Chapter 62: Chapter 62

SCARLETT’s POV

I took a deep breath and began organizing the items we were going to bring. I'm eager to get to Ferdinand’s quarters and anxious about my grandfather, mother, and children.

So, I grabbed the necklace Carrie had given me and closed my eyes, not knowing what to do first. My plans are no longer being carried out. Damn. I clenched my fists and reloaded my weapons because I wanted to confront Ferdinand myself.

I only came to a halt when I heard shouting.

“Shouldn’t we tell Scarlett the truth right now? Do we need to wait for her to remember?”

I frowned and moved closer to the door to look at them. I noticed they were arguing.

“Ara…”

“You don’t get it; tell her the truth! Scarlett is in too much pain!”

“Ara is right; I was mistaken in blaming everything on Scarlett because I forgot that our family and Ferdinand had a long history of conflict.”

Because of what I heard, my eyes widened, and I covered my mouth. What does Dianne mean? Ferdinand and our family have been in conflict for a long time?

I leaned against the wall and listened to what they said, but I couldn’t make a sound, so they didn’t notice I’m listening to them. I inhaled deeply and clenched my fists.

“In the current situation, we can’t tell her everything; she’ll suffer even more.”

“We have to trust her; I have faith in Scarlett’s abilities, and it’s not just for her, but for our entire family.”

“I can’t bear seeing her suffer, especially since her children are also involved in this.”

As my tears continued to fall, I closed my eyes because they still think about me until the end. Why did I ignore such an important thing? I was so mad that I forgot there were people fighting alongside me for our family. I bowed and bit my lower lip.

“If you don’t tell her, I’ll tell her.”

“Ara!”

“What? You can’t stop me! I’m going to tell her the truth! I will tell her who killed Grandma! Scarlett adores Grandma!”

What I heard surprised me. So, they all know who murdered Grandma. I gulped and combed my hair.

“Ara, please stop.”

“No, Carter! You and Grandpa are the same! He knew who killed Grandma, but did nothing! He didn’t do justice to Grandma’s death!”

When I felt it hurt like it was being split apart, I was stunned and held my head. I covered my mouth to avoid making any noise.

“Ferdinand killed grandma, right? But you kept all that a secret from us for a long time! Grandma sacrificed herself to protect us! To protect our family! To save Scarlett from him!”

My eyes widened, and I tightened my grip on my head, worsening the pain. As images flashed through my mind, I tightly closed my eyes. The images from that night’s event.

Ferdinand… The man with the tattoo.

He murdered Grandma and committed a heinous crime against her and the mansion’s staff.

“Scarlett!”

Because I remembered everything, my eyes widened, and I sat on the floor gasping for breath and silently sobbing. I recall the entire incident surrounding Grandma’s tragic death. My family was the victim of a tragedy.

I stood up, clenched my fists tightly as they trembled, and looked at my cousins, who were still fighting. My eyes went completely blank as I wiped away my tears.

“I will finish this fight,” I whispered as I returned to reorganize my belongings…

THIRD POV

The Knights are still debating whether to reveal the truth to Scarlett.

“Oh, my gosh. I didn’t know about this. I just heard from Scarlett that she knew something about what happened before, but I didn’t think she felt this serious,” Claire said, covering her mouth because the Knight family is dealing with more than just a crisis.

“F–ck!” Dominic yelled, slamming the table because he was so sorry for not knowing Scarlett’s feelings and hurting his wife.

“But for now, let’s leave her alone. Scarlett’s mind it messed up,” said Rios, looking at Ara, who sat on the sofa to keep quiet.

“Let’s concentrate on our plan,” said Carter. They nodded and returned their attention to their plans.

They don’t realize that Scarlett has other plans.

Scarlett dressed, put her guns in her gun pocket, and went to Ferdinand’s quarters to blow them up. She also tied her hair, put on boots, and tucked a gun into her boots, and she had also brought several bullets because she knew Ferdinand would have several men waiting for them.

Scarlett checked her watch and saw that it was nine o’clock at night, so she took a deep breath and grabbed the sleeping gas made by her cousins, which she clutched tightly. She moved closer to the door, looked at her cousins, and then back at what she was holding.

“I’m sorry,” she said as she pressed the sleeping gas and threw it into the smoke-filled living room.

“W-what is going on?”

“W-why…?”

Scarlett noticed her cousins, Claire and Dominic, had collapsed on the floor and put on a mask to protect herself from the sleeping gas. She took her belongings and left the room, but when she saw the car key, she grabbed it.

Rios raised his hand when Scarlett looked at her unconscious cousins.

“S-Scarlett…”

Scarlett grinned as she turned off all of their monitors, poured water on their outlet, and took the blueprint as she left their suite room. She then took the elevator to the parking lot where Carter’s car was.

When Scarlett exited the elevator, she dashed to her car, moved her belongings, and climbed inside before driving the car out of the hotel. Her thoughts returned to what she had heard, so she tightened her grip on the brake and steering wheel.

Scarlett arrived in the nearby area of Ferdinand’s quarters, and she pulled over near the quarters and took her belongings. She took a deep breath before proceeding to the quarters, but she stopped when she noticed many staff members guarding the massive gate, so she hid on the side.

Scarlett took the bomb, opened it, and threw it at Ferdinand’s men, causing a loud explosion that left Ferdinand’s men in chaos. She threw another bomb to create a large amount of smoke, then ran and prepared her weapons.

“There is an enemy!”

Scarlett was holding her gun and shooting men who were stationed outside the quarters. It filled her with anger.

“It’s Scarlett Knights!”

She grinned and pulled out a bomb, which she threw at the staff who greeted her and shot those in the tree.

“Scarlett Knights is here—” Scarlett grabbed one of Ferdinand’s men by the head and shoved the muzzle of a gun into his mouth before he could finish speaking.

“Where is Ferdinand?” asked Scarlett coldly. The eyes of Ferdinand’s staff widened, and he shook his head trembling. “I’ll ask it again: where is that f–cking monster?”

The man she was holding was terrified of her. While shaking his head once again, Scarlett grinned and pulled the trigger as blood splattered her clothes and she shook her head.

“Useless,” she said as she took the man’s gun and walked towards the gate.

The guards got surprised by her presence, but she grinned and shot them.

“He makes me mad,” said Scarlett as she ran inside. But she came to a halt when she heard a helicopter.

Scarlett lifted her head and noticed it had her family’s logo. Scarlett frowned, wondering what their chopper was doing here. She hid to the side to see who got off the chopper, but her eyes widened when it recognized them.

“What are Dad, Uncle Eros, Uncle Alessandro, and Uncle Carlito doing here?” she asked, surprised, but stunned, when she realized why their parents were here.

She appeared from her hiding place and confronted her father. Their parents got surprised to see her.

“Scarlett, what are you doing here? Where are they? I called Carter, but he didn’t answer.” said Vernon, as he approached his daughter, but stopped when he saw her with blood splattered on her clothes.

“Scarlett, where is Rios?” asked his uncle Eros. She averted her gaze and took a deep breath.

“Where are they, Scarlett? Why aren’t you with them?”

Scarlett bit her lip and couldn’t answer her father because she still felt guilty about what she did to her cousins.

“Don’t tell me you set off the explosion?”

Scarlett clenched her fist and remained silent. Vernon shook his head, as if he knew what his daughter had done.

“Why are you attacking here by yourself?! What if you get hurt?! Damn!”

“What did you do to your cousins, Scarlett?”

Scarlett bowed, but it surprised when she realized Ferdinand had several of the men, so she took a deep breath and quickly drew her gun and fired at Ferdinand's men who were hiding.

“Damn, Scarlett! Stay right here!”

She ignored her father and combed her hair before turning to face him.

“Stop it, Dad. I’m no longer a child, and Grandpa didn’t teach me to be a coward, and I promised Grandma I’d protect the family,” Scarlett stated emphatically. “Don’t fool me because I remember everything; I remember what happened to Grandma, so I’ll finish what Ferdinand started. No, Fernando.” she clenched her fists and once again turned away from them.

“I put them to sleep because I knew they’d just stop me,” she explained to her father and uncles. “I’m not here to scold me, dad; because I’m here to face him myself, so please… Let me go,” she said.

Her father and uncles became surprised by what she had said and remained silent. They halted when they heard applause and turned to see Solen and Sophia with their men. Scarlett had stopped to see the two people who had also caused problems in her family.

“Soledad.”

“Sophia.”

When her father and she both mentioned those names, she averted her gaze.

“Your reunion was great fun, but it won’t last long because this is the last time you’ll see each other,” said Solen, grinning.

“F-ck. A traitor, I knew it,” said Carlito as he glared at Sophia. It won’t surprise him if Sophia resembles her mother.

Scarlett tightened her fists and stared at Solen and Sophia.

“Sophia has been a traitor to our family for a long time, and she is also responsible for what happened to me, as well as the murder of my employee,” she stated. It surprises Vernon by what he heard and shook his head, not thinking Sophia could betray their family.

He took Sophia from Soledad at the time, so she wouldn’t be like her mother, but it seems he made a mistake, and no one can blame him because he would seem to have failed to raise Sophia.

“They took advantage of Sophia’s weakness to get what they wanted; I want to be mad at her, but I can’t because I believe she is still my sister, but every time I remember Ken’s suffering, I feel nothing but hatred and will kill her.”

Vernon shifted his gaze to his daughter. “Scarlett…”

Scarlett shook her head and inhaled deeply before turning to face Solen.

“Solen, you are Ferdinand’s puppet. You have nothing to do with anything mom has done; he’s just using you,” Scarlett smirked as she took another bomb. “How can I kill you?”

Solen came to a halt and stepped back.

“Shut up, Scarlett! Don’t be afraid, mom! She’s just a weakling!” Sophia yelled, glaring at Scarlett.

Scarlett laughed, the kind that made her want to cry because what she was facing was a big joke.

“How many times have I warned you, Sophia? But you didn’t listen, so now you both die together,” said Scarlett, throwing the bomb into the air and shooting it, causing another massive explosion.

“Scarlett!”

She turned to her father, grinned, and said, “I’m sorry, I still have to save them,” before going to find Ferdinand.

Vernon called his daughter, but she didn’t listen, so Alessandro grabbed his shoulder.

“Leave her alone. She knows what to do. We have to save dad,” said Alessandro, shaking his head in admiration because Scarlett seemed to remember everything she learned in training.

Carlito laughed at Scarlett’s talent. “She deserves the throne,” he smirked as he pulled out a gun. “I’m not that old to not fight. TSK. I never imagined Scarlett would trap Carter,” he added, shaking his head.

They prepared, but Vernon only looked at Solen.

“I’ll take care of Soledad,” he stated. His brothers nodded in agreement.

“We’ll take care of Fernando’s men, and he’ll pay for what he did to mom.”

Their smiles faded, and they became tense, knowing that they could outnumber Ferdinand’s men. Carlito dashed to meet their opponents.

“Damn you, Al! You’re getting old!”

“You f-ck!”

“My twin will be envious! He couldn’t come because of arthritis!”

“Haha! Asshole.”

Carlito shook his head at his older brothers, who appeared to be reverting to their youth. They will not let the person who has harmed their family escape.

Jaguar entered Scarlett’s suite room while the Knights were still unconscious because he noticed the woman had left with her belongings, and he seemed to know where Scarlett was going.

Jaguar came to a halt when he noticed the Knights were unconscious and a sleeping gas on the floor. He grinned and shook his head because Scarlett was clever enough to act on her own.

He approached Carter and slapped his cheek.

“C, wake up!” he yelled, and Carter moved and opened his eyes, but he stood up when he realized they had all passed out.

“Are you okay?”

Carter’s eyes widened as he turned to face the Jaguar.

“Holy shit! Wake them up!” he yelled as he dashed into Scarlett's room, but it was empty. “F–ck!” he yelled, holding his head in pain. When he returned to the living room, he noticed his cousins were awake.

“Holy crap! The monitor is dead!” Claire exclaimed, opening it again but noticing that the plug was wet. “No, no, no!”

“The blueprint is also missing!”

“The bombs and a few guns have also gone missing! F–ck! What happened?”

Jaguar laughed because Scarlett had deceived her cousin. They looked at him, stunned, because they didn’t recognize the man in front of them.

“I saw Scarlett leave. I thought she was just going somewhere, but it looks like I know what she’s going to do.” Jaguar smirked and threw the sleeping gas Scarlett used to them.

“Damn, I knew it! I saw her before I passed out,” Rios grumbled, as he hadn't expected, Scarlett to trap them.

Jaguar raised his head and looked at them. “If you want to help Scarlett, let’s go; Scarlett might be ahead of you,” he said as he exited their suite room, grinning.

They went to the parking lot, and he laughed when he heard Carter curse because his car was no longer there.

“She used it! F–ck!”

Jaguar grinned and punched Carter in the chest. “One point for her,” he said. Carter stared him down, but Jaguar laughed and threw his car keys at him.

“Oh right, let’s go!”

They are being driven to the quarters after getting into their cars. When they arrived at the quarters, they noticed Scarlett’s car and a burning area of the quarters.

“Did she do this?”

“I cannot believe it!”

They dashed towards the quarters but came to a halt when they noticed their chopper in Ferdinand's large yard.

“What did our chopper do here? Our logo is visible!”

Rios slapped his forehead because he appeared to know that their parents were here. They also saw their Uncle Vernon fighting with Ferdinand's men and Soledad in the distance.

“OH MY GOSH! Uncle Vernon!”

Carter stared at their female cousins for being too noisy.

“Damn! Where is Scarlett?!?” Dominic exclaimed, irritated that they couldn’t see Scarlett.

“Go! Find her!” Jaguar yelled at Dominic, who nodded and prepared to run after Scarlett.

“Ferdinand has more personnel than Solen. F–ck!” said Jaguar, and noticing that many of Ferdinand’s men were about to meet them, he took out a gun, put the bullet, and fired at a man hiding in the garden.

“Go! Save them! Let me handle them!” Jaguar yelled, motioning for them to leave, but Carter remained by his side. “What? I said go! We’re going to die here if we stay here!”

Carter grinned and pulled out two guns. “Do you think I’ll abandon you here?”

Jaguar came to a halt while raising his middle finger at Carter and shooting some more men.

“You traitor!” yelled a man at Jaguar. He grinned, pulled the man, and pointed his gun at the man’s head.

“I’ve been a traitor for a long time,” he grinned before pulling the trigger on a gun aimed at the man’s head. “F–ck!” he muttered angrily as blood splattered on him.

“Are you okay?”

Jaguar glared at him but came to a halt when he felt Carter behind him, and Carter grabbed his gun and pulled the trigger simultaneously.

“You did this on purpose?”

Carter walked away from him, laughing.

“Your punishment…”

“Shut up.”
