Chapter 47: Chapter 47

THIRD POV

“I’m leaving, mom,” said Dominic as he waved goodbye to his mother, who was still worried about what would happen to her son.

“I’ll call, and I’ll call my children to say hello; don’t sulk.”

Ashley said nothing while her son was caressing her because Dominic said nothing about leaving; she just knew when she saw him packing his belongings.

“I have good news for you when I return.”

Ashley only nodded, but it was clear she was still sulking with her son.

“Please, just tell dad he will take care of the business, and I will return with Scarlett.”

Dominic stood up, took his bag, looked at his mother again, and held her shoulder before walking out of the mansion, but his mother called him first.

“Be careful, okay? You’ll be back alive, Dominic Austin,” said Ashley as she cried.

Dominic burst out laughing and ran to hug his mother.

“I’m not going to war, mom,” Dominic laughed, hugging his mother tightly. “But thank you so much; I promise I’ll be careful.”

Ashley did nothing but nod and kiss her son on the cheek. “All right, as long as you come back.”

Dominic nodded and ran out of the mansion, where a friend was waiting to drive him to the airport. He smiled as he held the pendant that his youngest daughter Carrie had given him.

‘Scarlett, wait for me; we’ll fight together.’

***

Scarlett begins her plans while Dominic travels to San Martin after learning that Solen Madrid has returned to work. She was also getting ready to enter Solen’s hideout.

“Are you certain about this?” asked Erin as Scarlett searched for files in Solen Madrid’s office.

Because of Rios’ help, they sneak into Solen's hideout with no one noticing.

Something is missing from the files Carter gave her to join Solen’s group. Before she and Solen Madrid meet again, she needs to prepare.

“Of course! I won’t take a risk if I’m not certain! Just find them, Brother!” Scarlett said to Erin, who was accompanying her on the mission.

“I don’t want you to get hurt, Scarlett; just listen to me.”

Scarlett took a deep breath and gave Erin, who had been worried about her, a serious look.

“Why are you still here?” asked Scarlett, and Erin turned away. “If you don’t want to do it, just let me know,” she said.

Erin came to a halt. “F-ck,” he murmured as he punched the table and began searching for files.

Scarlett bit her lower lip and came to a halt. “Brother…”

Erin shook his head and showed that he would continue searching for information.

“You can do whatever you want.” he said.

Scarlett sighed before continuing her task.

They stopped looking for the files when they heard footsteps and looked at each other. Erin motioned for her to be quiet, and he pulled out a gun to meet the people heading to Solen Madrid’s office.

He also asked Scarlett to stay put and finish everything before anything went wrong.

“Shall we get what madam requires from her office?”

“Yes, her business partners’ files. Please take them to her room.”

They exchanged another glance, and Scarlett was about to move when Erin stopped her, so she hurriedly examined all the files scattered around Solen Madrid’s table.

Scarlett looked in every part of Solen’s office and came to a halt when she came upon a folder labeled Solen Madrid’s group.

When she opened it, her eyes widened because everything inside the files was illegal, and it contained many well-known business figures, including Perkins, Stone, Moon dragon, and the Knights.

Scarlett muttered, “What the f-ck?” when she saw her surname.

She examined everything, and they were all targets of Solen Madrid.

“That fucking bitch…” she yelled, as she watched them shut her business down because of violations.

She clenched her fist and almost crumpled what she was holding in rage, remembering the many employees who had lost their jobs because the bar had closed, and Solen Madrid had done that.

She had pieced together everything that had shown that Solen had used other people to get into all of their businesses.

The lands they belong to.

The picture she saw on the next page surprised her even more. Something took aback her and found herself unable to move.

“W-why…?” she stammered. She backed away until she crashed into something and made a noise that drew Erin’s attention to her.

“Scarlett?”

Erin isn’t sure whether to prioritize Scarlett or the people who are approaching Solen’s office.

“N-no way…”

Scarlett was also trembling, either in anger or because she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

“Sh*t, Scarlett!”

Erin grabbed Scarlett, who was in daze, and shook her to wake her up.

“Scarlett! Let’s get out of here!” he said to the woman, who blinked and swallowed before turning to face Erin.

“B-Brother…”

“Not now, Scarlett! We can talk later! Let’s get out of here!”

Scarlett wiped her tears away and smiled at Erin.

They were about to leave when they stopped by the people they had been hearing earlier.

“Go ahead, Scarlett; I’ll take care of them.”

Scarlett shook her head. “No, this is my fight, brother; I will not leave you here.”

Because of Scarlett’s stubbornness, Erin sighed and combed his hair.

“Don’t be stubborn, Scarlett! They’ll catch us both if you don’t get out of here!” he pleaded. Scarlett gripped Erin’s arm tightly.

“B-Brother…”

Erin shook his head and pushed Scarlett out the window, but Scarlett didn’t move because she would rather not leave him.

“Scarlett! Please?!? Just listen to me for once!” Erin pleaded, but Scarlett just shook her head.

“F-ck!”

It almost took aback them when the door opened.

“Holy sh*t!” Erin yelled as she pushed Scarlett out the window.

“Who are you?!?” screamed the two men, who Erin shot it.

“Go away, Scarlett! I’ll take care of them!”

“No, I’ll fight as well!”

“F-ck, we’re both screwed!”

Erin had two guns ready because they could hear many people approaching the office.

“Let’s do it, Big Brother!”

Erin smirked. “I miss it,”

They smirked at each other, but first Erin approached Scarlett and tied her waist.

“For safety,” Erin winked at Scarlett, who just laughed, and the two of them faced the people about to enter the office.

Erin gave Scarlett a quick smile before grabbing her arms.

“Who are you, and how did you get in here?”

Erin smirks. “A guest…”

“Huh?!?”

Erin laughed at their ignorance.

“This, this is your guest!” Erin yelled, firing a many of bullets at the three men, who were already bathing in their blood.

“Best shot,” said Scarlett, smirking, when she saw what Erin did.

The alarm went off throughout the hideout, and they were just waiting for new arrivals when they heard a noise that let everyone know they had entered Solen Madrid’s territory.

“F-ck, Erin! There’s a lot of them!”

“I know! I know!”

Scarlett struggled against Erin, but she couldn’t get away since Erin was a man.

“Get ready,” said Erin, and Scarlett nodded and prepared for their battle.

Scarlett gripped the pendant her daughter had given her and took a deep breath before approaching the dozens of Solen’s men.

“I’m ready,” she whispered.

Sole's men stormed in and started firing.

“F-ck!” screamed Erin, but he was still holding Scarlett, who was already fighting with the men.

Erin let out a sigh and shot the man, who was about to shoot Scarlett, in the head.

“Scarlett…” he muttered before kissing Scarlett on the forehead.

“Brother, there are a lot of them! Damn it, this is all my fault!”

“It isn’t your fault.”

It clearly perplexed Scarlett when Erin pushed her out the window.

“Erin.”

Erin smiled, hugged Scarlett, and patted her on the back before closing his eyes.

“I’m sorry,” Erin whispered. Scarlett’s eyes widened as she realized what Erin was about to do.

“What are you doing?!?” asked Scarlett, confused. Erin smirked and caressed her cheek.

“You promised me one thing…”

Scarlett frowned and struggled in Erin's grip. “W-what?!?”

Erin smirked. “Don’t die.”

Scarlett was perplexed by what Erin was saying to her.

“You’re scaring me! What are you doing?!”

Erin smirked and shook his head. “I’m sorry, and I love you.”

It startled Scarlett when they heard the door open at the same time Erin pushed her forcefully out the window.

He also peeked at Scarlett, who was crying and looking at him as she was coming down.

“I’m sorry,”

Scarlett’s eyes widened as she realized what her brother Erin was going to do.

“N-no, n-no, n-no, n-no, Brother!!!”

Erin smirked and turned to face the people who had caught him.

“You made a mistake by being alone here, Mr. Knight.”

Erin laughed. “Oh, Andre, you remember me?”

Andre was stunned, but he maintained a blank expression.

“You haven’t changed at all, Knight.”

Erin laughed and combed his hair before removing his mask and throwing it in front of Anderson.

“All of people, you’ll be the one to greet me. You betrayed me twice, and even though I trusted you,” Erin said with a smile.

“People change,”

Erin’s smile faded, but he burst out laughing. “No, you haven’t changed at all, Andre.”

Andre turned away and ordered his men to take Erin, but they came to a halt when they thought Erin was going to draw a gun. But Erin surprised them by removing the bullet from his gun.

Erin looked out the window, relieved that Scarlett wasn’t there, before confronting them again.

He threw everything he was carrying in front of Andre and raised his hand, and Solen’s men grabbed him and dragged him out of the office, but he stopped in front of Andre.

“This is just the beginning. Save your fucking ass, Andre,” said Erin with a smile before dragging him away.

Andre swallowed and turned away before following Erin Knight.

Scarlett slumped on the grass, sobbing, and removed the rope and mask she was wearing to get back to Erin. She was still holding the folder she had taken from Solen’s office.

“Damn it! This isn’t my fucking plan!” Scarlett yelled angrily as she wiped her tears away.

She looked up and was about to go back upstairs when she heard a noise that sounded like it was looking for her, so she hid in a gigantic tree and gasped.

“Now that we’ve caught Erin Knight, let’s find his accomplice! I’m sure it hasn’t gone far yet.”

“Come on, Madam is calling us as well!”

Scarlett covered her mouth when she heard they had caught Erin.

She wondered where they were going when she heard they were far away. She clenched her fist and refused to leave until Erin was with her. Furthermore, she took a deep breath and was about to leave when someone covered her mouth and pointed a gun at her.

“Do not move.”

Scarlett frowned and bit the man’s hand, which she quickly removed from her mouth, before punching the man. She couldn’t see who was in front of her because it was so dark.

“Who the hell are you?!?”

The person in front of her smirked and stood up straight.

“He’s right; you’re tough.”

Scarlett asked, “What?!?”

The man smirked as he raised his hand.

Scarlett was about to leave the man when they heard footsteps again, so he pulled her in and hugged her.

“Sh, if you want Erin Knight back, stay here,” the man who was now hugging her whispered.

Scarlett just remained in their position, although she was no longer as comfortable in it. She flinched as the man’s hug tightened around her.

“Is anyone there?!?”

Scarlett’s eyes widened, and she came to a halt as they heard footsteps approaching their place. She was also startled that they had changed their spot, and her eyes widened even more when the man’s face was too close.

“F-ck,” the man mumbled as he turned to face Scarlett, who was already glaring at him.

He smirked and pressed his lips against her ear. “I’m going to kiss you, so don’t move.”

Scarlett’s eyes widened as she prepared to kick him, but the man suddenly kissed her, which surprised her even more.

“Master J?”

It irritated him and looked at them.

“What?!?”

Solen’s staff’s eyes widened as they looked at the woman with their master, who was not looking at them.

“Sorry! It will not happen again!”

The man looked at Solen’s staff, who were trembling at the knees, and hurried out in front of them.

“Let’s keep going.”

Scarlett locked her gaze on him and slapped him so hard that the man grabbed his cheek.

Scarlett screamed angrily at him and punched him in the chest. “Asshole!”

She had just left when the man grabbed her and injected her with a syringe, startling her while she stared at the man until her vision slowly blurred, and she lost consciousness.

“You’re annoying. Sleep well, my dear,” he said as he picked up Scarlett and led her to his car.

“Jaguar?”

He turned to face the person who had called him and saw Solen getting up again.

“We have caught Erin Knight.”

Jaguar raised an eyebrow. “And then what?”

Solen frowned and looked towards Jaguar’s car, but she couldn’t see who was inside because it was too dark.

“A woman again? Haven’t you come to your senses yet? You’re going to prioritize that over the mission?!?”

Jaguar gave her a playful smirk.

“Of course, she’s important to me, and don’t dare to touch her; I’ll kill you,” said Jaguar as he sat in the driver’s seat, glaring at Solen before finally getting in and driving away.

Solen clenched her fist before going inside.

While Erin stood in the center, Solen’s men surrounded him. He was kneeling, and his hands and feet are tied.

“Erin Knight,”

Erin looked up and smiled as she saw Solen Madrid on the throne.

“Solen Madrid.”

Solen grinned. “Mr. Knight, we meet again.”

Erin smiled and looked her in the eyes. “Of course, since I’m a knight, we’ll meet.”

Solen laughed because she didn’t think catching the Knights would be easy.

“It surprised me when I heard about you,” Solen said with a smile.

Erin raised his brow. “Oh, come on, I know you were expecting it.”

Solen smirked and told her men to hold Erin again.

“Do you know what I do to anyone that come into my territory?”

Erin burst out laughing. “I’ll ask you then: did you know what we were going to do to you when you entered our territory?”

Solen came to a halt, but she remained brave in front of Erin Knight.

“You taste better,” Erin laughed as he licked his lips.

Erin only looked at Andre as Solen’s eyes widened.

They hit Erin again, but he didn’t move, instead looking at the clock and shaking his head.

“Lock him up! Monitor him! He’s a knight, so don’t take your eyes off him!” said Solen emotionlessly as he walked away with the rest of his staff.

Andre walked up to Erin, who smiled at him.

“Are you happy now?”

Anderson took a deep breath and turned to face the person who was holding Erin.

“I’ll look after him.”

His companions nodded and walked away.

“Don’t be like that, Erin. I can’t help you,” said Andre as he took Erin’s arm and led him to the prison.

“Oh, come on, man, I know you betrayed me, don’t you?”

“Stop it.”

“I no longer trust you.”

Andre locked Erin inside the prison.

“Erin.”

“Get out! Just monitor me; I would rather not see you.”

Before leaving Erin alone in the dark prison, Andre sighed and shook his head.

When Andre left, two men guarded the door. Erin sighed and pressed her finger against his earring.

(“What happened, brother?!?”)

“I’m fine, no worries,” Erin sighed.

(“F-ck you, bro! I’m worried! I warned you not to do this.”)

He grinned. “You know my reasoning, Rios; I also need to know Solen’s next steps while you look after Scarlett.”

(“Speaking of her, she’s not here yet.”)

Erin comes to a halt and curses a few times as he recalls Scarlett leaving the building.

(“Scarlett isn’t here, brother; where is she?”)

Erin grabbed his ear and looked at his two guards.

“I’ll call you later,”

He pressed his earring again and punched the wall because Scarlett didn’t appear to be returned to their suite yet.

He leaned back and shut his eyes. “Where the hell are you, Scarlett?”
