Chapter 56: Chapter 56
Just as promised, Davion didn't go to work the next day. Sofia noticed a change in his attitude. He looked more confident, relaxed, and quite happy. He took her and Celestine to visit a zoo in Reno. Celestine squealed with delight watching the different animals and their antics. With around 40 species of animals to check out, Celestine was busy the whole morning. They also visited the petting zoo adjoining it. Sofia and Davion had to forcefully get her away from the animals as she was so excited that she didn't wish to go home.
"Let's go home, Ceecee,' said Davion but she shook her curls vigorously.
"Nooooo," she protested making everyone stop and stare at her. At seven months, Celestine looked like an angel dropped down from heaven. She had the same electric blue eyes as Davion and flawless skin from Sofia and always attracted attention everywhere she went. Davion treated them to ice creams and by lunchtime, they returned home since it was Celestine's nap time. Sofia gave her milk and tucked her to bed.
Finally, they were free to relax after a tremendously hectic morning. Greta served them a delicious lunch and afterwards, Sofia went to the bedroom to change. Davion lay down watching her when Sofia's phone buzzed with an incoming call from Victoria. They had sorted out their differences and Colton had proposed finally. Both sounded very happy. At last! With their wedding coming up in a week's time, there hardly was any time at hand to make preparations. It would be a simple wedding in their Long Beach villa and Sofia and Davion had to reach earlier than the other guests.
After disconnecting the call, Sofia was busy chatting to her mom who had called. Davion lay back waiting on the bed while an oblivious Sofia kept chatting with her mom.
"Who marries at such short notice, tell me, Sofi? Arranging for a wedding isn't so easy," protested her mom.
"Mom, you should be happy that Colton's giving you a week's time. Davion gave you just a day, remember?" she reminded her mom with a laugh.
"I know, right? He was so impossible. We had been so lost that day. But one thing I have to give him credit for. He didn't let me do any preparations. I would have been in a soup otherwise. He arranged everything himself. I'm so proud of him," said her mom. Davion smiled but tugged at Sofia's dress, pleading with her to stop discussing him and please him instead. But Sofia kept on and on and Davion groaned at the torture.
"So what are you wearing, mom? I have no clue what color dress to buy," asked Sofia.
"Wear a sack," mumbled Davion, feeling frustrated.
"I'm wearing a new sheath dress that I bought last month. Why don't you discuss with Vicky and buy yourself a dress in a day or two?" suggested her mom.
"Yes, I'll do that," said Sofia. Davion groaned and turned around with his back towards her. Covering his ears with a pillow, he decided to take a nap in the meantime.
"I think someone is groaning in the background. Is Davion hurt?" asked her mom. Sofia's eyes widened at the realization and she looked behind her. Seeing Davion a chuckle escaped her mouth.
"Maybe. I'll talk to you later, mom. Bye," she said, disconnecting the call. Davion kept the pillow down and turned to face her.
"At last! I thought I'd take a nap in the meantime," said Davion with a grin.
"Okay, I'm sorry, I forgot about my promise. I'm so excited to attend Vicky's wedding," she said, lying down beside him.
"Please me and I'll buy you anything you want for the wedding," said Davion, his eyes glittering with excitement.
"Anything?" prompted Sofia.
Davion grinned. "Yes," he whispered. In a flash, he lay her down on the bed and pinned her with his body. With his face inches from hers, Sofia forgot to breathe.
"Please me now," he whispered hoarsely. Sofia eased the tee-shirt out of his body, her fingers explored his muscular chest and abs. His breath hitched at her touch, and a tremor went down him.
"More, Sofia. I want you to initiate everything," he whispered, challenging her. Sofia gave him a wicked grin making his whole body come alive with excitement and anticipation. Her deft fingers unbuttoned his jeans and eased it off him in a rough yank. She pulled off his underwear as well, making Davion's body ablaze with an intense desire. It was like magic! Sofia's touch could invoke such a response inside him that he was hopeful that he could overcome his issues after all!
The next few minutes were heaven. The feel on her soft body against him, the feel of her hands touching him, all kindled a fire deep in the pit of his stomach. He was hard again! Unable to take it any longer, he lost all semblance of control and thrust deep inside her. Sofia's reaction to him, her love for him was enough to erase all doubts from his mind. He knew that he didn't want anything more from life apart from his little family.
Just as he had promised, he took Sofia on a shopping spree and bought her more than she had asked for.
They drove off to Long Beach to enjoy a grand family reunion. When they returned, Sofia encouraged him to go for an alternative therapy that didn't have any side effects and life settled down for the three of them.
As the days went by Celestine grew lovelier than ever and soon they started looking for a school for her.
"She'll go to an all-girls school," said Davion.
"No, I want her to go to a co-ed school," said Sofia. Davion fumed at the suggestion.
"I don't want her to mix with guys," said Davion with a scowl.
"In a society too we have to mix with both men and women. If she went to a co-ed school she would be more experienced to face men. Don't you think so?" asked Sofia. Davion scowled angrily and stopped in front of the best co-ed school in the vicinity, Coral Academy Elementary School.
So life went on for the three of them. Although it wasn't all rosy and fairytale-like for Davion and Sofia, they loved one another very much. Despite their ups and downs, despite their fights and make-ups, they were together for life.
