Chapter 113: Chapter 113

In no time, Jessica heard a knock on the door. She quickly ran to check. She found Edwin at the door. The man pulled her into a hug the moment he saw her.

Jessica began to cry. Her heart shattered even more. The thought that her kids might be in trouble was a huge problem.

"Edwin, my children! My babies! My babies are missing." She cried. "Find them! Find them!"

Edwin hugged her. "I'm sorry, let me inform my investigator."

Edwin dialed the private investigator immediately. He stepped out to speak to him.

"Mr. Turner. I'm quite surprised to hear from you now. I have done what you asked me to do." The man said.

"Not about that. Look, my kids are missing. I need you to help me find them." Edwin said.

"I'm a computer hacker and software investigator, anything that happens in the physical world is not my job. You need to inform the police or hire a private detective." The man said.

"Look, I need you to help me track the driver's number. I will report to the police, yes. But I want you to help me track the number." Edwin said.

"Alright, sir. Send the number."

Edwin ended the call and texted Levi's number to the man. Within a few minutes, he responded with the location. Edwin took Jessica to go and check the place.

She saw his car and his body lying unconscious on the ground. Her heart broke even more. Seeing Levi like that, she didn't know what her kids would be like.

Edwin called an ambulance to carry his body. They found out that he was still alive. They followed him to the hospital and settled all the bills.

Jessica was still in the hospital when Angela called her.

"So you went out with the kids and y'all didn't go with me, huh?" Angela accused.

"Angie." Jessica cried. "Angieee."

"What's up, babe? Why are you crying? What's going on?!"

"Angie, I can't find my kids! I can't find them!" Jessica cried. "They're missing."

Angela screamed. Jessica's parents became interested immediately. Angela placed the call on the speaker.

"Missing, how? What about the driver?"

"He's in the hospital. He was beaten to an unconscious state. Angie, my babies!" Jessica cried.

"Princess, what's wrong?" Mr. Graves asked aloud. He snatched the phone from Angela. "Talk to daddy, what's the matter?"

"Daddy, my babies. Please everyone help me.

find them. Everyone looks out for them please." Jessica begged.

Edwin had also called his family to inform them of the update. Everyone was up and searching for the children. Edwin called the police to inform them of the matter.

He spoke with a private detective who handled the matter as it was reported by someone as popular as Edwin.

Edwin saw how broken Jessica was, and his own heart began to break. Instead of taking her home from the hospital, he took her to his own house. Jessica was trying her best to be calm. But once they got into his apartment, she had a sense of Deja Vu wash over her. She remembered the last time she had come there. Her eyes began to water. If Edwin had behaved properly, she wouldn't have had to go through any of these.

Jessica broke down into deeper sorrow. Her heart was wrenching with every thought of what could be done to her children.

"Jessica.." Edwin called softly. He was at loss. The missing children affected him the more. How could he lose children he just found? But seeing Jessica in such a state made him realize how weak she was, and how strong she needed him to be.

"Don't talk to me! Don't say my name!"Jessica cried. "This is all your fault, Edwin!"

Edwin sighed. He crouched down before her. Jessica hid her face away from him.

"Find my children! Go and find my kids for me. You don't know what I've been through with those children, I can't… I just cannot lose them now." She cried

"Jessica… Baby.. everyone is searching for them. The police, my private investigator, my private detective, my family, your family, Angela… Roy.. everyone is searching for them." Edwin explained. "But more than that, Abby and Gabby are searching for you.. for us."

"They want their hero mummy to come and get them. I'm sure they might say you will find them before I do. Gabby already said I'm not man enough." Edwin snorted. Jessica smiled a little.

"Baby I don't want you to cry anymore, please. I will find them. Our kids, we will find them together."

Jessica stared at him through her teary eyes. Edwin pulled her up and took her to his room.

"Go and freshen up and change your clothes." He said softly. Jessica nodded.

Edwin just turned to leave when Jessica grabbed his hand. He turned back to look at her, and she hugged him tightly. She wanted to feel the comfort and solace she always found in him.

Edwin understood her at the moment. He held her firmly. Feeling her in his arms again, his own eyes began to get wet. He wished it was in a different scenario they were together. Not when their children were probably brought manhandled. A drop of his tears touched Jessica and she disengaged from the hug instantly. She held his face in her small palm and used her thumb to wipe his tears. Standing on her tip-toe, she planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"You have comforted me. You shouldn't lose your strength." She whispered. Edwin nodded. It was the time they needed each other the most.
