Arhaan's P.O.V.

After hearing me, Vai turned to Khushi who was helping Api in the kitchen. While looking at her, Vai spoke up, “That's why she was like that when we met for the first time at that park.”

When I uttered confusingly, “Like what?”

“Wait a moment”. and then turning to me, he continued, “You said that they made Khushi to sign on some documents, right?"

I nodded and vai spoke up again, “No wonder. It must be the documents of will of her mother then.”

I spoke up being unable to understand that, “What do you mean vai? Will of her mother?”

“Actually I also got to know recently. And I wanted to talk to you about this. Actually I happened to meet one of our old clients. He was asking about you. When I told him about your marriage with Khushi though at first he didn't recognise Khushi but as soon as I mentioned her father's name, he immediately recognised her.

From him I got to know that Khushi's mother was also a business woman and the major shareholder of their company. And she willed her all properties on the name of Khushi. She died in an accident and from then Mr. Malik handled all the business.

If that's the case, then her father just took her home to get that sign from her and nothing else.”

Hearing vai, I just uttered in extreme anger, “What the!”

Vai also uttered angrily, “Don't you think we should” only to get stopped midway as Api got near us.

Sensing something, she asked us, “What were you two talking about to stop as soon as I got near? What is it?”

We looked at each other and not to stress her, I spoke up, “Nothing api, just business stuffs.”

She sat with us and we kept talking on random things. After dinner when everyone got to their respective rooms, vai and me talked on that matter again.

After a while when I was about to forward towards my room, Vai uttered, “Strange!”

I turned to him and he spoke up, “I mean it's very unlikely of you."

I uttered confusingly, “What do you mean, vai?”

Vai spoke up, “Nothing much. It's just that you are not making any faces to do something for Khushi rather you seem to be quite angry on them as they did all this to Khushi. Though I am very happy with this but just wanted to know directly from you. Have you decided to give your relationship a chance? As whatever the matter was, she is not like as you thought but a nice girl. So I think you should”

Interrupting him midway, I spoke up, “It's nothing like that vai. We agreed to be friends. And you know me very well to know that I don't believe in love or something like that.

Though I also hurt her but I don't want to get myself fall in the same level of Khushi's so called family members. And after whatever they did, they just can't get away like that. I just hate pathetic excuses of people. So they have to pay whether Khushi agreed with me in this.”

Vai just nodded at that and I forwarded towards my room. Entering my room, I found Khushi staring at her phone.

And when she answered to my question while stammering, I couldn't help uttering coldly while glaring at her.

And to my utter surprise she asked my permission for something. Not just asked as it was more like begging. It took me sometime to realize why she was being like that.

Khushi's P.O.V.

I kept staring at the phone but didn't get to receive the call as I already know what he would ask me. But when the message came, I kept staring at the screen.

"Tomorrow is the last date of application, Khushi. Are you really not gonna apply?"

I wanted to apply but kept thinking what if Arhaan opposed it!

Right then Arhaan entered the room and spoke up seeing me looking at the phone sadly, "What happened, Khushi?"

"I should just ask him, right?" uttering that under my breath, I spoke up while stammering when Arhaan asked me the same question for the third time, "Khushi, what is it? Would you mind to tell me?"

"Arhaan, actually I wa..want to con..continue my st..study."

Only to get him glaring at me as he uttered coldly, "Come again. What did you say?"

I totally got silent then hearing his tone. He scoffed irritatingly and uttered, "Is this how you used to talk in your house?"

I gave him a confused look and he uttered again, "Keep in mind that you are not there anymore. And regardless of the place, it's your life, Khushi. You have the right to take decisions. Why are you making it look like you are begging for something to do with your life! If you want to continue your study, then just go for it. You don't need anyone's permission for that."

Hearing him, I really didn't get myself to utter anything as I was busy with controlling my tears. I uttered after a while with a little bit of smile though my eyes were filled with tears, "Thank you."

Saying this, I turned to go to poolside when he uttered again, "Don't thank me. I didn't do anything to get to hear that. And one more thing.."

As he said this, his face turned damn serious, "I am warning you for the first and last time. I don't want to hear that type of stammering voice coming out from your mouth again. Not at least when I am there with you."

I only gave him a confused look and he uttered, “We agreed to be friends, right? And friends are supposed to support each other."

I only managed a nod and was about to get out of the room when he uttered again, "Where are you going?"

"Downstairs." I uttered only to get him saying, "No need to get out of the room now. Just stay here."

I again gave him a confused look and he uttered again, "I mean you must be tired. Get some sleep."

As I was really tired, I nodded at him. And then kept looking around the room while thinking where should I sleep.

He might have understood that as he uttered, "You take the bed. I will sleep on the couch."

"I should take the couch. I am shorter." as I uttered this, he smiled a little and uttered in a sarcastic tone, "That's true, shortie. But you don't worry. It's okay."

I gave him a confused look and he just pointed towards the bed. When I uttered again, “But you?"

He uttered while trying to convince me, “It's okay, Khushi. I don’t have any problem with sleeping on couch. And frankly I am habituated as most of the time I just happen to sleep on couch. Because I generally fall asleep while working.”

I nodded only to utter otherwise again at the second moment, “But still"

May be it made him reach his patience limit as he uttered in irritation, “Khushi, will you please stop it now and sleep? We have many things to do now."

Hearing him, I gave him a confused look and he uttered immediately, “I mean, I have got some works to complete now. So stop it and please sleep.”

Nodding at him, I got on the bed and closed my eyes. I fell asleep at some point while thinking whether this was really happening for real with my life. Earlier the words of Arhaan towards me were just hurting and hateful and now I just happened to get confused at his words.

At night I woke up suddenly and sat with a thud after having a dream of my childhood. Ammi was there with me in my dream at first but when she started getting away from me, I woke up with scream, “NO.”

Remembering ammi and the accident, my eyes got all teary. I kept sitting in dark while shedding tears until the light of the room was suddenly lit on.

Arhaan who was on couch, got near me and uttered, “What happened Khushi?"

I kept staring at him without uttering anything for a while. When he uttered again while shaking my hand, “Khushi?"

I only managed to utter, “Ammi!" and got silent again.

Arhaan also kept silent for a while hearing me and then uttered, “It's okay, Khushi. Get some sleep for now.”

Finding nothing to do, I lied down again wiping my eyes. After standing for a while, Arhaan forwarded towards the couch.

When I uttered, “Arhaan?”, he turned to me and I spoke up again, “You also can sleep on the bed.”

He gave me a confusing look at first then spoke up, “No, it's okay. I am fine on couch."

“Wait a moment." saying this, I got up again and made a barrier line of cushions in the middle of the bed whereas he just kept looking at me confusingly as I did this.

When I was done, I spoke up again, “Which side you want to take?"

He spoke up with uttered confusion, “What?”

Then pointing at the left side, I uttered, “I will take this side and you can take the other."

Saying this, I got on my side and lied down when he uttered, “It's really not necessary.”

I just uttered, “Please.” and he became all quiet. Without uttering anything, he also got on the bed.

I turned other side after uttering, “Thank you.” before he could say something. I just didn't want to make him sleep on couch when I will be sleeping on bed peacefully. Why would he do that for me!

He had already done enough for me as I was feeling like to get relief from a guilt as he believed me.

The next morning when I was helping Api in kitchen, I spoke up, “Api, I am going to continue my study. Today is the last day of application. So after breakfast"

Interrupting me in between, Api spoke up, “That's really good, dear. But then why are you here in the kitchen now? Go and get ready. I will get the breakfast."

When I tried to say otherwise, she uttered again, “GO.”

Happily nodding at her, I forwarded towards my room. Getting ready by the time I was down, api was done with setting the table for breakfast and everyone was on the table.

Seeing me, Uncle spoke up, “Come dear. Let’s take breakfast.”

While eating api spoke up, “Arhaan, you gonna take her to College, right?"

Before Arhaan could say something, I spoke up, “It's not necessary Api. I can just take a taxi."

Arhaan uttered looking at me, “I will take her there api." and I got silent.

Nodded at that, Api uttered, “That's good."

After breakfast, I forwarded towards the college with Arhaan in his car. When we reached there, Arhaan spoke up, “You need me to go with you for the application?"

I just shook my head and got down from the car and forwarded towards the college. I was about to enter but got stopped as I heard someone uttering my name, “Khushi?"

I turned to him and he spoke up, “Finally, you came. You know, it's last day of application today. I thought you decided not to apply. Let's go and get this application thing done."

“You didn't do it yet?” I asked him being confused only to get him utter, “No. I was waiting for you.” as if it was an obvious thing.

Finding nothing else to say, I just smiled awkwardly and entered into the college and he followed me.

Little did I know someone was glaring at us for the whole time......
