Chapter 40: Chapter 40
It took a back Solen when she discovered what she had been looking for. She turned to face the Knights, believing that everything was planned by them, as well as clenched her fist, unsure what to do.
“You came!”
Scarlett smirked and leaned back in her chair, her legs crossed. “Of course, I want to meet her,” she said with a smile.
As they spotted Scarlett’s some pals, they just shook their heads.
“F-ck! I knew it! No one can block me except Claire,” Sander grumbled in the monitor room. Sandro patted his shoulder.
They noticed Aaron appeared to be fine.
“Are you okay, Aaron?” asked Lux, concerned about her cousin.
Solen was startled and looked at Aaron with wide eyes, since it was obvious Aaron was fine.
“Yeah, I’m still alive…” Aaron smirked at his cousins and winked at Solen, who remained silent.
She shook her head, unable to believe that her plan had turned out so badly. “I-I poisoned you!” Solen yelled, covering her mouth as she realized she had said the wrong thing.
The Knights turned to face her and glared.
“I knew it! You did something to Aaron! Damn you, old woman!” Ara yelled as she prepared to attack Solen when her brother intervened. “Let me go! I’m going to kill that old lady!”
They did not allow Ara to derail their plan.
When Aaron laughed, everyone stopped and looked at him.
“Chill guys! I just fell asleep!” said Aaron, scratching his head, knowing his cousins were worried about him.
“Damn you, Aaron! You made us worried!”
“We thought Aaron was going to die!”
“This isn’t a joke.”
Scarlett laughed and shook her head before returning her gaze to Solen, who was quiet.
“Ah, I forgot to mention, your staff that would have shot Aaron… he’s dead,” said Scarlett, looking up and pointing to the second floor.
Solen’s eyes widened as she witnessed what she saw. “W-what?” she stammered, looking up at Scarlett, who was smirking at her.
“I replaced your staff with mine to put Aaron to sleep, mixed with a strange medicine to make it look like poison, so your plan can’t fail,” she smirked, snapping her finger in the air.
Solen was even more surprised when a group of armed men approached her and pointed their guns at her staff.
She took a step back, unsure what to do.
“Don’t worry, I will not kill you,” said Scarlett as she stood up. “Not now,” she added. The twins help her walk closer to Solen, who has retreated even further. “With many of the sins you’ve committed in my family, your life will not be enough to atone for all of them.”
She stared at Solen blankly before pulling out her gun and aiming at Solen’s head, who was already sitting on the floor in fear.
“Oh, I thought you were powerful? Why do I feel you’re peeing? I’m not even doing anything.” said Scarlett as she knelt and smiled at Solen, who sat backwards on the floor.
“Aren’t you brave enough to kill Ken for not speaking? Now you seem afraid.”
Scarlett aimed her gun once more at Solen’s head, and the old lady’s eyes widened. Scarlett took another look at the gun in her hand and pointed it at her.
Solen closed her eyes, terrified of what Scarlett would do to her. It sounded her plan before Scarlett arrived, but it fell apart.
“Oh, I thought you wanted to see me at your event? What’s the matter with you now?”
Scarlett raised her eyebrows while smiling because she thought Solen was strong, but… Solen became weak compared to Young’s men when she had an encounter with them.
Scarlett burst out laughing when she pointed the gun at the old woman again and pulled the trigger. Scarlett is obviously just playing with Solen Madrid, which made the Knights wince.
“Oops, no bullets,”
Scarlett snorted because her gun didn’t fire, so she pursed her lips and looked at Solen, who was shaking with fear.
“Open your eyes, old lady,” she said, kicking Solen's legs. “Be thankful! My gun has no bullets,” she smirked and stood up, causing Solen’s eyes to widen as she held her chest, gasped.
“Solen...”
Solen came to a halt and looked up at Scarlett, who had her back to her, and bit her lip, wondering why she was worried about Scarlett when she could fight the girl.
“Even though my gun is empty of bullets, I still have this…” Scarlett pulled out a dagger, widening Solen's eyes. “What if I stab you?” Scarlett wondered.
Solen swallowed her saliva and escaped again, but Scarlett stepped on her gown.
“Are you trying to escape from me? We’re not done yet.”
Solen swallowed and turned to face Scarlett. “What do you want from me? You won for now! Let us go!” she yelled.
Scarlett smirked and raised her brows. “Answer my questions first,” said Scarlett as she knelt before Solen once again. “How should I stab you with the dagger I’m holding? In the back or in the front?” she asked, bringing the dagger closer to Solen, who swallowed.
“Or on your face? It still looks sharp.”
Scarlett stared at the sharp dagger and looked at Solen as if she were peeing in fear. “Oh, no problem! You won’t die from a single stab wound.”
Solen clenched her fist. “F-ck you!”
She came to a halt, her eyes widening as Scarlett threw the dagger, which landed on her gown. It surprised Solen as she sweat, and her breathing became heavy.
“I’m sorry, I dropped the dagger because you’re making such a noise.”
She shook her head, looked at her staff, and nodded. “Watch how your men will destroy,” she smirked as she signaled her men to complete their mission.
Scarlett sat in the chair, her arms crossed. “Finish them.”
Everyone smirked as they fought Solen’s men.
“I thought Solen was powerful.”
Scarlett adjusted her seat and leaned back to watch the show.
“According to our research, she is a novice in a field like this, and she’s trying to get over us,” said Claire as she stayed next to Scarlett.
“Everything is going as planned; I actually wanted to scare Solen so that the mastermind would come out of the cave. But he doesn’t seem to be here, and he doesn’t seem to care about Sole either,” said Scarlett. Claire nodded and returned to Solen’s spot, where the old lady remained stunned.
“When are you going to leave?”
Scarlett let out a sigh. “As soon as possible. I need to enter their lair. Scaring Solen isn’t enough; they might have a plan as well.”
Claire smirked and shook her head because she knew her friend would think this way. She sighed and patted Scarlett’s shoulder.
“I’ll handle your departure; call me if you need a reliable friend.”
Scarlett shook her head because her friend was too helpful with her plans, and she has no intention of interfering with her cousins’ plan because she has her plan as well, but she is restless and wants to protect her cousins.
She also didn’t want to let her cousins down because everyone knew they were stronger in battle than she was. Especially since she was selfish over her responsibility to her family.
So, this time, she’ll fight for her family.
Scarlett and Claire both stood up.
“Enough!” she said. Her cousins came to a halt and approached her.
She then turned to face Solen Madrid, who was staring at her.
“This will not be the last time we meet,” said Scarlett as she turned to leave the event hall.
Carter smirked as he approached Solen, pointing the gun at the older lady’s legs.
“See you soon, Solen Madrid.”
He fired his gun, but instead of a bullet, a syringe knocked Solen out, and she collapsed to the ground and lost consciousness.
Carter turned his back, and they left the event hall as if nothing had happened, and leaving Solen Madrid unconscious on the floor.
The person who had been watching them bit her lower lip and sat down.
“I-I can’t believe it; is this the real Scarlett Venice Knight?”
THE MASTERMIND smirked at what had happened, since he had been watching it for a while.
He burst out laughing as he shook his head.
“Josephine did not make a mistake in choosing you, Scarlet Knights,” he said, while looking at the Knights’ pictures and then back at the monitor.
“Jaguar.”
The young man stood up and bowed to the old man.
“Now is the time for you to meet Scarlet Knights.”
He gave him a nod.
“Yes, papa.”
The mastermind's grin widened.
“Scarlett, huh?”
