Chapter 43: Chapter 43

Dominic stormed out of his office and saw his secretary, who it surprised.

“S-Sir?”

“Cancel all my meetings,” he said, wearing his suit. His secretary’s eyes widened, and he stood up.

“But, sir…”

He looked at his secretary, and his secretary bowed.

“I need to do something important, and I know I can count on you,” he smiled. When his secretary nodded, he patted him on the back.

“If anyone comes looking for me, please tell them I went somewhere.”

His secretary nodded once again, and he left the office to meet with Scarlett.

He got into his car and drove to the location where Scarlett was waiting for him.

While he was nervous and anxious because Scarlett wanted to meet him. He also at a loss for what to say to the person he loves.

There weren’t many people when he entered an exclusive bar because it was early and the bar wasn’t really open yet, so he just went straight to where Scarlett was.

Dominic also noticed Scarlett, who’d been stunned while holding a wineglass.

He sighed and came closer to Scarlett, and grabbed the wineglass.

“It’s still early, but you’re already drinking,” said Dominic.

Scarlett got startled and looked at Dominic.

“Dominic.”

Dominic smiled and sat in front of Scarlett.

“Do you want to eat? It’s my treat!” said Dominic, and he was about to call a server when Scarlett intervened.

“I didn’t call you to eat with you,” said Scarlett, causing Dominic to stop and look at the woman, who was staring at him. “I just wanted to say a few things before I leave.”

Dominic came to a halt and frowned, he was unable to understand what Scarlett was saying.

“Where are you going, and why are you leaving?” asked Dominic, frowning.

Scarlett sighed, knowing Dominic was difficult to please and that her ex-husband would interfere with her decisions.

Scarlett clenched her fists and took a deep breath.

“I will entrust you with our children; I know they’re confused about what is going on now, but I would rather not get them involved in the trouble.”

She turned to Dominic, who’s confused about her. “Just listen to me because you will look after them, and I’ll be back when everything is fine,” she said.

Dominic it still surprised because it seems he couldn’t process what Scarlett had said to him.

“Dominic…”

Dominic laughed as he shook his head and touched his lips. “Ha…! I don’t know what to say! You’re still stubborn!” he said. “I told you we’d fight together, so let me atone for all my sins!”

Dominic slammed the table to stop scolding Scarlett because he had no right to do so.

Scarlett closed her eyes and exhaled. It’s also difficult to talk to her ex-husband, but Dominic is the only person she can trust with her children.

The many years she devoted to Dominic can never return because even her family is now involved because of her decisions.

“Dominic…” she sighed. “I don’t want us to argue about it anymore; I’m leaving soon, so you can look after our children.”

Dominic shook his head and messed up his hair in frustration because Scarlett refused to listen to him.

“It’s hard for me to leave my children, but… I don’t have a choice,” said Scarlett, taking Dominic’s hand in hers. “I want to put an end to all of this, so please look after our children.”

She smiled and touched Dominic’s cheek, so Dominic’s face softened, and he nodded. He kissed Scarlett’s hand as he held it.

Scarlett came to a halt when she noticed Sophia trembling in anger. She knew Sophia was following Dominic to meet her.

“S-Scarlett!”

When Sophia came, it surprised Dominic.

“Sophia, what are you doing here?” asked Dominic, while still confused by Sophia’s presence.

Sophia clenched her fists and glared at Scarlett.

“Y-you! You were meant to do this! You’re flirting with Dominic!” Sophia yelled, and ready to punch Scarlett when Dominic intervened.

Scarlett raised her brows and looked at her half-sister, who was not looking good after learning that her father had kicked Sophia out of the mansion.

“Coming from you?” asked Scarlett, while laughing, since she had heard Sophia use those things over and over.

“S-shut up!”

Sophia was about to attack Scarlett again when Dominic grabbed her and stopped her, and Sophia struggled, but the young man would not let go.

Dominic’s jaw tightened because he thought Sophia would listen to what he said, but it didn’t matter because the woman had always been a hindrance in his edge.

“I don’t have time to argue with you, Sophia,” said Scarlett as she stood up and approached Sophia. “Put it in your little brain that I don’t care about you,” she gripped Sophia’s jaw. “If you want Dominic, go ahead; he’s yours.”

It surprised Dominic as he approached Scarlett. “S-Scarlett…”

Scarlett gave them a sly smirk. “Perfect match! Both cheaters!” she brushed her hair and turned to face Dominic. “Don’t forget what we talked about, Dominic; I’m leaving; I still have a lot to attend to.”

She turned away, but Dominic called her back, and she turned to face him.

“Can we talk again?”

She smirked and turned to face them.

“Fix your mess first, but don't involve my kids.”

She finally left them.

It irritated Dominic when Sophia interrupted his conversation with Scarlett.

“What have you done, Sophia?!? You interrupted us! I told you to stay away from me!” Dominic yelled, but Sophia kneeled in front of him.

“Please, D-Dominic… I don’t know where we’re going to live anymore. My credit cards it freezes, and Tara is looking for you,” Sophia sobbed.

“I’ll take my daughter away from you, and the conversation will be over.”

He left Sophia in tears, calling out his name.

Dominic was so irritated that he slammed the steering wheel because he couldn’t contact Scarlett. He returned the car to his office.

Scarlett smirked as Dominic’s car drove away, and she threw away the phone she was using.

“Let’s go,” she said, closing the car window and nodding as they drove away from the bar.

***

“OHH, yeah, that felt good!”

The man came to a halt when he heard his phone ring, so he took out his d-ck and put on his bathrobe.

“B-Babe? Hey—!”

He cut the woman off and took the phone call.

“Hmm?”

(“Sir, I have found information about Ms. Scarlett Knight.”)

The man raised his brows and smirked, but his smirk disappeared when he noticed the woman he was now with kneeling in front of him.

He pulled the woman’s hair violently, which surprised her.

“Get out,” he told the woman, her eyes widening.

He didn’t know the girl, and she was only here to get paid.

“W-what? I-I can't—!”

He threw cash in front of her before she could finish speaking, and she immediately picked it up.

“Get the hell out.”

The lady nodded and exited the hotel room.

The man combed his hair and returned his attention to the person he was speaking with.

“Can you repeat what you said?”

(“I found information on Ms. Scarlett Knight.”)

He smirked and sipped from the glass of wine.

“Where is she?”

(“They’re on their way to San Martin.”)

It surprised him, but he smirked.

(“Sir, she’s with her cousins.”)

“All right, just keep gathering information about her, and get the chopper ready; I’ll go to the San Martin.”

(“Yes, sir!”)

He hung up the phone and smirked at the land of the Knights.

“Scarlett, huh? It’s time to finally meet you.”
