Chapter 64: Chapter 64

Almost midnight, Val stormed into her apartment in a quick dash. She rushed into her bedroom after having informed Aidan to wait downstairs for her.

She flung her bag on the bed, walked towards the closet to grab a luggage, which she threw on the bed and flipped open.

Val had made a decision when she was at attorney Chris' apartment. It was a crazy decision, but it was also necessary.

" I have to go to Seattle right now. But before then, I'll go to the office first..." Val muttered to herself as she checked for clothes in her closet to take with her.

Since Val didn't find the audio recording in Attorney Chris' laptop, Val remembered she must have a copy on the laptop she uses at work since it was in their that she copied the audio recording from before transferring it to the flash drive that she gave to attorney Chris.

She had prior thought that attorney Chris had a copy since she had seen Attorney Chris work on the audio recording on his computer. But again, even that must have been a front. After all, Val could remember that it was the same day he laced her drink and took pictures of her.

' Bastard!' Val wanted so bad to hit him at the moment. But as of now, age didn't even know if attorney Chris would get the sentence he deserves. Back when he police had her questioned, Val could tell that they didn't believe her story.

' If so, then I don't think I want to be back here in San Francisco ever again!' Val couldn't return to Citadel's after having been caught sneaking in the CEO's office, she could only be grateful that Courtney hadn't made it a news yet. Moreso, she couldn't stand being in San Francisco when most of the cops were already in her case, she didn't want to be in a place where she would have to hide her face from the cops knowing they'd probably already seen her nudes.

Even if they kept it confidential, Val still couldn't stand it.

Hence, she decided to leave for Seattle. And after the trial, she may then make a decision as to where she was going to start her new life.

' That is, if Bob wouldn't accept us' Val knew very well that this was the likeliest possibility. After all, the last thing anyone would want after a divorce trial was definitely not a relationship of any kind. Val knew this because when she'd separated herself from Mark, she didn't want any sort of relationship with anyone. She just wanted to be alone. Bob wouldn't be any different as well, it was no saying.

However, Val was certain she'd find a copy of the audio recording on the laptop in her office. So she packed her clothes and relevant stuffs to leave for Seattle right after.

She needed to hand the audio recording to Bob as apparently, he wouldn't know anything about it since attorney Chris had been working for Courtney all the while. Bob wasn't picking his calls so there was no other way Val could think of.

This was all attorney Chris' fault!

' Fucking perv!' Val cursed in her mind still with the hope that he wouldn't leak her nudes. The fact that she was able to ransack his laptop and delete some folders of her nudes and that of some other ladies had her at a bit of ease. But she would only rest until he got a jail term. Val would only have peace of mind then as attorney Chris would be incapable of leaking her nudes.

Val held each dress up and folded them into the luggage. One after the other.

Val had nothing much other than the clothes that originally belonged to her in the home, the rest were all either bought by Bob, or were already in the apartment before she moved in. She couldn't take everything along with her.

Val didn't realize how lavish she was being at the moment. She had become used to luxury and riches that she didn't mind it.

Close to an hour later, Val was finally done packing up. She carried the baggage downstairs into the car and told Aidan to take her to Citadel's.

" Are you okay?" Aidan asked as he drove down the lane. Seeing her pack her things in such a hurry, he couldn't help but inquire.

Val nodded at him without saying anything. She was too occupied with her thoughts to mind Aidan's concern.

Aidan didn't say anything after that. He didn't really understand what Val was doing, but he could pretty much tell she was moving from San Francisco.

' Poor Ms Val, She must be really traumatized. ' Aidan thought with a small shake of his head. Being her supposed body guard, he felt guilty.

Val didn't give much concern to Aidan's question as she flipped through her phone to book a flight. The flight that attorney Chris had booked for both of them has already expired since it was past the scheduled time already.

Few minutes later, they got to Union street and Val stepped out to go up to her office. After several questioning and answers thrown back and forth between Val and the security personnel, she managed to get into the building and head up to her office straight.

Val grabbed her key card from her handbag and opened the door to her office. She threw her bag on the desk and hurried to use the laptop.

" Yes!" Val cheered when she found the audio recording and she quickly copied it into her phone. She sulked at not having a spare flash drive as that would have benn even more mobile. However,

" Bob should figure out something later" she muttered in thought. Quite surprisingly, Val was excited to see Bob.

After copying the audio recording, Val contemplated whether to leave it or delete. After moments of thinking about it, she deleted the audio recording. Val rose from her seat, grabbed her handbag and looked around the place one last time.

It's only been few months by

but she'd grown quite attached to the place.

A lot had happened in the past few months. It was a sequence of events after another, and it never got boring. However, it all has come to the climax.

" Haah!" Val heaved a deep sigh, knowing everything was over and that she was off to new beginnings.

She stepped out of the office, took the elevator down to the show room, went down the stairs to the underground car park and informed Aidan to drive her to the airport.

" Where are you leaving for now, if I may ask?" Aidan finally gained the courage to ask so as to report to Bob. He didn't want to be labeled a fool when he couldn't even name where Val had gone to as her bodyguard. He has to ensure she was safe where she was going at the least.

" Washington, Seattle" Val answered in a monotonous tone. Her gaze was fixated on the road and her resolute expression was highlighted by the lights of cars all around.

' Could she be looking for closure with Mr Richardson?' Aidan thought but he never voiced out. He knew Val was currently not in the right state of mind and he dared not try to say anything to hurt her. So he kept silent and just drove her to the international airport.

It took almost an hour of driving before they got to the airport in Riverview avenue. When they got there, Aidan helped Val with her luggage into the airport.

" Sorry, the flight is delayed till 6 Am" The airline attendant shattered Val's hope when she got to the counter.
