Chapter 55: Chapter 55
Walking side by side, Ellen and Daisy returned back to the ward. All through the way, Daisy could not stop thinking of how she had shouted and accused Wesley.
She knew she was wrong and she truly admitted she wasn't supposed to jump to conclusions just like that.
"Don't think too much about it," Ellen tried to console her. "I feel he is a gentleman. Everyone would be upset if accused wrongly and all you have to do is to reach out to him and apologize. And that would be all."
Now Daisy felt pretty much grateful that she has his number. She did not want to tell Ellen about that to avoid raising unnecessary suspicions. After all, she was just trying to convince her earlier that she really was set up and even though Ellen seemed to believe, she would not want to do anything that'll now make her suspicious.
"I'd reach out to him," Daisy simply muttered.
'I'll unblock him and give him a call. I hope he forgives me. What's more, he seems sophisticated and intelligent and I think he might be of help, who knows...'
They got to the ward and Ellen pushed open the door for Daisy to walk in. Daisy thanked her and stepped into the empty ward.
She really did not want to come back here and could not wait to be outside once again, but then, she needs to be fully fine to be able to go out once again.
She was also expecting Violet to return at any moment as it's been about twenty minutes since she left to get her a change of clothes.
Now that she thought of it, she needed to tell her sister to go back to school. She would not let Violet keep on skipping classes on her behalf.
She did not know how many classes her sister has missed because of her but then, she would have to tell her to go back to class. She'll feel really bad if Violet keeps missing school.
Daisy got to her bed and sat down. Then slowly, she raised the sheets and tried to lie down. Seeing this, Ellen rushed to help her but she stopped her.
"No, thank you. I wanna do simple things like this myself," Daisy laughed and the other laughed with her too.
Now laying under the covers, Daisy looked around as her mind drifted back to Wesley.
She suddenly reached out to take her phone that had been laying on the stool beside her bed. But after picking up, she decided against what she planned to do.
She would give him a little more time to cool off from all that then give him a call. She felt by then, he'd at least not be as upset as earlier.
Following that, her mind drifted to her boyfriend. Now she began to wonder why she had not seen him yet.
'Why has he not come to see me?' she thought sadly.
She was not even thinking or all that bothered as to why Cindy had not also come either. She was more worried about her boyfriend not coming to see her.
She thought about that video and thought about him still feeling bad about her sleeping with another man.
'He probably does not love me as much anymore,' Daisy sighed sadly.
'He really does have every right to hate me '
But despite the fact that she was having such thoughts, she really could not bear it. The thought of Edward not loving her again or hating her scared her.
She did not want that.
'I'm really sorry, Eddy. It was not deliberate. I'm sorry I fell stupidly into such a trap.,' she sighed.
Then she made up her mind to apologize and reconcile with him once she is discharged.
Even if he believes she was set up, it still does not change the fact that she slept with another man and the world got to see it.
Daisy heard someone push open the door of the ward from outside and therefore raised her head to see who it was. The door opened to reveal Violet standing out there with a small bag.
As she stepped in, noticing her sister's eyes on her as she lay on the bed, Violet could not help but smile widely, then raised the bag in her hand.
"I've brought your change of clothes," Violet announced cheerfully, with a warm smile spreading across her lips. As her grin widened with delight, she approached Daisy's bedside, the bag dangling from her hand.
She had meticulously packed the bag with all the necessities Daisy would be needing for up to three days and Daisy's eyes sparkled with gratitude as she accepted the gesture.
Daisy watched Violet approach and she could not help but smile warmly and gratefully.
"Thank you, Vee," Daisy expressed, her voice filled with genuine appreciation as she reached out to touch the bag.
"You aren't too stressed, right?" Daisy asked while raising her head to stare guiltily at her sister.
Their eyes met, and Violet simply chuckled.
"Don't say that," she laughed. "I enjoy taking care of you. Just that I don't like you on this bed," the teenage girl murmured and this time, Daisy laughed.
"It's fine Violet," she chuckled. "I'll be out of this bed soon. Really sooner than you imagine."
"Oh really?" Violet's eyes beamed. "By that, you mean tomorrow, right?" She asked with a smirk and this time, Daisy laughed while eyeing.
"Go away," she laughed.
In that shared moment, they conveyed a profound bond. It could be said that they missed each other's company.
And then, Violet began bringing out the contents of the bag which she had picked out for her sister, to be sure Daisy was satisfied with them even though Daisy had told her there was no need for that. She insisted anyways, on Daisy checking out the kinds of stuff she got for her.
While doing that, Violet suddenly said, "Edward called me. He's on his way."
There is just something about the mention of that name that affects Daisy in various aspects.
Just that simple sentence had caused a sort of reaction all through her body. Daisy was beaming and even there was a sudden glow up on her face.
Violet looked at her sister and even though she was happy her sister looked happier, she just could not help but have a complicated feeling well up within her.
Ever since that day Edward told a lie to her dad right here, she had found him suspicious and there was just something about him that did not sit well with her even right from time.
She had even always felt his love for her sister was not genuine and also, she hates the fact that it took him days to stand up for her after what happened last week happened.
But unfortunately, her sister is in love with him and there's nothing she can do about it... It was rather upsetting to her but that is that.
She loves her sister. It's just that she does not like Edward and that's all, so she simply remained quiet and went on with rearranging the stuff back into the bag.
Bust just as if the heavens also wanted to ruin her mood, a knock sounded on the door.
Violet knew it would be Edward but what other choice does she have than to open the door and let her sister's boyfriend in?
With a small sigh, she stopped whatever she was arranging which the nurse immediately took over, and then walked towards the door.
Pulling open the door, there was Edward standing there just as she predicted, but this time, he was holding a bunch of flowers that it took her extra self-control not to roll her eyes at his appearance and that of the flowers.
Edward stepped into the ward, slightly nervous from guilt, even though he appeared all that calm from the outside. He then put on a smile and raised up his head to look at Daisy. their eyes met and there she was staring and smiling at him while sitting up.
Her smile was so innocent so sincere.
It only made the guilt he was feeling crawl harshly inside him
