Khushi’s P.O.V.

When Arhaan uttered all those, I just kept staring at him. The look on his face was like he got the rough idea of my life somewhat.

I spoke up then, “You don’t need to say sorry. You didn’t do anything to say sorry to me. So don't say it. Whatever the matter was, but it's true that it was just me to drag you in this. So it should be me to say sorry not you.”

Saying this, I turned to leave again but got stopped hearing him, “Then don't leave.”

When I kept standing back facing him without turning to him, he came in front of me. He uttered with an apologetic face, “It's true that I got dragged but I also didn't give you the chance to explain your act. I just thought of myself. I was busy being selfish.”

I was getting confused at Arhaan's behaviour and spoke up, “No, Arhaan. It's not the matter. It's just that we two were from different circumstances. How would you have known that vai and abbu..”

I stopped saying at this point and looked aside while trying to control tears as they were threatening to roll down any moment again but maybe I got obvious as I heard him uttering, “I am not asking you anything. I have got enough.”

I turned and kept staring at him and he continued, “Look Khushi, I am a straight forward person. So I am gonna be straight with you too. I am not going to say 'I love you' as I don't. But I don't hate you either now. We can be friends if you want.”

I gave him a confused look as I uttered, “Friends?”

He nodded and spoke up, “Look, I am that type of person who would scoff at anyone who would talk about love. I don't believe in love. So if you are expecting something like this from me, then I won't say anything. But we can be friends as we are already in this situation where life made us stand. Will this be enough for you?”

I kept quiet while pondering what to say. It's not like that it wasn't enough for me. As I was a girl who had always been left behind all by myself whatever the situation was.

It's also not like I couldn't believe Arhaan as he already hurt me. It's just I wasn't being sure if this was for really happening this way.

Arhaan's P.O.V.

When Khushi kept all silent, I thought she wasn't being able to believe me as I was also like her so called family members for all this time.

I was hating the fact that I was being thought of as in the same level with those pathetic excuse of human beings and she was leaving with such kind of thought about relationships.

Being unable to digest it, I spoke up again, “Look Khushi, will you please believe me for this time for once? If you feel, I am misbehaving again, you can leave then also, right?"

To my utter surprise, she was still silent. Shouldn't she need to say something!

I mean I should get one chance at least. Here I am going on pleading to her and she was just playing the role of being mute.

Then being impatient and likewise the way I am, I spoke up, “Listen Khushi, I believed you when you asked me to believe you, remember? So you have to believe me this time regardless I am looking trustworthy to you. You are not getting the option of 'saying no to me now."

She seemed to get quite shocked hearing me this time. And then giving her a little bit of smile, I spoke up, “Shall we go home now? Everyone must be waiting for us."

She gave me a blank look and when I uttered, “Please.” , she nodded at me with teary eyes.

The word home generally gets anyone to smile remembering all the sweet memories and the person waiting for them there but for this girl its just opposite may be and that is even in worst sense to become like this.

I forwarded towards my car and opened the door for Khushi. When she looked at me, I uttered, “Get in.”

She got in nodding at me. Then I also got in the driving seat and forwarded towards our home. Khushi was all silent for the whole time until I uttered which I already had decided, “And one more thing, I will surely get back to your brother and father."

I got shocked hearing her as she uttered immediately, “No. It's not necessary.”

I couldn't help speaking up with a cold tone, “And just what is motivating you to defend them?”

Seriously I didn't believe myself whether I heard her right when she ended up uttering, “They are my family, Arhaan."

Arhaan spoke up in a confused tone, “What did you say?”

She again got silent and I spoke up in a sarcastic tone, “Are you even for serious? Do you even know the meaning of family?”

She got her head down hearing me and I realised what I just said.

I spoke up again, “Look, I didn't mean to hurt you. I just..”

She spoke up interrupting me turning to me, “I know but it's not necessary.”

And as soon as she completed her say, she looked aside.

And this time I didn't get to utter anything. But deep within me, the decision was already taken no matter what Khushi would say now.

Then I kept driving silently. When we reached our home, it was already evening. Esha was standing by the door. Seeing us, she gave a toothy smile and got near Khushi as she uttered, “Aunty.”

Khushi took her in her arms smilingly. Though it was not for the first time for me to see this but this time I smiled heartily.

Api also came forward and uttered happily, “It's good that you two are back. Without you two, it was like incomplete here. And Esha was waiting by the gate for you for quite long.”

Muhib Vai also spoke up from living room, “Let them come in, Areesha. Why are you making them to stand at the door?"

Api gave vai a glaring look and then spoke up smilingly looking at us, “You two get freshen up and come downstairs. I am bringing something for you to eat."

Nodding at Api, we got upstairs and Esha got down and went to Vai.

Entering the room, I spoke up, “You wanna get freshen up first?”

Khushi spoke up while shaking her head, “No. It's okay. You go ahead.”

Getting freshen up, I waited for Khushi. When she was done, we got downstairs together.

After talking happily over random stuffs, we took our evening snacks. Khushi was all happy and I was looking at her every few minutes.

Then I found Vai giving me confused look and I stopped looking at her immediately.

After sometime Api and Khushi went towards kitchen to prepare dinner and Vai spoke up, “Arhaan, what's the matter with you?”

I spoke up looking straight to him, ”Vai, I have something to tell you."

He uttered making a serious face, “Go on.”

I explained him all the things about Khushi only to get him utter shockingly, “What! How could they!”

Both of us turned to Khushi who was helping Api in kitchen happily. Then vai turned to me and spoke up something getting me uttered in extreme anger, “What the!"

Khushi’s P.O.V.

After dinner, I got back to my room for saying my prayer. After prayer I was about to get out of my room but got stopped when I heard my phone ringing.

I got near the phone but didn't get to answer the call rather kept staring at the phone screen. When the call got cut, a message from the same caller ID appeared in the phone screen.

I kept staring at the message while thinking what to do and right then Arhaan entered the room.

Maybe he saw me staring at the phone screen and uttered normally, “What happened, Khushi?”

I spoke up while stammering and giving him a pleading look only to get him glaring at me again.

“Arhaan, actually I wa..want to con..continue my st..study.”

Only to get him glaring at me as he uttered, “Come again. What did you say?”

I totally got silent hearing his tone then and he just kept glaring at me....
