It has been five months since Jessica had been working in the new company. She was known for how good she was and how easily she made things that looked difficult to solve settled in a twinkle of an eye and everyone in her department gave her a lot of respect.

Most female employers made Jessica their role model. Despite her being pregnant, she was able to carry out difficult tasks without complaining.

Jessica was sitting in her office, waiting for her friend, Angie, to finish her work for the day.

Angie worked in the marketing department and she had to go to work daily but Jessica on the other hand, worked in the IT section of the company and she only had to go to work once a week for a meeting and that was every Friday.

Jessica picked up her phone and started going through social media, reading news, and articles online. She saw a scandal Edwin Turner was involved in and she was not surprised because she believed Edwin was nothing but a player who played with women's feelings and disposed of them after they fell for him.

Jessica decided to create an account on social media using fake identification. While setting up the account, she received a message from Angie, telling her she would be at the car park in the next five minutes. Jessica quickly set it up and started packing her bag and she headed to the car pack.

Angie was already there waiting for her beside her car.

Immediately she sighted Jessica, she couldn't help but smile at the way she was walking, Jessica knew why she was laughing at her.

She had been making a joke of her in the past two weeks telling her how her body has been changing.

“ You know that is not fair,” Jessica said, smiling at her friend.

“ What is not fair my dear friend, you look hot and sexy you know. And I think we need to do some shopping for you.” Angie said, walking toward Jessica as she adjusted her top because her tummy was showing.

“ Yes I know, I have four months left to give you your baby, I can't wait to get back in shape,” Jessica replied smiling.

Angie opened the car door for her and she walked in, sitting comfortably, sighing.

“ Thanks, babe,” Jessica said to her friend.

“ And why are you thanking me? I told you to stop doing that,” Angie said with narrowed eyes and continued.

“ I booked an appointment for you at the city hospital for tomorrow by noon. I know you won't do it, that's why I booked it on your behalf.” Angie explained as she started driving toward Jessica's apartment.

“ Hmm, maybe I am scared. I don't know why I'm avoiding the hospital, though I hate going there. Are you going with me?” Jessica asked, making a puppy face.

“ Don't give me that face girl, you know I won't let you go alone,” Angie replied and she concentrated on driving.

“ Now I am eager to go,” Jessica replied with a smile.

" Yes, and we are going shopping after leaving the hospital," Angie said happily.

" What if we order online? I have a lot of work this weekend, we can go some other time." Jessica explained.

" Alright, it can wait but we are doing the shopping together.

After twenty minutes of driving, they arrived at the apartment, and the two friends walked into the elevator.

Immediately they entered, Jessica walked to the kitchen looking for leftover food and she couldn't find anything.

“ Babe, can we order Chinese food, am so fucking hungry,” Jessica said, rubbing her tummy.

“ I thought you ate at the office not long, babe!” Angie exclaimed with wide eyes.

“ Am not the one hungry, it is your baby girl. Do you want her to go hungry?” Jessica said laughing.

“Hmm, I will order if you promise to give me two babies,” Angie said, staring at her friend, waiting for her reply.

She knew Jessica didn't like to hear that but Angie wished she could have two babies, so they could carry them equally.

“Order first, maybe I can grant your wish this time if you feed me well,” Jessica replied, winking at her friend.

Angie ordered a Chinese meal, and after a few minutes, they received their order in their apartment.

After eating, Angie was busy working on the laptop while Jessica was busy checking out the fake social media account she created. She checked Edwin's verified account and she saw his numerous pictures with different women.

Jessica couldn't help but cry that night and she wished maybe they could be together again. She checked her email and she decided to check through the messages Edwin sent to her, reading all over it again.

Jessica was in her pool of thought when her phone rang, she picked it up to see the caller, and it displayed her mother’s name.

“ Hello mum,” Jessica said over the phone.

“ How are you my girl, how is my grandchild doing? Hope you are eating regularly. “ Her mum asked in a worried tone.

“ Am fine mum, I told you not to worry. How is dad doing? And how are my siblings too? Hope they are not disturbing?” Jessica asked.

“ Everyone is fine, in fact, your dad just secured a contract with a big pharmaceutical company recently.” Mrs. Graves said with a smile.

“ Wow, that’s good news mum,” Jessica replied.

“ Yes, it is. I am happy he took the bold step again. Have you registered for antenatal yet?” Mrs. Graves asked worriedly. She knew Jessica did not like visiting the hospital.

“ Yes, Angie registered for me today. I have an appointment tomorrow with a gynecologist, Jessica replied.

“ Okay then. That was good news. Make sure to eat and do not stress yourself too much.” Mrs. Graves said over the phone.

“ I will eat mum very well and take care of your unborn grandchild, I have to go to bed," Jessica said, yawning.

“ Alright, my regards to Angie.” Mrs. Graves said.

“ Goodnight mum. Greet dad, Kristen, and Tristen for me.” Jessica said, and she hung up the call.

She walked to the bathroom and had a cold shower. She said goodnight to her friend and she retired for the night.
