Chapter 37: Chapter 37
Kylo’s Point of view
I watched my Mom slice each of the vegetables with a smile on her face. She took a break from work for the first time. She thought I was dead, and she has regretted the days when she couldn’t give much attention to me. When dad died, she felt like she lost everything when I was always there, trying to comfort her.
I cleared my throat for her to look at me. It’s the right time to ask her the most crucial point of my life.
“Do you need something?” she asked.
“I have a question.”
She looked straight into my eyes and stopped what she’s doing.
“I just regained my memory recently,” I said.
“Really? That’s good news. Congrats!”
I sat up straight and pulled my sleeves up.
“I work under the International Intelligence Forces. I don’t know if you’re familiar with that, but I’ll cut the chase. Is Kylo’s father… her biological father?”
For a moment, her eyes didn’t blink, and her lips parted.
“No,” she said and avoided my gaze.
My heart was pounding rapidly like it’s about to explode. I saw it coming, but hearing it from her hits differently.
“I can’t recognize her biological father because it was a night when I didn’t expect to have her. It happened so fast, and it was beyond my control. But I never see it as a mistake. She’s the best thing that has ever happened to me. Whoever that man is, I’m glad he came that night.”
I blinked a few times to control my tears from falling. It was difficult to stay calm when I wanted to hug her.
“Whoever that man is… I think he also didn’t know Kylo was born. If he knew, he would want to see her and scold her for being weak,” I said while smiling.
She sighed.
“He would teach her some techniques to be tough physically and mentally. You couldn’t imagine the bond they had while protecting and cursing each other at the same time.”
I glanced at her and noticed the confusion on her face. I was unaware of how I smiled from ear to ear while reminiscing about our adventure.
“Oh… I mean, how cute would it be. But it’s not possible,” I said and fake a laugh.
On the last day of being inside Wagner’s body, I continued the mission he left behind. It was my fault why it didn’t end up well, so it’s rightful for me to finish what I started. He’s not aware of my plan, and I’m doing things my way. This time, as Kylo Wagner.
I wore Wagner’s signature look—brown leather jacket, white fitted undershirt which showcases his dashboard chest and firm muscles, denim pants, expensive perfume and watch, and a hairstyle that could get every woman’s attention. I went on my way to the headquarters riding his beloved Ducati.
The headquarters contain 1,430, 000 square feet of floor space with two seven-story office towers. It was the coolest thing I’ve seen in my entire life, and being inside it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I should not reveal most of the details of secrecy.
I walked towards the entrance of the building. They need an identification card to slide through the door to open it, and it’s the most important thing I lack. I walked back and forth and thought of how I could come up with an excuse to be in there.
“Listen, I’m Vad Wagner. I’m the top agent, so please let me in.”
I kept on practicing my lines before a security guard approached me. I bowed my head in panic and attempted to run away, but he caught the tip of my jacket, pulled my arms, and harshly pressed my body against the wall.
“Who are you? What’s your business here?” he whispered.
“I… I’m Vad Wagner.”
“Don’t you dare use the name of the legendary? You can’t fool me. He’s long been gone.”
“Can you just look at my face? I have uniquely gifted attributes no one can copy.”
I slowly turned my head and removed my sunglasses. He narrowed his eyes and looked at me closely. His hands loosened as his eyes widened in shock.
“I can’t believe you’ve forgotten my voice, officer. I’m quite disappointed.”
I smirked.
He immediately let go of my hand and took a step backward.
“V-Vad… W-Wagner. How is this possible?”
“I can make the impossible possible. Also, there’s some dirt on my face and clothes. I’ve been preparing for this day and you ruined it. What shall we do about that?”
I pierced my keen eyes at him, one that could put anyone in shame.
His hands trembled as he grabbed a handkerchief from his pocket and was about to wipe it on my face.
“Stop. Don’t you dare lay a finger on my face,” I said and snatched the handkerchief from his hand.
I wiped it on my face down to my clothes.
“Don’t you know that there are 1.5 trillion bacteria on your skin? And you tried to land it on mine? Keep your shit to yourself next time, will you? Open the door before you get fired.”
He pulled out a handheld transceiver in a hurry and called someone.
“Open the door! Vad Wagner is entering. I repeat, Vad Wagner is entering!”
I walked with elegance, not minding the people staring at me. The elevator opened, revealing a tall, skinny guy inside. He was busy staring at his tablet. I stood beside him and pressed the button to the 3rd floor.
“Vad Wagner is back? What a joke,” he uttered.
“Am I a joke to you?” I asked.
He glanced at me in shock and dropped what he was holding, but I caught it with my right hand. He took a few steps backward until he could no longer move. His mouth was wide open and his face was disoriented, as if he had seen a ghost.
“What’s wrong? Aren’t you supposed to laugh?” I said sarcastically.
He gulped. The door opened; we were already on the 3rd floor. I threw the tablet at him and smiled.
“See you around,” I said.
I walked towards room number 106 and knocked on the door before I entered. The swivel chair turned and faced me.
“How dare you disappear and show your face right now?” she said.
She’s a woman with blond, short hair. She has nice curves, and around 40 years old. But she looks like in her 30s. She’s the Director of IIF known as Mjnyx.
“I always come with a bang. Did you miss me?” I asked.
“Not at all.”
“Good to know. Now, let’s get back to business.”
