I shifted uncomfortably on my seat. I pretended that I didn't hear what he said and just closed my eyes.

"You can sleep if you want, you know." He said.

"And leave you driving alone?" No way! I won't do that. He might fall asleep if I do that.

"I won't fall asleep I assure you." He said. Did he hear it? Did I say it out loud?

"I'm not sleepy. I had a good night's sleep last night thinking about this vacation. So, who are you dealing with on that resort?" I said trying to change the topic.

"I want to seal a deal with a certain Mr. Derek Hidalgo." Who is that? I haven't heard of that name before.

I searched his name online so I'll have an idea of who we're meeting there.

"He is a fine gentleman and a young businessman," I said when I've read an article about him.

"What?!" He said as he turned to me.

"I said he's a fine gentlem-"

"I heard that. Are you attracted to him?" He said coldly.

"What?!" Now, it was my time to be shocked. What is he talking about?

"You said he's a fine gentleman so are you attracted to him?" He said as if his question was obvious.

"No! I don't! I just searched for him online. I just want to know how he looks if I was gonna meet him." I said. "But what if I am attracted to him? What is it to you? It's not like you love me and we have a romantic relationship because we don't.

"Yeah, right." He said softly that I almost didn't hear it.

I looked at him but he was too focused on driving. I couldn't see any emotions in his eyes or his face. He was just calm and collected.

"I mean, he's hot and handsome. Plus, he is a successful businessman. I'm sure girls would die to have him." I said.

"Alright, I get it. Okay? You've got a crush on him, big time." He said grumpily. What? Do you think you're the only handsome man in this planet?

"I don't have a crush on him, alright? I was just reading what I saw here on my search" I said while laughing. "Are you annoyed because someone is handsome and hot at the same time just as you are?"

"What?! Why would I be annoy-" He stopped midsentence and I don't know why. I looked at him and he was also staring at me. "So, you find me hot and handsome then?"

Uh oh. I think I slipped right there.

"What?" I acted innocent. "Did I say that?"

"You just said it, babe. You said that I'm hot and handsome. So, am I your crush now, my wife?"

"I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn't say that. Maybe you heard it wrong." I said.

"Alright, if you say so." He said with a smug look on his face. Oh, what a jerk! Now, he might be full of himself.

I woke up when I felt a light tapping on my face. What is it now? I moved and rubbed my eyes.

"Wake up, sleepyhead, we're here." I heard Wade's voice.

I opened my eyes and saw Wade leaning over me from the outside. Wow, I slept and didn't even notice that we stopped already. I looked at Wade whose face was just inches apart from mine. I cleared my throat and he moved back.

"I'm sorry I slept on you," I said. When did I exactly fell asleep? It must be lonely driving while your shotgun passenger is asleep. I pity him. He must be so tired.

"It's really fine, don't think about it. Come on; let's go to our villa so you can rest." He said as he helped me get out of the car.

"Thank you," I said when I was outside.

I looked around and was amazed by the beauty of the place. I can even smell the sea air from their parking lot. Wow, fresh air and nature all in one.

We heard some people approaching so we turned to them.

"Welcome to Casa Hidalgo! Hi, I am Derek Hidalgo, you must be Wade Harris?" He said.

"Yes, I am and this is my wife, Camierre," Wade said as he held my waist. Wow! He sure knows how to act as a real husband.

"It's nice to meet you both. I hope you enjoy your stay here." He said as he shook hands with us.

"We sure will," I said as I smiled widely. This is gonna be fun. I am excited to go swimming already.

"Alright, I'll leave you with our ever-reliable helpers here and they'll fill you in. I'll see you tonight for dinner?" He said and I believe that question was for Wade.

"Yes, we'll see you later." Wade said.

"Alright then, if you'll excuse me." He said and left us there.

"This place is so beautiful," I said. "I'm sure I'm gonna love it here."

"Of course you will, you were swooning over him." He said.

"Why do you sound so annoyed again? I didn't do anting, did I?" I said.

"You did nothing except gave him your sweetest smile." He said.

"What?! I did not!" I said while laughing. "You are just imagining things. I was giving him my usual smile."

"Tsk. Let's just go." He said as he followed the staff of the resort on the way to our villa.

I walked fast just so I could catch up with him. He seemed pretty annoyed once again.

"Hey, wait for me, will you?" I said as I struggled to walk fast.

"Just for the record, I'm way handsome than he is." He said when he turned to me. I was now beside him.

"Wait, am I hearing jealousy in your voice?" I teased him. I even poked his side just so he'll answer my question.

"Of course not! Why would I?" He said too defensively that I would say he was lying.

"I think you are! Why would you act like that?

Why would he act like that if he wasn't affected? Right?

But then again, maybe, he just didn't want me to be seen with other men while we're still married. Yes, that must be it.
