Chapter 62: Chapter 62
Violet sprang up from the bed with shock written all over her face.
"No that's not possible Daisy," she then said and chuckled.
Daisy stared at her sister. Not knowing what to say she sighed.
"Wait seriously, you're not being serious right now, are you?" Violet was clearly flustered and astonished.
She was finding it difficult to believe what her sister had said.
"I mean you're actually saying the man you had an accident with that night is Wesley Maxwell? Australia's Wesley Maxwell? I mean not just Australia but the world's mysterious Wesley Maxwell?"
"You're raising your voice, Violet," Daisy panicked.
Violet had become so shocked she did not know she was raising her voice so she gasped.
"Oh I'm so sorry," then she immediately lowered back herself to sit beside Daisy.
"How did it even happen? I know that shit was a setup but how? I mean... With Wesley???"
Daisy sighed.
She wanted to explain some things to her that she had met this said Wesley, and they are planning to work together in fishing out the bad people soever. But she had made a promise to Wesley and she would stick to it.
"I'm going to investigate once I'm out of here," Daisy exhaled then looked at her sister who still had shock written all over her face.
"Yes you should," Violet replied with a sharp nod.
"I mean, I don't believe Wesley would do that. Set you up?"
"He doesn't seem like one that would do that but then how possible is it to set the two of you up together? I swear it does not make sense," Violet stated breathlessly.
"Yes I know it does not make sense," Daisy said with a tired sigh.
The two sisters reminded silent for a while each of them reminiscing in their thoughts.
After a while, Violet looked around and then back at her sister.
"Edward is not back yet?" She asked.
Daisy gave her a look. "I don't know. Did he go somewhere?" She asked.
"He went to take a call. It's been a while already so I'm just surprised he is not back yet. Anyways," she stated.
"Ohhhhh..."
That was Daisy's simple reply as she stared at the door of her ward as if wanting to see when Edward would walk in.
Violet started in the direction of her sister's gaze and could not help but roll her eyes.
She really does not like her sister's boyfriend anymore. Her initial suspicion and no trust for him had turned to dislike for him. But well, not like she's the one in the relationship.
Violet suddenly thought of Ellen not being back yet. Then she turned to Daisy.
"Ellen is an exclusive nurse, why does she keep having patients to attend to?" She asked Daisy curiously.
The latter looked at her with raised brows.
"An exclusive nurse?" She asked in surprise.
"Yes," Violet replied. "Dad requested an exclusive nurse and Ellen was appointed. He paid for her to always be by you and all so I'm surprised as to why she's always having patients to attend to."
"It did not occur to me last night before she left and I'm suddenly just realising it."
Daisy stared silently for a while.
'An exclusive nurse? Well, I was not aware.'
"I never knew she is an exclusive nurse. If she really is, she's actually not supposed to have other patients to attend to, at least for the period Dad paid for. It's supposed to be part of the agreement," Daisy said with a shrug.
"It's not a big deal. We can always ask her about it when she returns," Daisy added.
Violet also nodded at that and none of them thought much about it.
But then Daisy suddenly turned to her sister.
"Speaking of that, where's Dad?" She asked.
Violet froze slightly when she heard that, but she immediately turned to look at Daisy.
"He is at the company. He had to attend to some pressing issues," she lied.
"Really?" Daisy squinted her eyes trying to mark any form of lie. She had a feeling Violet was lying to her.
"I've not seen him since yesterday. Or even the day before yesterday," she said.
Violet sighed then shrugged.
"He should come over today. Trust me there's nothing."
"I haven't even asked if there's anything, Vee," Daisy's eyes widened as she looked at her sister.
"Seriously there's something. How bad is it that you won't tell me?" She sighed sadly.
"Please, Vee."
Following that, there was silence.
Violet really did not want to tell her sister that their doctor had gone missing right from the day he come over to check on her.
At least, till she's discharged from the hospital.
With a sigh, Violet turned to her sister and shook her head, "Believe me Daisy. There's nothing."
Daisy felt defeated. There clearly was something but Violet won't tell. She wondered how bad this is and she was beginning to panic.
"Did something go wrong in the company?" Daisy asked, her pleading eyes on her sister who looked away with a sigh.
"There's nothing wrong with the company, Daisy," she exhaled. "honestly. But it seems just won't believe me."
Returning her gaze back to her sister, she reached out and hold her hand.
"Daisy, there's nothing. Just focus on recovering and getting discharged, okay?"
"Of course," Daisy breathed out.
Now she really wanted to get discharged as early as possible.
There clearly is something but Violet had refused to tell her. She felt scared but what could she do if she doesn't get out of this hospital?
...
Outside Daisy's ward and the corridors seemed quiet. It was the early hours of the morning after all, and asides from that, this particular floor is for VIP patients.
But in one of the washrooms, were hushed whispers, humming and low moaning sounds.
Cindy had her head and arm on one of the zinc with Edward thrusting in and out of her from behind.
They were at it again.
Had Edward not gone out to take a call?
But now, here he was in the hospital's restroom, having sex again with Cindy.
Cindy had come over claiming to want to see Daisy. But she had called Edward out and lured him to a washroom.
He had become intoxicated by this girl which is not supposed to be.
They were so deep in it, carried away by their shameful act when suddenly the door knob turned at it was pushed open.
Edward's eyes widened and immediately, he pulled out of her as his heart flew to his throat.
Something exploded in his head.
'How the hell did I miss locking the door? How???'
But it was too late...
