Chapter 55: Chapter 55

At last, Davion reached home and dragged his tired body towards the bedroom. It was 11:30 in the night and everyone would be fast asleep, thankfully. He would just crawl into bed and doze off. The next morning, he could wake up early and escape to his office to avoid Sofia. However, the moment he walked into the room and saw Sofia curled up in one corner of the bed, he forgot all his resolutions. He could see that she was wide awake. Every now and then her body trembled and as he went nearer, he realized that she had been weeping.

Davion's heart went out to her and he just walked up to the bed and stood in front of her.

"Sofia!" he said softly, almost in a whisper. Sofia looked up at him with wide eyes, unable to believe that he was actually here.

"Davion? When did you come?" she asked, wiping her tears as she sat up on the bed.

"Just now. Have you been crying?" he whispered hoarsely, sitting in front of her, his eyes taking in her tear-stricken face. Sofia nodded slowly.

"Yes, I think that you don't love me any longer, Davion. I think you don't need me anymore. Maybe, you don't want me here anymore," she said, her eyes filling up with tears.

"You've got it all wrong, Sofia," said Davion with a sigh.

"Then why are you avoiding me, Davion? Why are you running away from me?" she asked in earnest. Davion looked away, his eyes looked troubled. He frowned at his hands as if debating whether to tell her everything or not.

"I'm not running away from you. I'm just stressed, that's all. It's quite late and I have to go to work tomorrow early in the morning. Go to sleep, Sofia," said Davion, ending the topic and getting up. But Sofia wanted to get to the end of this problem. She was tired of this unspoken misunderstanding between them. She caught his hand to stop him from escaping again.

"No Davion. I'm not sleepy and I won't let you go to work tomorrow if you don't answer me," said Sofia stubbornly. Davion sat down with a sigh.

"I'm not good enough for you any longer, Sofia," he said, looking at her with a lost look on his face. Sofia frowned.

"Don't be silly. You know that I love you," she told him, catching hold of his hand and threading her fingers through his.

"But I can't satisfy you in bed. I'm broken," said Davion. Sofia shook her head.

"But you always have, Davion. You've taught me everything," said Sofia, looking at him with surprise.

"That was before. After the fall, after the surgeries, I've developed new complications, you don't know about," said Davion.

"What complications? You told me that Terence mentioned that you might face infertility issues," said Sofia.

Davion nodded.

"I had myself tested here in Reno as well as in Las Vegas. I have infertility issues as well as 30% erectile dysfunction," said Davion.

"It can be treated with time I'm sure. It's just 30 % and not 100%. You have to give your body the time it needs to heal, Davion. As for erectile dysfunction, I really can't believe it. Remember how we used to make love before going to Las Vegas? We were fine, Davion. What you're facing is more psychological, I think," said Sofia.

Davion gaped at her, a faint hope shining in his eyes.

"You really think so?" He asked her, tightening his hold on her.

"Yes, I'm fine with however you want to make love. All I want is you, Davion. As for infertility, we have Celestine, don't we? There are so many childless couples around. Just think about them. I think we can survive. Just be happy and you'll see that a year or two later, everything will fall in place," said Sofia. Davion smiled with relief.

"Yes, hope it does," he said, looking relieved. "I'll just freshen up and come back," he said, getting up. "Don't sleep," he added with a grin. Sofia waited for him patiently till he emerged from the en-suite and lay down beside her.

Sofia wrapped her arms around his torso. "I'm not letting you go anywhere tomorrow. You'll be only mine for the day," she said, embedding her face into his warm chest.

"Only day? What about the night?" he teased her, placing his finger on her chin and turning her face upwards.

"I meant both," she whispered shyly.

"Kiss me then. Give me a preview of what I'd get tomorrow," said Davion, his eyes twinkling with excitement. It had been so long since he had made love to her. Maybe she was right after all. Maybe it was a psychological barrier after all. His whole body throbbed with excitement at the feel of her soft body in his arms.

Sofia wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled his head towards her and claimed his mouth in a passionate tango. They devoured each other, hungry for a taste of the other. Sofia opened her mouth to his wild, probing tongue and he tasted every sweet recess inside her mouth, hungrily. It was a battle of the senses, a battle of two passionate mouths fused together, not getting enough of one another. The kiss turned more intense and Davion just lost control when Sofia started grinding herself against him. To his immense surprise, he grew rock hard and out of control.

He pulled his sweatpants and underwear down in one go and hovered over her in all his glory. "Sofia, I need to be inside you, now," he said in an urgency that made Sofia instantly get rid of her clothes and lay down, ready for him. Davion made love to her as if it was the first time for him. He pumped his entire length into her, grunting at the effort. Sofia moaned with pleasure and finally, they climaxed together. Davion lay sated on her chest, his forehead drenched in perspiration. A blissfully happy smile spread all over his face.

"Saw? You're perfectly fine," she said, stroking his hair. Davion whirled and pinned her to the bed, his mouth kissing her neck, marking her passionately. At last, he relaxed and stared at her with a calm and happy look on his face.

"Thank you, Sofia. I now know that whatever it is, it's nothing serious," he admitted. Sofia grinned.

"Silly, Davion. I love you still, you know," she told him.

"I love you more, babe," he winked, pulling her into his arms.
