Chapter 53: Chapter 53

"Upstairs, in the nursery. Vicky's feeding Asher. Why don't you go and meet her?" said her mom. Sofia picked up Celestine and went upstairs to the nursery which used to be theirs when they were young.

Victoria had just burped baby Asher when they entered. "Hey! I was just coming downstairs to meet you," she said, giving Sofia a side hug with baby Asher in her arms. "Ooo, Celestine looks like a diva already. I'm sure she'll break hearts when she grows up. But her name is too long. Doesn't she have a nickname?" asked Victoria.

"Davion calls by different nicknames every day as you already know. But his latest craze is Ceecee and Celestine responds to that nickname, so I too call her that," said Sofia with a laugh.

"Ceecee is the cutest nickname of all Davion's nicknames. I think it suits her. I'll also call her Ceecee," said Victoria as they sat in the nursery with the two babies.

"Look, how Ceecee is staring at Asher. I want them to bond well, just like us," said Sofia, relieved that her twin was looking normal at last. The therapies had worked wonders for her and it seemed that she had recovered well from her trauma.

"Yeah, me too," said Victoria.

"So when is your wedding?" asked Sofia hesitantly. She actually wanted to know about Colton and her wedding instead of about her wedding to Trevor. Victoria looked down at her hands looking uncomfortable.

"The date isn't fixed yet," she informed her twin. Sofia felt relieved that things haven't been finalized yet. Could she give her twin the push she needed? Could she make her change her decision of marrying Trevor?

"Please don't marry him, Vicky. Colton loves you. He'll give up his life if you marry Trevor," said Sofia with a sad look on her face. "You know how I almost lost Davion? Colton thinks just like him," she told her with a scared look on her face. Victoria closed her eyes and sat still for a moment, words failing her.

"Oh, I'll talk to him the next time he comes,' said Victoria in a small voice.

"Did he come to see you?" asked Sofia at last. The curiosity was killing her and she couldn't stay back any longer.

"Yes, but he saw me with Trevor and left," said Victoria with a sigh, not going into the details.

"Left? Where?" asked Sofia as a feeling of dread spread all over her. She would have to ask Davion to look for him. Victoria shrugged. She didn't seem to have any clue about Colton's whereabouts.

The next whole week went by amidst fun and enjoyment. Their old friends and relatives visited them. The house was alive with a continuous flow of visitors the whole day. However, Davion looked worried as Colton hadn't turned up at the grand event that was held at one of their casinos.

Victoria was sitting in the living room and playing with Celestine while Asher slept in his stroller. Sofia and their mom were staring at their mom's laptop, selecting wedding dresses when Davion stormed into the room. He had just returned from the two-day event that had just ended. He sat down beside his wife and massaged his temples.

"What happened, Davion?" asked Sofia worriedly.

"Colton didn't come to the event even today. He was the one who had arranged it and he wasn't there. This has never happened before. His phone is switched off and I haven't seen him since the night he left our home in Reno in a rush. I'm very worried, Sofia," said Davion. Victoria's face paled at his words. Her heart constricted hearing about Colton. Sofia's words rang in her ears. Where was Colton? Was he alright? She just hoped that he didn't do anything untoward. They had to find him!

"We need to find him, Davion. What if he needs help?" she cried hysterically, unable to keep calm anymore. Her mom gaped at her reaction. "I'll talk to him if that brings him back. I'll tell him that I've forgiven him. Please do something, Davion. He'll kill himself," said Victoria as a sob escaped her mouth.

Sofia got up and sat down beside her to calm her. "It's alright Vicky. Don't panic. We'll find him soon," said Sofia.

"Yeah. I'm calling my manager to track down his bank transactions. We'll get an idea where he is," said Davion, getting up to make a phone call.

"I hope he hasn't done anything. I should have known. I'm responsible for all this," sobbed Victoria. Their mom gaped at her reaction trying to fathom what this is all about. From the looks of it, she was sure that her daughter was in love with Colton Glenn. Then why was she marrying Trevor?

"Can anyone please tell me what's going on?" she asked her daughters.

"I'll tell you everything later," said Sofia as she tried to calm down a broken Victoria.

"You aren't responsible at all, Vicky. You were hurt and defensive. It's quite a normal feeling. Colton's been this way since his mom's death. He had disappeared for a month and Davion couldn't connect to him. He returned after a month on his own. That's the reason we didn't see him at my wedding. Give him time. He'll come around," she coaxed. Victoria wiped her eyes and looked at her twin.

"I can't relax till I know that he's safe," said Victoria.

"Davion is looking for him. Give him some time, " said Sofia.

Davion tried to contact all his friends, but they had no idea of his whereabouts. He called his manager for an update on Colton's bank transactions but still nothing. Davion was too worried to think normally. He was scared that Colton might have taken the same extreme step that he had. Victoria broke down considerably, blaming herself again and again for what happened to Colton. Sofia was busy with both the babies as Vicky was inconsolable.

Amidst all this when a clueless Trevor came to announce their wedding plans, Victoria lost her cool and gave him a piece of mind. He didn't disturb her and left her in peace just as she had wanted. The next few days, they closely monitored Colton's bank account but he didn't make any transactions. Davion was at his wit's end. Finally, it was time for Sofia and Davion to return to Reno.

"Keep me updated, Sofi. The moment you come to know of Colton's whereabouts please inform me," she pleaded with her twin.

"Don't worry, you'll be the first one to know," promised Sofia. She hugged her parents and kissed baby Asher and her dad drove them to the heliport.
