Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Mia Heartman
Mia had been worried since Alex left the pack house after promising to explain everything to her.
She still wasn't satisfied. She was worried about Alex and his wellbeing, not knowing that Alex and the warriors were already back in the pack house.
She was reading in her room when she heard a loud commotion coming from Heartman's room.
She quickly got up and opened her door to see Alex storming out of Heartman's room, and his face contorted with anger. She rushed towards him, her heart pounding in her chest.
Mia knew that something had happened, and she needed to talk to Alex to find out what was going on. She followed him to his room and knocked on the door. When he didn't answer, she opened the door and lrt herself in. She found Alex pacing back and forth, his fists clenched tightly. He was breathing heavily, and his eyes were dark with anger.
"Alex, what's going on?" Mia asked, her voice gentle.
Alex stopped pacing and turned to face her, his eyes dark with anger.
Alex moved towards the bed beside Mia and sat down. Sitting on his bed, he buried his face in his hands.
Mia sat down next to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Tell me what happened," she said.
Alex looked up at her, his eyes filled with anger and frustration.
"Mia, how are you doing?" Alex inquired.
"I'm great, Alex. You're the one that's not looking good. Do you mind telling me what happened?" Mia started, "Why were you arguing with your dad?"
Looking frustrated, Alex didn't want to drag Mia into any of this, but he had no other choice than to tell her about it. She was the only one willing to listen to his plight.
He explained everything he had seen when he went out with the warriors on a rescue mission.
"We didn't come back with my mother, Mia." Alex started, "I wasn't fast enough and was carried away fighting that I forgot to rescue her before one of the kidnappers could disappear with her."
Looking at his sour expression, Mia held out her hand to him, giving him the comfort and support to continue.
"We got to their hideout, but they already left. The warriors and I had to track them deep into the forest, but I smelt my mom's blood and was worried something must have happened to her. I ran real fast, too fast for the warriors to keep up," he continued, "Getting to a clearing, I saw the four men holding her captive. Three of the men came out, but one of them stayed back and held her down. She was injured and bleeding."
"The three other men prevented me from going close to her they got into battle with me. When I was done with them, I couldn't find the last person and my mum."
Mia kept quiet but looked at him, showing her support and that she felt everything he was explaining. She urged him to continue, and Mia gave his hand a little squeeze.
Mia listened to him patiently, letting him vent out his frustrations. She knew how important this was to him, and she wanted to help him in any way she could.
" Just then, the warriors got to me," Alex continued
" Nothing else to do, I tried to mindlink her, but it wasn't going through, like someone blocked us out,"
" Everyone of us started looking for any clue that can lead to their whereabout, we found a customized blade and the pack tattoo on their body was same thing on the blade and it belongs to the Diamond Shadow pack, just then the leader of the pack warriors heard something behind the bushes and it turns out to be a spy having same tattoo with the kidnappers"
" We brought her back home captive she's in the dungeon being interrogated by pack warriors leader"
Mia could see the anger and frustration in Alex's eyes, and she knew she needed to help him calm down. She placed her hand on his shoulder, gently guiding him to sit on the bed properly.
Looking at him, Mia's heart was heavy, understanding the weight of the situation. "That's a lot to handle," she said softly. "But we'll get through it together."
Mia said, "Alex, you need to calm down."
"Let's take some deep breaths together," she said, placing a hand on his back.
They took several deep breaths, Mia's steady voice guiding Alex's breathing. Slowly but surely, his breathing evened out, and his body relaxed.
"Thank you, Mia," he whispered
"It's time for you to have a bath Alex, you stinks" Mia said, laughing at him
" After that, you can thank me."
Mia made him a cold bath. Alex went into the bathroom to shower, and Mia went ahead to lay down some free clothes for him to change into.
Not long Alex was out of the bathroom, but Mia wasn't in the room but he saw the clothes she laid down on the bed and changed into it just then Mia came in with a tray of food, Alex wasn't that hungry but he didn't want Mia's efforts to be wasted, he allowed her bring in the tray.
"The maids were done making it, so I brought some for you. You can take a little bit from it, okay?"
Alex accepted the tray and ate little out of it, and before he was done eating, he was exhausted and his eyes were already closing.
"Thank you Mia", Alex said, leaning back on the bed already drifting to sleep.
Mia stayed by his side, watching him sleep peacefully, knowing that he would need all his strength after the ordeal he had just been through and for the challenges that lay ahead.
Mia smiled gently and used the opportunity to place a kiss on his forehead. She had always wanted to do it.
"I'll always be here for you, Alex. We'll get through this together." She whispered.
Standing up, she took the tray of leftover food with her.
As Mia left Alex's room, she saw the leader of the warriors approaching the room.
"What's going on?" Mia asked.
His face was grim. "The spy won't say anything," he reported. "We've tried everything, but she's not budging. We don't know what to do."
Mia's heart sank. She sighed heavily. She knew this was not the news they were hoping for. They needed the spy to reveal any information that could help them save their former Luna and at least give trace on how to put an end to the feud between their pack and the Diamond Shadow Pack.
But now it seemed like their hopes had been dashed.
"We'll have to keep trying," Mia said, determined. "We can't give up now."
He nodded, his face filled with determination. "We won't stop until we find out everything we need to know," he promised.
Mia knew that they had a long road ahead, but she also knew that they had the strength and determination to see it through.
