Chapter 60: Chapter 60

Looking back into the room, she knew that Alex needed rest after the long and stressful day he had. She decided to take it upon herself to ensure that he wasn't disturbed.

"Please, do not disturb Alex's rest," she said in a firm voice. "He needs to rest after everything he has been through today."

The pack warrior's leader nodded understandingly. "Of course, ma'am. I'll make sure that no one disturbs him."

Mia smiled gratefully. "What's your name?"

"Caine."

Mia nodded and turned.

Wanting to walk back to the kitchen with the tray of leftover food, Mia turned her head towards the leader of the pack warriors.

"Is it ok for me to see the spy?" She inquired.

"I don't think that'll be a very good idea. We still don't know what she's up to or what she's capable of. I wouldn't want anything to go wrong down there or you getting hurt."  Alpha Alex will have my head for it," the pack warrior leader explained to Mia.

"I'll be saved," Mia replied, smiling.

"That's why I'm going with you, I'll be careful not to cause any more trouble, okay? If there's a rule to go by, I'll be willing to follow."

"Who am I to give my Luna rules?"  He prostrated. "I'll take the lead,"

"Oh, wait, let me keep this in the kitchen. I'll be back shortly," Mia said before rushing to drop the tray of leftovers in the kitchen.

Mia returned, and Caine led the way to the dungeon.

She knew that Caine was determined to get everything out of the spy, so she followed him to try her possible best to see if she could get even a word out of the woman.

She wouldn't sit down and watch everyone work towards rescuing the previous Luna while she did nothing important to help out.

Everyone knew that the spy they had captured was hiding something. But she wasn't going to say anything like she was protecting someone.

Mia was determined that she needed to talk to the spy herself and see if she could get any information out of her.

Caine led her to the cell where the spy was being held. The spy was sitting in the corner, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Can I speak to her alone?" Mia asked.

He hesitated for a moment before nodding and stepping outside the cell.

Mia walked over to the spy and sat down next to her.

"I know that you were not just walking past the alpha and his warriors," Mia started softly.

"Please, tell me what you know."

The spy looked at Mia with a cold, calculating gaze. "I don't know anything," she said flatly.

Mia could tell that the spy was lying. She tried a different approach. "Okay, then did you see anyone holding a woman captive while you were behind the bushes?" She asked.

"Do you know where he took her to?"

"I said I do not know anything, what more do you want from me?" The woman glared at Mia.

Mia sighed in frustration as the spy continued to insist that she was just passing through the area and knew nothing of the kidnappings.

"Look, we know that you're lying," Mia said firmly, leaning in closer to the cell.

"And we're not going to stop until we find out the truth."

The spy merely rolled her eyes and turned away, clearly not interested in cooperating with Mia.

Mia shook her head in disbelief and turned to leave, only to be stopped by Caine.

"Is there any progress, Luna?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

Mia shook her head. "No, she's not saying anything useful. But we can't give up. We need to find out who is responsible for the kidnappings."

Caine nodded in agreement. "I know, and we will keep trying. But for now, I suggest that you get some rest. You look exhausted."

Mia nodded, grateful for the concern. "Thank you," she said softly before making her way back to her room.

As she plopped down on her bed, Mia couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more going on than they realized. She knew that they had to keep pushing until they found out the truth, no matter how elusive it seemed.

Standing up from her bed, she made her way back to the dungeons alone this time without anyone knowing.

Getting to the cell where the spy was placed, she leaned forward against the barricade to be closer to the spy.

"Who are you, and why are you here again?" Mia questioned.

"I told you I know nothing and I saw nothing too, why can't you leave me alone?" The spy asked, looking up at Mia with a mixture of fear and defiance in her eyes.

"Look, I'm not here to hurt you," Mia said, taking a step closer.

"But my pack needs to know who you are and why you were there. We need to know the whereabouts of our previous Luna."

The spy hesitated for a moment before answering, "I know nothing, I was just passing through. I didn't mean to cause any harm. I have said it before," she said finally.

Mia knew that the spy was trying to hide something. She decided to push a little harder. "Then why are you having the same tattoo as the kidnappers?"

The spy looked at her for a moment.

Mia could see the pain in the spy's eyes. She knew that the spy had been through something terrible, and that was why she had to work for the Diamond Shadow Pack.

The spy looked at Mia for a long moment before finally saying.

"I'm here to help you," Mia said gently. "But you need to tell us everything you know."

Mia nodded. "We'll make sure that you're safe," she promised.

The spy looked at her for a long moment before speaking out. "Okay," she said quietly.

"I'll tell you just one thing. You're looking for the wrong thing. The enemy is within."
