Chapter 112: Chapter 112
Hannah was panicked. She pranced about in her safe house. She couldn't lose. She just couldn't lose!
With vengeance in her eyes and a deep seated hatred in her heart, she ran out of the house.
She took a cab to an alley. She knew that most of the people who worked for her father in their illegal business lived there. Getting them to do dirty work for her was easy since they were her father's workers.
She stopped at the house of one. She knocked in a different style. Three - one-two. The door got unlocked but wasn't opened. She looked left and right to be certain she wasn't followed, and when she was certain of that, she entered.
"JP." She whispered. "It's Hannah."
The man turned on the lights. He was holding a bat which he wanted to use in case the person was actually an intruder.
"Miss Hannah. What are you doing here?!" He demanded.
"I need your help. It's very urgent."
"I'm sorry but your father gave orders that we must not be seen or heard. The government is watching us like a hawk, I can't give you any drugs."
Hannah shook her head. "That's not what I'm here for."
"Then what?"
"I need you to help me get two kids. It's very easy." Hannah said. Inching closer, she pulled him down to her level and whispered in his ears what she wanted him to do.
"I can't do that." JP disagreed.
"I'll pay whatever you want." Hannah bargained. JP thought about it for a while. If she could help him escape from the country, he would not be involved in whatever mess came out of her family's illegal business.
"I want a new identity. I want to leave the USA."
"I promise to get you out of this country if anything happens so you'd be totally free."
She gave him details about the children and how to go about it. Then she left him to carry out his deeds.
She returned to her safehouse. It wasn't in the city. As a matter of fact, it was hidden and quite distant from the city. Before anyone could find her, it would take a very long time, and she could have done whatever she wanted to do to them.
Gabby and Abby were sitting together in the passenger seat of their special cab. Levi was happy that the kids weren't throwing any tantrums again. Occasionally they would use it to joke around.
This time around, he noticed there was a vehicle following them. He tried to lose them without alerting the kids but it was almost impossible. When he eventually realized that he was being chased, he took a wrong turn and ended up in a dead end. He had to park the car there.
"Uncle Levi, this isn't the way home." Abby stated. "What's going on?"
"Calm down kids. Don't get out of the car no matter what. All I want is for you to put your heads down and stay still, okay?" Levi said calmly. "Don't scream. Don't peek."
Gabby became eager to find out what was happening. The orders were very strange. "What's going on outside? Where is this place?"
Levi smiled awkwardly. "I will explain later. For now, do as I say."
The kids bowed their heads regardless. They held each other's hand.
Levi got out to find JP leaning on his car parked directly behind theirs.
"Who are you?" Levi asked. The man didn't respond, he only kept puffing his cigarette in his face.
"What do you want?"
"The kids," JP replied. "Just give me the kids and I'll spare your life."
Levi scoffed. "You think that just by telling me to hand over kids in my care, I would do that? Then you can threaten to 'spare my life'?"
JP finished his cigarette and then threw it to the ground and stomped on it. "Do you want to end up like this cigarette? Under these heavy boots?"
Levi was a little scared. "I cannot give them to you." He said bravely. He turned to return to the car but was grabbed by JP.
JP growled in his face and began to throw punches at him. He was reckless in his beating.
By the time he was done with Levi, the man's face was stained with blood and he was unconscious.
"The name is JP." He growled, then spat on him. He bypassed him and went to the car. It was locked from the inside.
Gabby stared at the man's face, it was very disgusting.
"Abby, close your eyes okay?" He whispered. "Don't look."
Abby nodded and put her face to her brother's chest.
JP punched the car's window and got it shattered. Abby screamed even though she didn't see it. She was very frightened.
JP glared at the kids.
"If you scream, you will end up like your bodyguard." He threatened, showing them Levi's unconscious body. The kids kept their fear within them, only hoping that their mother or father would find them.
JP led them into his car and buckled them safely. Once he got in, he locked the door and activated the tinted glass. He didn't want anyone peeking into his car to find kids there.
Jessica was worried. She hadn't gone to work that day. Once it was closing time, she decided to go and pick up the kids but she was told that their driver had picked them up already.
She returned home in the hope to find their kids but she didn't. Her heart became jittery.
She calmed herself down. Perhaps they have gone to visit their father again. But she told Levi that if he ever took them to Edwin's company, he should at least let her know.
She dialed Levi's number. It rang and rang but he didn't pick up. She dialed it again and again but the calls were met with the same fate.
She dialed Edwin's number.
"Edwin?" She called fearfully. "Have you seen the kids?"
"Kids? No. Did they say they're coming over? Oh. Let me inform my secretary to bring them up once they arrive -"
"Edwin! My kids are missing!" Jessica cried. "I've been to the school and they said Levi had picked them up already. I returned home and I couldn't find them."
"Oh, have you tried calling Levi? You know those kids could really throw a tantrum whenever they need something."
"I've called him several times, but he isn't picking up! Edwin, my kids!" She cried.
