Chapter 51: Chapter 51
However, two days later, Victoria gave birth to a baby boy and named him Asher. Their mom called to give Sofia the good news while they were sitting at the dining table for dinner.
"He looks just like Vicky, same eyes like hers," said her mom. Even Colton was with them.
"Congratulations, mom," said Sofia. Colton listened intently as she spoke.
"You promised to come home to see us, Sofi," reminded her mom.
"Turn on the speaker mode," said Davion, eager to be a part of the news. Sofia did as he asked her to do.
"Congratulations mom. We're coming down in a day or two," said Davion, making Sofia's eyes widen with shock. He was the one who had suggested not to tell them and now he himself couldn't keep it in. She glared at him and he grinned at her. Colton on the other hand sat dazed, not a word escaped from his mouth.
"Really? Today seems to be the best day for me and your dad. That's the third good news I heard today," said her mom making Sofia surprised. Even Davion looked curious.
"What's the second good news, mom?" Asked Sofia with rounded eyes. As far as she was aware there were only these two pieces of news that were good. Where did a third one come into the picture?
"Oh, hasn't Vicky told you? I swear this girl can be so impossible," Gushed her mom. Colton sat up straight while Sofia and Davion glanced at one another. Now, what was it that her mom was talking about? Sofia was dying with curiosity by now.
"No, mom. What's it? You're killing us, " groaned Sofia with curiosity, glancing at Davion and Colton who too waited eagerly.
"Trevor has proposed to Vicky today. He wants to marry her and be a dad to baby Asher! Isn't that the most exciting news of all?" Asked her mom excitedly. "I knew that Trevor had feelings for her, only she was blind to see it. He's such a kind-hearted man. He'll surely keep Vicky happy," said her mom excitedly. Sofia was shocked by the roots of her hair. She knew that Vicky loved Colton, then who was this Trevor? Glancing at Colton's pale face, Sofia's heart filled with dread.
"Who's Trevor?" Asked Sofia with horror glancing at a furious Colton standing beside her with mad fury in his eyes. Davion shook his head at him to request him not to react as Sofia's mom could hear him well.
"Hasn't Vicky told you yet? Trevor's the one who treated Vicky for so many months. He's her Therapist," said her mom. After hearing it, Colton trembled with fury. His teeth clenched and his hands fisted with anger. Sofia was too stunned to stop him. She could now feel that Colton did indeed love Victoria. They needed to sort their differences soon. Trevor wasn't right for Victoria, She didn't love him at all.
"F*ck him," swore Colton as he got up angrily and stormed out of the house as if a tornado was chasing him. Davion got up too and rushed after him, afraid that he would take some immature step in his fury. Sofia stared after them oblivious to her mom calling her name.
"Who was that, Sofi? What happened?" Asked her mom with confusion, having heard mostly everything that was going on. She thought she had heard Colton but refrained from saying so. At one point in time, she had wanted them to be together but ever since the pregnancy, Colton stopped coming over to their house as well.
"Nothing, mom. So has Vicky agreed to marry Trevor?" She asked curiously, praying that Victoria has turned down the offer already. She knew her twin too well. Victoria could never be happy with Trevor.
"She hasn't said no," said her mom in a smug tone, making a sense of dread fill Sofia's heart.
"But she hasn't said yes either," pointed out Sofia. She had no idea why her mom wanted Trevor and Victoria to get married!
"Oh, she'll marry him. I have a feeling that she would. He has helped her immensely, almost gave her a rebirth, you can say. If not out of love, she'll marry him for the sake of her baby. He needs a father figure in his life," said her mom.
"But shouldn't she think well before taking this leap, mom?" asked Sofia.
"After what Vicky has gone through, I doubt she will open up to any man ever. Trevor understands her, he knows everything about her. Your dad and I think that he's perfect for her," said her mom. Although Sofia had her doubts, she preferred not to say anything before speaking to Victoria. She didn't agree with her mom's arguments.
Colton stormed out and Davion caught up with him. "Colt, don't do anything untoward as I did. I beg of you, bro," pleaded Davion, feeling extremely worried. Colton scoffed and walked away towards his car.
"I'm not going to kill myself don't worry. If I kill, it will be someone else," he stated making Davion's eyes widen with horror.
"Stop, Colt. Don't take the law into your own hands. You'll rot in jail. Go talk to Vicky. I'm sure you can sort this out between the two of you," said Davion in a pleading tone.
"She doesn't want to talk to me, bro," said Colton, flailing his arms helplessly.
"Talk to her forcefully but don't give up like this," said Davion. Colton sighed and unlocked his car.
"I'll see what I can do about it. Don't worry. I won't do anything untoward. I'm on my way to Las Vegas tonight. I need to start packing. I'm not sure when I'll be back," said Colton. Davion sighed. He wished that he could accompany him.
"Be careful and call me if you need anything. We'll join you in a few days,' said Davion. Colton nodded and drove off in a frenzy, making Davion frown after him. He himself had gone through heartbreak and had dealt with it in the worst way possible. He didn't want Colton to do the same.
