Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Just by the side, the bathroom door opened and Violet walked out carrying a small bluish-purple fancy-like polythene bag. She had just spent long minutes doing her skincare routine in the bathroom.

Stepping out fully dressed and seeing Daisy awake, she smiled widely.

"You woke up quite early today Barbie."

Violet then walked over to a drawer and dropped the bag which contained her numerous skincare products.

Daisy was sitting up on the bed staring at her phone. She had not even said anything to reply to Violet's greeting, nor had she reacted like she normally do whenever Violet decides to call her Barbie.

Violet walked closer to Daisy. "Good morning sis," she greeted standing in front of Daisy who was sitting up on the bed.

She looked down at her sister and could not help but frown at how serious she was at whatever she was looking at on her phone.

"I'm sorry babe," Daisy muttered and finally raised her head from her phone. "I was just..." Then she trailed off looking back at her phone.

"Good morning Vee," Daisy finally reciprocated her greeting and Violet sighed.

"Are you fine Daisy?" She asked.

"I am. How was your night?"

"It was great though. How was your night too?" Violet asked as she slowly lowered herself to sit beside Daisy on the bed.

"It was okay too. I feel much better now."

All through, Daisy had her eyes glued to her phone and whatever she was checking out on it, spiking her sister's curiosity. Violet could not help but raise her brows in awe.

"Are you okay?" Violet asked surprised and a little displeased as to how her sister was replying to her. So she lowered her head and peeped at her sister's phone to see what Daisy was so engrossed in.

"Wesley Maxwell?" Violet asked in astonishment, seeing the figure right on whatever Daisy was reading and scrolling through.

"Why are you reading up news about Wesley Maxwell?" Violet asked.

Hearing that, Daisy raised up her head and Violet stared at her sister in astonishment. A complicated expression settled on Daisy's face.

'She even knows his name.'

"You know who this is?" Daisy asked.

"Yeah," she simply replied. She then drew nearer so they both were staring at the phone together.

"I actually don't know much about Wesley Maxwell, but I know he is the biggest and wealthiest business owner in Australia."

Hearing that Daisy looked at her sister still with that complicated expression.

"No you don't mean it," she sighed.

Feeling confused, Violet looked at her sister and nudged her head at the phone in her hand.

"Has what you're reading not told you anything like that?"

Daisy's face was contorted with surprise and astonishment. Then she sighed.

"It is actually, just that I'm finding it difficult to believe what I'm seeing here."

"And why is that?" Violet asked. "And why are you even interested in news about him?

"Wait, what do you know about Wesley Maxwell?" Daisy asked with a huff.

Not knowing why her sister was asking all these and interested in Wesley Maxwell, she shrugged.

"Well, just know three years ago, Wesley Maxwell was topping the charts of the richest and biggest businessmen and company owners. But then he had his name taken down but apparently, some statistics still claim he is the biggest as no company is yet to meet his companies' profit margin."

By the time Violet stopped talking Daisy was in a daze at all that she had just heard.

'Is this the man I mistakenly slept with on my anniversary night? How did this happen? Now this makes no sense.'

'Was he also set up? And if that is the case, how was I dragged into all these messes which only affected me?'

She could not help but recall the small girl that came to call her out that night, telling her Edward called for her.

Many things seemed confusing.

'If that guy is really the great and outstanding Williams Maxwell, then he really has got nothing to gain or lose doing something like that to me, so it can't be him. But then, whoever had set me up, there's no way they'd use a whole Wesley as the pawn.'

'How is that even possible?'

The more she thought about the whole situation, the more confused she was.

'I'll just wait till our first meeting then we talk things out. It's a good thing he has also been investigating some things and if he's that big, he should do a good job with whatever team he's using to investigate,' she thought.

Now thinking about the fact that they would be having a meeting, Daisy felt slightly nervous. She knows who he is now after all asides from the fact that they had sex accidentally.

'Or he isn't the Wesley Maxwell and only looks like him and bares the same name as him?'

She could not help glancing down at the picture boldly pasted on the article she was reading.

'It really is this guy. The same guy that had appeared in the hospital yesterday and I even offended.'

She then suddenly remembered why she had found his face familiar that morning. He looked like someone she had seen on the TV at one point or the other.

Daisy had gone through a few articles before Violet came out and Violet is quite right. Everything Violet had said were things she had already even read but she was pretty much doubting.

She had even seen more including things like his net worth and others.

Daisy shut her eyes feeling slightly overwhelmed. Not for anything but that she did not like the fact that she somehow got involved with him in such an awkward situation.

And maybe it's a good thing anyways that it turns out to be someone like him. Fishing out the real culprits would be nothing difficult as there is a strong personality that is involved in this case.

"I can't believe I've been talking to myself," she suddenly heard Violet say while shaking her and Daisy snapped out of her rivery.

She did not know she had zoned out and her sister had been talking to her all along!

"I'm so sorry Vee," Daisy sighed while raising her head to look up at her sister.

There was silence as the two looked at each other.

"Care to tell me why you're suddenly so interested in who Wesley Maxwell is?" Violet asked.

"Well it's fine if you don't want to," she said then exhaled.

Daisy breathed out a sigh.

She did not know if it was right if she told Violet but then she told her in the end.

"Whatever I'm going to say how must be between the two of us," Daisy stated with all seriousness and Violet blinked in surprise.

Her sister suddenly looked serious and she knew whatever she wanted to say is something as serious as hell.

"I'm serious here Vee. Not even your close friend, Edward or even Ellen," Daisy stated still as serious as the first.

"Talk to me Daisy," Violet said, placing her hand on her sister's as her expression also turned serious.

Daisy exhaled.

"The unknown man I accidentally slept with that night is Wesley Maxwell," she dropped the bombshell.

"Whaaaaaaaaat?!"
