Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Adam Heartman(Alex's dad)
The day was bright and beautiful just like Heartman's wife.
Mrs. Heartman smiled brightly at her husband while pointing at a pink shop excitedly.
Heartman blessed the day he decided to go on this tour. They clearly needed it, but Lisa needed it the most.
They walked hand in hand towards the small pink flower shop she had just pointed out.
Once they got close enough, they realized it wasn't as small as they had thought it was. Instead, it was really beautiful. It was decorated perfectly with red and pink roses which smelled wonderful. Lisa bent to sniff them and smiled brightly at Adam.
"Aren't they beautiful?" She asked as her emerald eyes brightened in admiration.
She was truly beautiful with white flawless skin. Her orbs held a glimmer of delight in them and they looked like jewels because of the sun shining on her face and her delicate fingers. She reminded Adam of the paintings of ferries, Adam had seen his books when he was younger.
"They are, my love," Adam replied, grinning fondly at her. She grinned back and walked into the mini shop and Adam followed closely behind her.
Lisa walked gingerly to the counter where a young lady sat painting her nails.
"Hello," Lisa said, making their presence known to the lady, who had her head bent in concentration.
The lady jerked, snapping her head up with a startled look.
"Oh. Hi, there! What can I get you?" She smiled brightly at them, rapidly blinking her blue eyes in excitement to serve her first customers for the day.
"I would love some red roses. I love what you did with them in your veranda," Lisa said still smiling.
Lisa felt her heart flutter with excitement, she had been feeling relived since the tour started. It was good to finally breath again; away from all the palace drama. She no longer had to bear the title of a Luna and all the stress that came with it. She was never liked by the lot of them anyways.
"Thanks, ma'am." The young lady bared her gum even more and Lisa feared if she did any more than that, her cheeks would tear apart.
The young lady scurried off to get the flowers, while Adam and Lisa looked around the shop and although it was small, it was impressive and beautiful.
They were in the human world, so they had to tread carefully. Humans didn't know of their existence and they'd love it to remain that way.
Lisa took her time to examine the young lady as she arranged the flowers colourfully into a small nylon bag. She was pretty and smart, Lisa could tell with the way she went about her job gingerly.
"Sorry to sound inquisitive, but I'm a bit curious just to know if you are the owner of the shop?" Lisa asked in a friendly tone.
"No need to apologize, ma'am. Yes, I am," the young lady said shyly and Lisa was impressed. She would have been perfect for her Alex if she was a werewolf.
"That's really impressive," Lisa complimented as she took the bag from her outstretched hands.
"Thanks, ma'am and thanks for shopping with us. Do stop by again." The young lady maneuvered her way back to her desk.
"We will, dear," Lisa replied lightly before leaving alongside her husband.
When they had left the shop, she turned to Adam who was brushing off some powder that had poured on his trousers as he went through the shop.
"She would been really good for Alex." Lisa couldn't help the sad sigh that accompanied her words.
"Liz-"
"I know, I know," She said to her already alerted husband.
He didn't like it when she began to think of Alex so much. It always made them sad. He had pushed them away at such a young age and they didn't know how to get him back. It hurt Adam, but not as much as he did his wife and he worried for her mental health.
They walked down the street in silence for a while, both deep in their thoughts.
"Adam look!" Lisa beamed, pointing at another shop.
Adam was grateful for the distraction until he saw what the she was pointing at.
"A seer?" He asked skeptically.
The humans had nothing to do with seers, only fortune tellers. The only personss he knew did apart from werewolves were vampires and they clearly couldn't walk in daylight.
"Yes. What if it's one of us?" Lisa pointed out, excited to check it out, but Adam wasn't.
"Can we just return to our hotel room?" Adam was already having a bad feeling about this. If it was one of them, they were sure to be recognized and if it waan't, humans saw nothing apart from the physical so it was most likely going to be a waste of their time.
"No, we can not," she said sternly before taking off towards the shop.
Adam followed with a sigh.
She was just as stubborn as their son.
The shop was weirdly decorated with withered leaves and weird looking branches. It had a sign infront which read, "SEER" with a half moon symbol on the side.
It sent chills down Adam's spine.
They walked into the shop or shrine. Adam gulped, housing a bad feeling about it in the depth of his stomach.
"Alpha," The old woman sitting on a very mini and uncomfortable chair declared with a string of shock in her voice as she jumped to her feet and bowed her head in reverence.
Adam almost sighed in frustration but he swallowed it down.
He knew it.
She was a werewolf and any werewolf who came across an alpha always knew one.
"You're a werewolf,"
Lisa stated, cocking up her eyebrows and sounding intrigued
"Yes, I am." The old woman smiled at her with some missing teeth.
"How do you survive amongst such weak creatures?" Lisa was indeed surprised. She wasn't a great fan of the humans as they were slow and inexperienced. They were proud and believed themselves to be the greatest of all the creations on Earth.
"I try," the old woman chuckled lightly. Adam stared pointedly at her not in the least way impressed.
"What can I do for you my lords?" She asked humbly, glancing from Adam to his wife. She was bent over with age.
"We'd like you to check on the Crystal Moon Pack for us," Lisa announced to Adam's dismay.
"Okay." The old woman got to work.
She made them sit.
The old woman outstretched her wrinkled hands and took Lisa's smooth ones in hers.
