After ten minutes the doctor arrived at the mansion. Immediately Edwin heard the doorbell, he went downstairs and quickly opened the door, allowing the doctor to come inside.

"You hardly make such calls at night. Are you okay?" The doctor asked, looking at Edwin. He looked fine and there seemed to be nothing wrong with him.

"I didn't call you to attend to me. Just follow me upstairs," Edwin simply answered.

The two walked towards the guest room as Edwin directed him to where Jessica was lying on the bed. She looked so pale and weak.

" What happened to her?" The doctor asked, walking toward her. The woman looked unconscious with flushed cheeks like someone under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

" A pervert drugged her because he wanted to take advantage of her," Edwin said in an annoying voice, with narrow eyes.

" Let me check on her," the doctor said, bringing out his stethoscope while examining her.

Edwin was looking at her as he paced up and down, biting his lower lip. He swore to deal with that bastard who tried to lay his hands on Jessica.

He knew that man had perverted thoughts towards Jessica but he never knew he would stoop towards getting her drugged and even trying to rape her too. If he hadn't been there, he wouldn't have only raped her but also put her on camera.

Edwin never knew such a cruel man was working under his company.

After ten minutes, the doctor stood up looking at Edwin, who was anxious to hear the result from him.

" She's okay. Her breathing is steady but I need to take her blood sample to run some tests so has to know the substances used on her," The doctor explained in a calm voice, maintaining eye contact with Edwin.

"Have you taken the sample?" Edwin said, with his arm crossed over his body.

" No sir, but I will do that right now," The doctor answered as he walked toward his bag to get the sample bottle with a syringe.

Edwin moved toward Jessica holding her hand, massaging them slowly. He looked so worried yet very angry. He felt like beating the hell out of James that instant he saw what he wanted to do to Jessica.

As the doctor was bringing out the things needed, his gaze landed on Edwin. The doctor was surprised to see him being worried over a lady. He knew of his behavior when it comes to women. But seeing him being worried about Jessica made him have another mindset about Edwin

The doctor collected the blood sample from Jessica's body and he left the mansion with a smile on his face.

Edwin remembers seeing Jessica's car at Edwin's residence. Resting his chin on his hand, he thought of what he could do. He stood up to get Jessica's bag and he opened the bag to look for her car key.

After seeing it, he picked up his phone to call one of his assistants who ran an errand for him to come over so he could pick up Jessica's car from James' apartment.

After fifteen minutes, Johnson came over to get the car key and he left. Edwin thought of how not to make Jessica's parents worried about her, thinking they still lived together.

He picked up Jessica's phone, luckily for him, it wasn't locked with a password.

Pinching his nose, he was stuck on whether to go check her phone or not, because he didn't want her to see him as a pervert.

Edwin dropped the phone on the bed and he walked to his room to get his laptop so he could be with Jessica till she woke up.

He entered the room and sat beside her on the bed while working on the laptop. A few minutes later, he saw a WhatsApp message notification from her phone and picked it up.

Seeing the message was from a contact saved with 'baby sis', he decided to open it. It was a video showing the family enjoying themselves in a park, with a short message.

" Jessy, this place is lovely and I wish you were here with us. Dad is so happy here and mum does more shopping like before."

After reading the message, Edwin found himself smiling.

" Does that mean her family has relocated while she's the only one here?" He thought to himself, still holding her phone.

A few minutes later, another message came in from someone called 'Angie'. Edwin saw the flash message.

"Did he know about your feelings yet?'

Edwin started wondering what she meant by those words. Who was she in love with? Does she have a crush on someone? He was so curious to open the message but he decided not to.

Edwin started going through the document Jessica sent to him that day. He was reading it and cross-checking if there was any error before he sent it to the company he wanted to apply for their project in Los Angeles.

He noticed another flash of message on Jessica's phone and he picked it up again, from Angie.

"It won't be nice if you asked your boss out yourself, it will be awkward…"

Edwin was eager to open the message again, after reading the flash.

" So you felt the same thing for me and you are always around other guys?" Edwin chuckled with wide eyes, as he looked at the sleeping beauty beside him.

" After calling me a pervert?" Edwin said to himself.

" Should I ask you out or make you feel more punishment for calling me a pervert, Jessica? " Edwin said to himself, laughing.

" Things are getting easier than I thought," he said to himself.

After a few minutes of ranting to himself, Edwin was done with the document revision and he submitted a copy. Johnson called him to let him know he was at the door, so he could return the car key.

He went downstairs to get the key and said goodbye to Johnson. After a few minutes, he received a call from the police station saying James confessed that he wasn't the only one that planned the situation, that he named a girl called Misha.

Edwin was taken aback, this is the same girl that she was always with Jessica at work, they eat lunch together daily. He even remembered Misha checking on Jessica when she missed lunch and brought her takeout instead.

He remembered Misha as wanting to be his secretary over four times but he noticed she was doing good in the marketing department, so never considered her.

" How can people be so wicked?" Edwin thought to himself.

He picked up his phone to call the police to get Misha arrested.

Dropping his phone on the bed, Edwin heard his stomach growling. He remembered he hadn't eaten anything that day aside from drinking wine. He stood up and walked downstairs to prepare a simple dinner for himself.

After ten minutes, he was able to come up with something edible. He quickly finished his food and went back to the guest room where Jessica was and he saw his phone ringing, he picked it up after seeing it was from the police.

" What!" Edwin exclaimed over the phone.

The police just reported that Misha already vacated her apartment a few minutes ago and they were trying to trace her movement.

He just shook his head at the police words. He guesses Misha must be smarter than he thought. But he was going to get her even if he had to spend all he had.

" How much of a criminal is this girl? How can she escape so fast within that hour?" Edwin thought to himself as he lay down beside Jessica, looking at her face.

He slept off after five minutes.
