running toward her and Ander, still with him.
“Damn, what did you do? Where are they? Why are you alone—” Scarlett grabbed Erin’s shoulder before he could finish speaking.
“Ferdinand has many people. We can’t beat them if you ask more. I’ll take care of saving mom and my children,” said Scarlett, nodding to Ander. Erin frowned because it still confused him about what was going on.
This was also not their plan.
“Go!” Scarlett exclaimed, grinning at Erin as she dashed towards the second floor.
Erin sighed and shook his head because Scarlett didn’t appear to require their protection any longer.
“Let's go.” he said, looking at Ander.
Ander nodded, and they ran off somewhere to fight Ferdinand’s men.
Scarlett just smirked when she knew Erin couldn’t stop her any longer because her cousin knew she couldn’t stop. Scarlett inhaled deeply and dashed to the second floor, where her mother and children were.
She came to a halt when she noticed how many rooms were on the second floor, but she also prepared because Ferdinand might have staff on the second floor as well. Scarlett looked behind her, up the stairs, and in front of her before walking slowly in case she ran into someone.
Scarlett lowered her hand and walked towards the far room where her mother and her children were when she noticed the entire second floor was silent. She gripped the pendant while crying because she missed her children so much.
“Mommy is on her way,” she whispered.
She took a deep breath and grabbed the doorknob, but before she could open it, someone grabbed her arm, pulled her, and punched her in the stomach.
Scarlett grabbed her stomach and looked around to see who had done it, and it was none other than Sophia.
“You can’t escape! You will die first!” Sophia yelled and punched her in the face before she could stand up.
“Dominic is mine!” Sophia exclaimed, punching her in the face.
Scarlett couldn’t move because Sophia jumped over her. “F-ck!” she exclaimed, wiping the blood from her lips.
“Stop!” Scarlett yelled, kicking Sophia. She backed away, but she kicked her again in the stomach. “You have many sins against me, Sophia, because you have involved innocent people with your shamelessness!” she yelled, hugging her stomach.
She groaned as she looked at Sophia, her breathing heavy, but she tried to stand.
“You’re going insane. You’re no longer my sister who always protects me, and you’re no longer the Sophia I adore!” she exclaimed as she wiped the blood from her lips. “Why did you change? Why did you let yourself be their puppet?!? And why did you destroy the family we have?” she cried, looking at Sophia.
“They’re just using you! Don’t you feel that? They use your weakness, so you listen to what they tell you! You have no side with anyone, Sophia, because even your mother is just using you!” she bit her lip and cried as she looked at Sophia.
“What happened to you? What happened to my sister? You ruined our strong relation. You ruined our childhood memories of being siblings, and you ruined my relationship with Dominic, as well as my children’s dream of spending time with their father!” Scarlett shook her head and covered her mouth, having just let out all of her anger.
“Shut up, shut up!” said Sophia as she attacked Scarlett again, but Scarlett kicked her and she backed away.
“How did you end up in this situation, Sophia? I can’t even hurt you even if I know all your sins because I believe you can never do that, but every time I think about Ken’s suffering, I can’t help but be mad at you.” Scarlett burst into tears because she couldn’t take it any longer. Sophia came to a halt, and her tears began to fall.
“You can still change, Sophia, just for your daughter; I can’t say I can forgive you for all your sins, but I believe you can change,” said Scarlett as she approached the door to open it, but Sophia pulled her back.
“You know nothing! You don’t know how I feel because you stole everything from me, so you deserve to die.” Sophia yelled angrily, kicking Scarlett.
Scarlett didn’t budge and kept opening the door, but Sophia grabbed her hair and dragged her away from the room. She was struggling, but Sophia refused to let her go.
“If Dominic can’t come to me, he won’t come to you any further; you will die first, Scarlett,” said Sophia, bursting into laughter. Scarlett shook her head, thinking Sophia would never change.
She grabbed Sophia’s arm and threw her to the ground. “I gave you time to think, but instead of listening, you chose to stand up for all your sins,” she said bitterly, stepping on Sophia’s hand, who was screaming in pain.
“I’m out of patience, Sophia,” she said, pressing her foot against Sophia’s hand. Sophia screamed and hit Scarlett’s foot, but it pressed harder on her hand.
Scarlett stared at Sophia blankly, clenched her fist, and punched her in the face. She took a deep breath before leaving in front of Sophia.
“You will pay for all your sins,” she said as she ran back into the room and opened the door.
“Mommy! Mommy has arrived!”
Scarlett was too weak to go inside because of her mother’s and children’s safety.
“Mommy!” yelled Carrie, sobbing. She bit her lower lip and dashed to see her children.
“Mommy is here,” she whispered to her children, hugging them. “No one will hurt you; I will protect you,” she’s kissing her children on the cheek.
“Mom… Grandmother…”
Scarlett stepped back from her children’s embrace and untied the ties around their hands and feet. She then went to see her mother and cried about Sharlene’s condition.
“M-mom… I’m here,” she said, removing the ties from her mother's hands and feet and the gag from her mother’s mouth. Scarlett placed her mother on her lap with care. “Mom, I'm here…” she whispered, kissing Sharlene on the cheek.
“S-Scarlett…”
Scarlett smiled, her tears still streaming down her cheeks. Sharlene tried to touch her daughter on the cheek.
“I-I’m sorry,” she apologized. Scarlett shook her head and took her mother’s hand in hers. “Please tell your father that I’m sorry… I-I l-love him…”
Scarlett's eyes widened, and she shook her head as she sobbed.
“Everything will be fine, mom; let’s go home,” she sobbed. Sharlene wiped Scarlett's tears away with a smile.
“Take care of our family, Scarlett; you’re my only baby…” Sharlene forced a smile and looked at her grandchildren. “Please give your grandmother a hug…”
While crying, the children hugged their grandmother.
“Grandma!”
Sharlene smiled and looked at Scarlett, who was still crying and clutching her hand. “After this, be happy…” said Sharlene as she closed her eyes and let go of Scarlett’s hand.
“No, Grandmother!”
Scarlett came to a halt, as if she could no longer hear the surrounding noise. She just sits there, dumbfounded, staring at her mother’s corpse in front of them. Her mind went blank, as if she had lost her soul because of her mother’s death, and her tears continued to fall.
“Scarlett!”
She blinked, her empty eyes returning to normal, and turned to face the person who had called her.
“I will kill you!” Sophia yelled as she pointed her gun at Scarlett, but it took aback her when she noticed Scarlett's children, so she aimed her gun at them as well.
Scarlett’s eyes widened, and she hugged her children to protect them. But when she heard a gunshot, she came to a halt and looked at Sophia, who was vomiting blood, and was even more surprised to see Dominic standing in front of Sophia.
“D-Dominic…” Sophia cried, collapsing on the floor.
“Scarlett…”
When she saw Dominic had a bullet wound in his arm, her eyes widened. Her father arrived before she could stand.
“Scarlett—” Vernon came to a halt when he noticed his wife lying on the floor and ran inside. “S-Sharlene.” He’s at a loss for what to do or whom to prioritize.
“S-Sharlene,” Vernon said as he knelt down and caressed his wife’s cheek. “I-I’m here… W-wake up,” he whispered, but Sharlene didn't respond, so he hugged her wife’s corpse. “Sharlene.” he cried out in agony because his wife had left him.
Scarlett’s eyes went blank once again, and she seemed to be unable to hear her father’s cries. She stood up and tightened her fists. When Vernon noticed his daughter's empty eyes, he came to a halt and turned to face her.
“S-Scarlett…”
Vernon was even more stunned when Scarlett turned to face him.
“You take care of them, dad; all I have to do is finish something,” Scarlett said coldly.
Vernon’s hair stood on end when he heard his daughter’s voice, and his fists clenched as he realized he had done nothing to protect his family. He took a deep breath, looked at Sharlene, and kissed her on the cheek before turning back to face Scarlett.
“I’ll take care of them,” said Vernon. Scarlett turned and ran out of the room and said nothing. Vernon smiled, knowing he couldn't stop his daughter.
He took a deep breath and returned Sharlene to the floor, gathering a cloth to wrap around her. Vernon returned his attention to his grandchildren and Dominic, who was tying his arm.
“Go to your father; he will protect you,” he said to his grandchildren, who nodded and ran up to Dominic. “You take care of them, Dominic, and I’ll take care of their corpse.”
Dominic nodded, stood up to pick up Carrie, and led Agustin out of the building by the hand.
Vernon inhaled deeply and approached his daughter. “This is not what I imagined for you; I took you away from Soledad, so you wouldn’t be like her, but I made a mistake because I didn’t even consider how you would feel,” he said, holding Sophia’s cheek.
“D-Dad… I apologize… Please look after my daughter and tell Scarlett I apologize for everything I’ve done. I-I’ll look after m-mom…” Sophia coughed blood. “Tell Grandpa, t-thanks for looking after me… I’m sorry…” Sophia sobbed as she vomited blood.
“I only realized I still have a family; envy and greed must have devoured me, but dad, I’m proud to be a Knight,” Sophia smiled as tears streamed down her cheeks. “I’m still glad you became my father, and I-I love you, dad,” she said. Vernon nodded and clenched his fist. Because she couldn’t see anything, Sophia looked for Vernon. “D-dad… I-I can’t see anything… P-please, h-hold my hand…”
Vernon came to a halt and took Sophia’s hand. “I’m here…” Vernon bowed and turned away because losing a child hurts him as a father.
“Can I go with Mom and Grandma, Dad?”
Vernon nodded and gripped Sophia's hand tighter.
“You’re not alone, Dad; you still have a daughter and grandchildren.”
Vernon cried quietly and nodded. Sophia closed her eyes and smiled. “S-she won,” Sophia whispered before letting go of Vernon’s hand. Vernon burst into tears and kissed Sophia on the forehead.
“Brother Vernon!”
Carlito came to a halt when he discovered Sophia was dead, and he turned inside the room to discover Sharlene was also dead. As he looked at Sophia, he softened his grip on Vernon’s shoulder.
Although Sophia has committed many sins in their family and has turned traitor, he cannot deny that Sophia is still their niece. Ferdinand used her to win the battle.
“Come on, brother,” he said. Vernon nodded and returned inside to get another white cloth to wrap around Sophia’s body.
Vernon carried Sharlene’s body, and Carlito carried Sophia's. “We’re only looking for Fernando and the chairman,” said Carlito as they exited the building, turning to face his eldest brother, who’d been quiet.
“Uncle!”
They came to a halt when they noticed their nephews were already waiting for them to appear. It surprised the Knights to recognize the two bodies.
“Where is Scarlett?” asked Erin. Vernon looked at him and shook his head, not knowing where Scarlett was going.
“F–ck! He’ll find Ferdinand and Grandpa.”
Rios and Erin left off somewhere to find Scarlett. Before leaving the quarters, they took a deep breath.
