Chapter 64: Chapter 64
It was a bright day and even though it was still morning, the whole of South Yarra had a bright glow from the sun.
But this particular underground basement was dimly lit as it always is.
The Lady of the Coasters and Richard stood side by side, their eyes fixed on a large screen displaying a video from the hidden cameras at the cabin.
Her lips curled into a sinister smirk as she watched Wesley's men scouring the area in search of Sarah.
"They're getting closer," Richard commented lowly and the Lady turned to give him a look.
"Getting closer to what?" She asked.
"Getting close to finding us out. Finding who you really are," he replied.
"Turns out they are quite smart," he added.
The Lady instead scoffed and shook her head.
"Let them come," she stated. The murder intent evident in her voice her gaze unyielding and unwavering.
"They would have something waiting for them," she chuckled eerily that even Richard shuddered slightly.
"It was never the plan to have someone like Wesley Maxwell after us though," Richard insisted with a soft sigh.
"And I never knew Sarah had any involvement with someone like him!" The Lady countered back, glaring sharply at him.
"His girlfriend? His concubine? Or just a friend. I don't know!"
"Anyways, I have no use for her. Seeing how actively they are ransacking everywhere for her, I can't use her to do what I wanted," she stated mysteriously before turning to look at Sarah chained to a heavy steel torture chair.
The lady suddenly turned back to the screen, then reached out to tap a few buttons on the console. It would connect to the camera outside the cabins just by the entrance.
Unfortunately, it seemed like there was no signal as it only made a distorted sound, showing some cracks and lines.
"I already suspected the explosion would destroy the cameras afterward, even the ones outside," Richard stated and exhaled.
Yesterday, he was against activating the explosion that occurred in the cabin, but the Lady had been so driven by her murder intent to just wipe them off.
Now they can't say if they killed the men or not, or if the men had set a trap for them afterward.
"Whichever way, we shouldn't go after these men but lay low for now. Your purpose for this revenge was solely against Daisy Louis and Mark Edward"
The People around her being used in this plan aren't even needed, but simply unlucky or bad to be in this whole scheme," Richard stated to her as if trying to remind her that her target is Daisy Louis and Edward, and not Wesley's men.
The Lady got pissed.
"You don't tell me what to do!" She glared sharply at him, sounding really pissed and irritated. Following that, she walked over to Sarah who did not even move a muscle even when she heard someone coming towards her.
She had her head lowered while she sat feebly, chained to the chair. It could be said that she has totally resigned to fate or surrendered to whatever happens, even if it's death.
Ever since she was brought here, she has always been beaten, tortured, wounded, and abused sexually by the Lady. Funny enough, she never let Richard have his way with her. In fact, she had warned him against it.
But the Lady would always sleep with Sarah and harass the latter sexually.
The Lady from the Coasters is bi, after all.
All these have only left way too many scars on Sarah; physically, emotionally, and mentally. And now, her scars are way too much Sarah had given up on life.
What more is there to live?
"You know, the plan was to make you the scapegoat of these all," Sarah suddenly heard her eerie voice sound over her head.
The Lady was right in front of her, causing Sarah to shiver slightly.
"I was going to like make it up at the end of my revenge plan against Daisy and then Edward, to seem like you are the villain, the Lady from the Coasters; the one behind it all along. But the way Wesley's men are actively after you, I doubt that's going to work anymore."
"Well well, I don't care what you are to him," she added.
Sarah remained mute as she listened.
It isn't Wesley's men. Andrew is the reason why Wesley is after her, but this Lady is way too cuny and dangerous. She would never let her know that.
She was an orphan when she met Andrew, but he has taken her in and taken care of her for years as if she were his baby sister.
And despite the age gap, Andrew fell in love with her afterward and she fell in love with him too. Sometimes, she does feel like she does not deserve his love.
Whichever way, Sarah does not want this evil Lady to find out about Andrew or go after him. She would die in peace and be rest assured that he is safe.
"I'm planning to throw you out of here," Sarah suddenly heard her say and she immediately looked up at her with wide eyes. Shock evidently plastered on her face.
"Honestly, I wanted you to be close to Daisy. I'd have full control over you and use you to control her. Daisy would have been so drawn to you, especially given how wounded you look. But since you're that important to Wesley, I'll just throw you out. There's no use of you anymore."
Sarah stared speechlessly at her.
Just two months ago, when this started, she had tried so much to understand this Lady and the revenge scheme she's always talking about, and even though she doesn't get it, Sarah sees everything as no sense.
'What is with her revenge plan and just harming people, killing and inflicting pain? What type of a psychopath is she?'
She just does not understand. Nothing made sense. Nothing did
Sarah so badly wanted to ask her so many questions. So so many questions at least before she dies, but will she even answer her?
But then, the Lady had just said she wants to throw her out.
"Why do you need someone else to be close to Daisy? I thought that's what Cindy Auston is for?" She asked with her head raised as she stared at the Lady.
The lady let out a mocking chuckle, then said, "Just one close friend for Daisy is not enough. Besides, Cindy is way too stupid for this. I'll scrap her later. The more betrayal, the more killing."
Hearing all those, Sarah did not know what to say. She felt flustered, torn, and exasperated.
It's more painful she has never seen the face behind those evil masks. How will a human be this evil?
"I already have someone to get close to Daisy though," the Lady suddenly stated with an air of pride.
"Ha no, she actually already succeeded in getting close to her. They just have to be really really close," the Lady said.
"You want to know who it is?"
Sarah stared at the Lady, but then her eyes widened slightly in fear and shock.
'Had this Lady not just said she is going to throw me out because of Wesley's men? Or was she mistaken when she said that? '
'How come she's telling her plans to me?'
"I thought you were planning to throw me out?" Sarah asked in a daze.
"Yeah, I said that," she replied casually. "That I said I will be throwing you out does not mean I will throw you out alive."
Sarah was stunned but then she let out a wry smile.
The Lady, with her hideous mask, drew nearer to Sarah, reached out, and grabbed her chin. Then she stared into her eyes.
"I can tell you whatever I want now 'cause you won't live to say it to anyone. What's more, it's high time I get rid of you and out of my walls," she ended her speech.
Sarah said nothing to all that. She accepted her fate a long time ago after all.
She had given up and just accepted that she is meant to be unlucky.
'When my parents died in that car crash years ago, I don't always want to think about it, I should have accepted the fact that I'm meant to be unlucky in life. But Andrew stepping into my life made me think I can be happy.'
'Just one night of mistake, one night of youthful exuberance of going to a club has brought me here to what is going to kill me in the end.'
"Richard has always wanted to have his way with you," the Lady suddenly said to Sarah.
Following that, she snapped her hand at Richard who was still by the screen checking out whatever.
"Richard, you can have her for the night. We'll get rid of her tomorrow," she said to him.
"What's more, I feel like watching some fun," she added then went somewhere across Sarah to sit, while Richard approached Sarah like a wolf aiming for its prey.
Sarah breathed out a deep sigh.
'Maybe it's tonight I'm going to die.'
