Chapter 66: Chapter 66

Mia left the Crystal Moon pack and journeyed to her own father's house, the Diamond Shadow pack. Her heart was heavy with pain and sadness, feeling betrayed by her own father.

This would be the first time of her confronting her dad for anything. She had always been their obedient daughter. But why couldn't he just tell her about it?

Why did he allow things to get this far?

As she walked home, she rehearsed the argument she would have with him over and over in her head. How could he have made such a selfish decision, risking the safety and stability of the entire pack just to become the Alpha? Why had he kept it all hidden from her for so many years?

Mia arrived home fuming with anger, her mind still reeling from the shocking revelation about the demon and the orbs portrait. She had so many questions, and her father had some explaining to do.

Without even taking off her coat, Mia stormed into the living room where her father was seated, reading a book. He looked up and smiled at her, but his smile quickly faded when he saw the expression on her face.

"Mia, what's wrong?" He asked, sitting his book on the table.

"Everything is wrong dad, when did you plan on telling me the truth just when?" Her forehead puckered in annoyance. "I just found out that you've been hiding something from me for years," Mia said, her voice trembling with emotion.

"Mia, I do not understand what you're talking about. Can you please calm down and make me understand what you mean, please?" His brows furrowed in confusion.

"Do not act innocent, Dad," Mia snapped. "You've been keeping secrets from me for years," she said. This time, her voice was firm and unwavering.

Her father looked surprised and confused. "What secrets are you talking about, Mia?"

"The demon," Mia said, her voice rising. "The orbs portrait. How could you keep something like that from me for so long?" Mia spat, feeling the anger bubbling inside her.

Her father sighed heavily, his expression grave. He looked down at his hands, the guilt evident on his face.

"Mia, I know you're upset, but you have to understand. It was a decision we made a long time ago, when I was much younger and foolish," he said, and added, "I know I made a mistake, Mia. I should have told you, but I was afraid of what you would think of me, afraid of how you would react."

"That's not good enough," Mia said, crossing her arms over her chest. "You made a deal with a demon to gain power, and you didn't even tell me about it. What kind of father does that?"

"I'm sorry, Mia," her father said, looking ashamed. "I never meant for things to turn out this way. I just wanted to protect our family and make sure we were safe."

"And what about me?" Mia asked. "What about my safety? Did you ever think about that?"

Her father looked at her, his eyes filled with regret. "I know I made a mistake, Mia. I should have told you the truth a long time ago. But please, try to understand. I did it for our family, for you."

Mia shook her head. "I can not understand, Dad. I can not forgive you for this. How could you do something so selfish?"

Her father hung his head, unable to meet her gaze. "I know I messed up, Mia. I'm sorry. I just hope one day you can find it in your heart to forgive me."

Mia sighed heavily, feeling a mix of anger and sadness. She didn't know if she could forgive her father for this, but she knew she needed some time to process everything.

"I need some time to think," she said finally. "I can't talk about this anymore right now."

Her father nodded, looking pained. "Mia. I'll be here when you're ready to talk. Sometimes, we have to make difficult decisions to protect what we love and want to keep. I thought I was doing the right thing," He said, trying to reach out a hand to touch Mia.

Mia pulled her hand away. She felt her anger start to dissipate, replaced by a feeling of sadness and disappointment.

Still feeling hurt and betrayed, she said, "I need some time to process all of this, Dad. I just can't believe you would keep something like this from me."

"I understand, Mia," her father said, his voice gentle. "Take all the time you need. But just know that everything I did, I did it out of the love for our pack."

Mia turned to walk out of the room but halted in her tracks and glanced over her shoulder. She parted her lips to talk, but nothing came out of them, so she snapped them shut. Her mind was still reeling from the shocking revelation. She didn't know what the future held for her family, but she knew things would never be the same again.

Mia nodded, her eyes still brimming with tears. She turned and walked out of the living room, her mind filled with thoughts and emotions. She didn't know what to do next, but one thing was clear, her trust in her father had been shattered, and it would take a long time to repair.

Going back to her room, which the maid had arranged, she noticed the maid had also brought out fresh clothes, which were laid on the bed.

Left for Mia, she was ready to set out back to the Crystal Moon pack tonight, but her mother would be worried sick, and she didn't want that.

After freshening up, she never left her room. Even when the maid called her for dinner, she refused to go out for dinner, so her mother sent her food upstairs. Mia refused to eat, she was still angry at her father who was acting like nothing happened, and like he didn't just put the whole wolf pack in danger of an unknown demon which no one have a solution on how to end the demon.
