Chapter 63: Chapter 63

"Whaaaaaaaaat?!"

The atmosphere in the washroom had turned tense and suffocating.

Edward's heart pounded in his chest, and beads of sweat formed on his forehead. Cindy's face had turned ghastly pale, her eyes widening in fear and shock.

Edward tried to find the right words to explain the situation, but his voice faltered as he looked at the shocked expression on the face of the sudden intruder.

"It's not what you think," he managed to choke out. "I swear it's not what it seems."

Ellen stood there looking as shocked as ever. She had wanted to use a washroom before returning to Daisy's ward only for her to see this.

"I thought you are Daisy's boyfriend," she looked at Edward. Then she turned to Cindy, "...and you are Daisy's best friend."

Ellen was so shocked.

"Wait Daisy is even right there in the ward on a hospital bed but you're..." she was in so much disbelief.

Edward could feel the earth cracking. He tried to go forward to meet her.

"Honestly, you just have to listen to me and belief me," he said breathlessly and in fear. "I swear it's not what it seems. I can explain."

"Oh really?" Ellen muttered in awe as her eyes went from his face to his manhood still dangling outside his trousers. He had totally forgotten to keep that back in.

"Believe you with this? Is this some sick joke?"

She had clearly seen him in a compromising position with Cindy. He had just pulled out of Cindy, then Cindy tried to pull down her mini gown. He hasn't even kept back his penis yet.

And here he is saying he could explain. What more is there to explain?

Edward realising where her gaze was suddenly gasped in shock and realisation.

"Fuck shit," he cussed as he immediately began to tuck himself in.

"Fuck... fuck..."

"I swear I'm so sorry. Let's discuss this. Please don't tell her. Don't tell Daisy I beg you," Edward began to plead with her.

Cindy on the other hand stood by the side trembling with fear. Her blackmailing of Edward was baseless after all. There's no way she would want this to be found out by Daisy.

Besides, even though the Lady from the Coasters has refused to contact her till now, she never told her to let Daisy find out about her sleeping with her boyfriend. There probably are other plans.

Besides, she can't afford to let Daisy know. It would be bad.

Ellen looked a mixture of shock and disappointment, and then shaking her head, she left the washroom.

Once she left, it felt like a gust of wind suddenly blew in and swept past them causing an array of goosebumps.

Edward could feel every air on his body stand erect.

The air in the washroom suddenly seemed to grow even heavier, suffocating them more. Even it felt like the temperature had dropped to zero.

In that moment he turned towards Cindy, with anger in his eyes.

"Tell me this was your plan!"

Cindy was taken aback.

She stood upright and before she could say a word, his palm suddenly came landing heavily against her cheek sending her crashing to the floor.

Cindy was too shocked by the sudden slap that she did not get up immediately.

"Edward, you slapped me?!"

She went mad.

But without giving her audience, Edward stormed out of the ward. His eyes were red with anger and regret. He really did not want to lose Daisy. But he has been so stupid.

Outside, Edward did not know where to go. He did not know whether to leave the hospital or not.

There was no sign of Ellen anywhere when he stepped out and just the thought that she has gone to report what she saw was getting him scared out of his wits.

In the end, he pulled out his phone and sent her a text instead.

"Babe I'm so sorry, I got a call and suddenly have to attend to something. I'll see you later."

Following that, Edward left the ward and the hospital premises.

As for Cindy, she had come to see Daisy but now she has to also leave immediately.

Cindy drove along the road, her hands gripping the steering wheel tightly, her knuckles turning white with anxiety.

What transpired back in the hospital's washroom had left her in a state of fear and unease. And every creak and rustle outside the car seemed to amplify her nervousness, making her heart race.

Despite how driven by her bitterness and hatred for her friend to make her unhappy, also wanting to have Edward wrapped around her fingers, she does not really have the guts to let Daisy find out about her true self.

How much of an enemy she is. She does not want her to find out.

She really could not afford to let Daisy find out. At least not yet.

Maybe if the Lady from the Coasters gives her a go-ahead.

"Why the fuck has she not called me? Since all these while. Why why why?" Cindy shouted in frustration, hitting her palm on the steering wheel.

She felt horrible and frustrated.

Her eyes reddened and she felt upset.

"She isn't playing pranks on me, right? All these aren't some kind of game or trap, right?" She could not help but ask out loud.

The thought of this alone made her so upset and bitter deep down. She was getting angry and slowly, her hatred for Daisy kept growing.

She wished she could just kill her!

In the midst of her thoughts, anger, and bitterness, the sudden sound of her phone ringing startled her.

So she reached for her phone, and seeing it was Director Carlson, she picked up the call.

"Hello. Good morning Director Carlson," she greeted.

"Good morning Cindy," he replied.

"I don't know if you can come over now to Finn's media. I have an urgent commercial shoot for you. I don't know if you'll be available to..."

Cindy breathed out a heavy sigh hearing Carlson's request. On a normal day, she would immediately reject his request.

She is a person of pride after all and would not take any urgent job whatsoever. It must pass the appropriate channel or process of going through her manager and then scheduling and planning.

Carlson actually had doubts calling her too but he did not know who to. Most of the time, he'd rather call Daisy as Daisy is a really down-to-earth person. Or he'd call Rose.

But they both are in the hospital right now and the three have always been his preference. They are the most popular after all.

"Alright. I'll be there in a few minutes," Cindy replied and exhaled.

Carlson was a bit taken aback.

He was not actually expecting her to accept. In fact, he had low hopes when he called and only wanted to give asking her a try.

If only he knew she had just got caught having sex with her best friend's boyfriend and was just trying to run far away from her evil.

"Alright, thank you so much. Would be expecting you," Carlson replied.

Once the call dropped, Cindy dropped her phone and puffed out a great deal of air from her mouth before reviling and taking another lane. She would have to drive back to Finn's media as she wasn't initially driving there.
