Chapter 68: Chapter 68
Angie ordered their food and the two friends took Jessica's boxes to the room.
Jessica called her parents to let them know she had landed and her mum also talked to Angie, thanking her for looking out for Jessica.
Jessica and Angie started talking about what had happened to her, starting from Misha and James, how they had pretended to befriend her just for them to hurt her.
Jessica told Angie about her suspicions that Edwin might be connected to the whole plot but Angie told her not to look at it that way.
Their food arrived and Angie set the table for them. Jessica ate a lot of the food which Angie understood was due to her present situation because she knew Jessica always watched what she eats but she didn't want to raise it because she didn't want her to feel bad.
After eating, they went back to the room and started arranging her clothes in the wardrobe. Angie saw a gown and she loved it, it was the same gown Edwin bought for her.
Jessica told her it was a gift from Edwin and she blamed herself for holding onto any gift from Edwin
She picked up the gown and was about to throw it inside the bin but Angie stopped her immediately.
" Let me keep it for you, don't throw it away, okay?" Angie suggested, collecting the clothes from Jessica and Jessica handed them over to him.
" So Jessy, are you not planning to tell him at all about the baby?" Angie asked, looking at her friend.
" I'm not. I am sure he won't like the idea. Am sure he will tell me to get an abortion without giving it a second thought." Jessica said, folding the clothes.
" What if he didn't? Did he call or message you at all?" Angie asked, leaning forward.
" Have blocked him. He emails me though," Jessica replied, resting her head in her palm.
" Really? What did he send? Angie asked, darting her eyes.
" He said I should apologize and that he was ready to forgive me," Jessica replied.
" Apologize for what exactly?" Angie asked with a raised brow and Jessica gave Angie an I don't understand face.
" Are you sure there was no misunderstanding between the two of you?" Angie asked, with a furrowed brow.
" What misunderstanding? He was the one at fault here, he never liked me. He only wants to sleep with me because of some bet." Jessica said, holding her tears.
" It's okay Jessy, I am sure you will be fine. I'm ready to support any decision you take." Angie said, hugging Jessica tightly and Jessica sobbed even more.
" Angie, I loved him. I gave him my virginity. I gave him my whole and what did I get in return? Betrayal. He betrayed me. He made me feel used and cheap. A bet? I will make sure he regrets doing that to me."
" It's okay babe, just calm down. Don't stress yourself." Angie said.
They folded the clothes in the wardrobe and the two friends talked about the company.
" Am happy you will be working mostly from home so that you won't be stressed by my babies." Angie chuckled.
" What do you mean babies Angie? Do you hate me that much?" Jessica said, darting her eyes.
" Of course, I love you so much. Don't worry I will be here with you." Angie replied.
"Have you witnessed twin troubles before?" Jessica asked.
She remembered when her mum gave birth to her siblings, Kristen and Tristen. How her dad hired up to five maids to support the two maids, but still her mum would always complain about being tired.
" I don't wish for that Angie, I don't!" Jessica affirmed.
The two friends continued their conversation but they were interrupted when Jessica's phone rang, she picked it up to see Gary calling her.
She quickly picked up the call and the two friends talked at length joking and asking about Jessica's new apartment. Jessica told Gary she was feeling sleepy and she hung up the call.
" Who was that?" Angie asked, winking at Jessica.
" A friend."
Jessica explained how she met Gary and how Gary was Edwin's biggest competitor and how Edwin hates Gary so much.
" So, you are friends with your boyfriend's enemy," Angie said jokingly.
" Edwin is not my boyfriend anymore so I can befriend him. He doesn't have a say in my life anymore." Jessica said.
" Hmmm, and I think Gary likes you, see the way he was talking to you, babes."
" I don't think so, he knew I was carrying Edwin's baby."
" What if he didn't mind at all? Will you date him?" Angie asked.
" I never see Gary like that. I only see him as a friend, nothing more."
The two friends continued to talk and talk until they slept off.
The following day, Angie and Jessica went to the company.
Jessica was welcomed by the CEO himself, he showed Jessica her office and what they wished to achieve in the next five years, hoping Jessica would help them achieve them with her outstanding skills.
They gave her a spotty car as a welcome gift.
After spending four hours in the office, the two friends left for the supermarket to do some shopping for Jessica's apartment. After they left the supermarket, they drove to Angie's apartment to pack some of her clothes and they went to Jessica's Apartment after.
They got home and arranged the kitchen and Angie prepared the food while Jessica worked on the laptop.
After an hour, Angie called Jessica to the dinner table so the two ate their food and retired for the day.
