Chapter 17: Chapter 17
I went out of the bathroom after a quick shower wearing only my black lace sleeveless dress. Wade said that we will be having dinner together with Mr. Hidalgo and he also said that I should wear something formal. Wade wasn't in the room when I went out. I kept on pulling the zipper at the back of my dress but it seems pretty hard to do.
"Do you want help with that?" Wade suddenly appeared in the doorway. I didn't notice him opened the door. I must be caught up in this whole zipper thing.
"I think I can manage," I said and tried to zip it harder. I tried again but I lost my balance and was about to kiss the floor when strong arms held me in place.
"Come on, let me help you." He said as went behind my back. I felt his fingers touched my back. I pulled my hair up so he can zip it until my neck.
"You smell so good," He said and I could feel him sniffing on my neck. Oh my God! What is he doing? He started kissing my nape and I should've stopped him but I didn't. There was a part of me that liked what he was doing. "God, you're so good."
Wade was still kissing me when we heard a knock on the door. I immediately pulled from his touch and pretended to be busy while I took my bag. What the hell just happened? Wade opened the door and it was one of his men. We were informed that Mr. Hidalgo is already at the resto which means we are running late already.
"Cami, I'm sorr-"
"Wade let's just go, we're late already," I said and walked past him to the door.
"Alright, but we'll talk later, okay?" He said when he caught up with me. We only walked towards the resto since it was just near our villa.
We were greeted by the staff when we got there and they guided us towards the table where Mr. Hidalgo was. Oh, he wasn't alone when he came.
"There you are lovely couple." Derek Hidalgo said and stood as we arrived. The beautiful woman behind her stood as well. I wonder who she is.
"We're very sorry we're late," I said.
"We're glad to be here," Wade said as he shook Derek's hand as a greeting.
"Well, I would like you to meet my wife, Hailey. Hon, these are Mr. Wade Harris and his wife Camierre Harris." Derek said. I just wanted to address him in my mind as Derek since his last name is so long.
"It's a pleasure to meet you," Hailey said.
"The pleasure is ours," I said.
After exchanging some pleasantries, we settled on our table and called for the waiter. We left all the decisions regarding dinner to the couple across us since they know what could be the most delicious in here.
"How long have you been married?" I asked Hailey. They looked so young as well. I think we just have the same age.
"We've been married for a year already. How about you two? When did you get married?" She said.
Oh, we just got married last month." I said. "It hasn't been long like yours."
"Well, there's still a lifetime in store for us to share," Wade said as he put his arm at the back of my chair. What's gotten into him? I felt awkward especially after what happened before we came here. I was carried away that I forgot that we shouldn't be doing it. We are not real couples and we shouldn't get too intimate with one another.
"How sweet! You two looked really good together." Hailey said dramatically. "I feel happy for you, Cami."
If only you know, Hailey. Ours isn't like your marriage. We didn't make it out of love and promises. If only I could say that out loud.
"Are you jealous of them? You have me, there's no need for that." Derek said jokingly as he held his wife's hand.
"Of course not hon, I was just saying that they are a lovely couple. I mean, look at them. They're just like us before when we just got married." Hailey said dreamily. I could tell by her eyes that she was a happy bride during his wedding.
"Anyways, have you had the chance to look around? Our resorts offer only the best! We have floating cottages, night parties, and many more." Hailey said. I've just known her but I could tell that she is a nice person to be with.
"We wanted to but we were tired from the trip so we decided to rest earlier." I said sadly. I was excited about this trip but I wouldn't pressure Wade to have fun first. He was here for business and the vacation was just a bonus.
"We'll sure to check all of that tomorrow. I told her that this is a vacation so I promise we'll have fun here. And besides, we will be here for days so there's no need to rush things." Wade said. I was shocked. I never thought that he was thinking of me as well and not just the business deal.
"That's good to know, I'm sure Cami would love this place the way I did," Hailey said. She looked at me and nodded as I would agree with her. I think I would, I am not a hard person to please and places such as this one are a gem.
"Hon, don't you agree with me?" She said and we all turned to Derek.
"Of course, I do. Who wouldn't? We've made sure our guests would love this place from the very start." He said.
The dinner ended and the gentlemen started to talk about business. Hailey and I excused ourselves and went near the shore. The beach is peaceful and calm tonight. We sat in the sand and talked about things.
"Do you think they'll come up with a business agreement tonight?" I asked her. I just needed something to talk to while we were looking at the busy people nearby.
"I think so," She said. "They seem to like each other and that's a good sign when you want to do business with someone."
"Yeah, I can see that as well, I just hoped for the best tonight," I said as I continued looking around. "By the way, what's with the crowd? Is this always like this in your resort?"
"Oh no, not every night though. There is just a party happening later that's why people kept coming. It's a night party at the bar with live bands. People find that fun." She said.
"Oh, so that explains why there's a ton load of people here," I said.
"It's fun, are you not into parties?" She said.
"I am, it's just that right now, it's not on my priorities." I said. I remember before that I was a fan of parties but not until I met Wade and married him.
"Yeah, I get you, you just got married, and things are piling up for you." She said. "I remembered when Derek and I got married; the first few months were just about adjusting."
"You love him a lot, don't you? I can see it in your eyes and the way you look at him."
"Of course, we wouldn't get married if I didn't, right? I mean, marriage is sacred. It should only be done when two people love each other. That's the purpose of weddings." She said.
"Of course," I said and faked a smile. She doesn't know that our marriage was nothing like theirs and that is her true personal opinion. Marriage should've been done between two people in love.
