Chapter 49: Chapter 49
In the blink of an eye, two days had passed.
While Daisy was still in the hospital recuperating, all Cindy does is wheel Rose around for tests, visit Daisy in the hospital, go to work and come back to repeat the same routine.
No date nights, no parties, no night outs, no clubbing nor hangouts. And it went on this way making her life seem routinely restricted.
She became frustrated and badly wished something could just happen to the two or they just die!
Things did not go as planned!
If not, things had suddenly swayed.
Just in a few days, Edward made that post, Daisy had become the talk of the netizens, positive things this time. Fans expressed their love for her, apologising for not trusting her initially and pledging how they would stand for her from now on. Feeling sorry for everything she went through.
They even praised and appreciated her friends, Cindy and Rose for being with her and standing with her despite everything.
Even Cindy had to make a post too, appreciating the netizens, also explaining the reason for Rose's silence for a while now that she had been involved in an accident.
This wasn't the plan. This wasn't what she wanted!
Director Carlson would not stop disturbing Cindy with calls and also disturbing her each time she went to the industry, since he could not reach Daisy and there was no way he can reach Mr Louis.
Anyways, Cindy has refused to listen to whatever he says, telling him he would have to talk to Daisy himself, but as it is, no one has been allowed to see her except for her boyfriend, sister, father and two friends, at least for now.
Many industries and even big entertainment industries have been trying to reach out to Daisy. They all were getting ready to hijack her once she gets better and step out of the hospital.
It was a real war and just like that, Daisy had become the most popular Artist in Australia and even abroad.
This isn't what Cindy Auston wanted and she so badly wished she could kill the two herself!
To make things worse, the Lady from the coasters had not reached out to her. She has not seen Richard either.
Now Cindy has become totally clueless about what is going on. She did not know what to do.
'Has this been a trap all along? To just push Daisy to the far front and I was stupidly the tool?' Cindy could not help but wonder as she gently maneuvered the wheelchair carrying Rose through the maze-like corridors of the hospital.
Cindy suddenly stopped at the realisation of what had just crossed her mind, making Rose look up at her.
'Wait. What?'
Then slowly, she chuckled and shook her head.
'That doesn't make sense anyways. There's no way a sane person would use such a technique,' she thought as she made to hold the wheel handle again. But then her mind could not help but race with the possibility of that.
'Have all these been Daisy's schemes all along? And now they'd wait for me to take one silly stupid action out of frustration then get me attested?'
This time her eyes widened in shock.
"Na it can't be," she muttered before she could stuff herself.
"What's that?" She suddenly heard Rose's light voice causing her to look down to see Rose looking up at her.
For a moment, Cindy froze. That's cause looking down at Rose, Rose looked different. Maybe it's because of the angle at which she was looking down at Rose or the way Rose raised up her head.
She just could not place it but there was just something odd.
First, it was her voice that now sounded lighter since she regained consciousness. Second, she noticed Rose looked smaller but Cindy immediately concluded she had lost weight as she's been unconscious for days without food and all.
Anyways, Cindy had been too busy feeling bitter to take note or bother about these changes.
Since Rose regained consciousness, she had not said much, and each time she speaks, she would only say not more than a five words sentence and even as that, there was an obvious change in her voice.
The doctor had said Rose was suffering from a concussion from the accident so she believed things would go back to normal when she's fine and free from whatever concussion.
"Ahhh... huhm nothing..," Cindy stammered while keeping her eyes on Rose's face.
"Okay," Rose replied before looking forward while still seated in the wheelchair.
Cindy's eyes narrowed and a complicated feeling welled up in her chest.
Even her temperament was noticeably odd and while Rose do have this slightly unapproachable, cold and bossy temperament, the current Rose looked way too gentle and lost.
'Why so much change?' Cindy sighed with a raised brow.
Well, she shrugged afterwards and continued wheeling Rose around.
'I put her in this state anyways,' Cindy thought. Following that, she quickly dismissed every one of her initial thoughts. They all seem like the attributing aftermath of an accident.
Together and silently, Cindy and Rose navigated the hospital's corridors.
The tires of Cindy's car hummed along the busy road, while her mind wandered through the labyrinth of her thoughts.
it was evening already and here she was, driving back home alone to retire for the day. But then, she suddenly thought of going over to Edward's.
Maybe going back there to sleep with Daisy's boyfriend again would not make her feel like the total loser that she is now.
Cindy's grip tightened on the steering wheel and with a smirk, she took a turn.
They already had sex twice and just the thought that she now has that guy wrapped around her finger made her finally let out a smile, a sly one.
Cindy deftly maneuvered the car, veering away from her initial route.
At Edward's villa, Edward was so surprised to see Cindy standing in front of his house door. He had heard the doorbell ring only to open up to see Cindy standing there.
They exchanged gazes and for a minute, they just stood there mute while staring at each other. While Edward was upset deep down that she was here again even though he tried to hide it, Cindy stood there staring at him slyly and shamelessly.
Up till now, Edward still hated himself for having sex with her in the hospital's restroom and right here in his house. It made him feel so guilty each time he goes over to see Daisy especially since she regained consciousness.
He just could no longer look at his girlfriend in the eyes each time he remembers what he did twice with Cindy.
"Why are you here again?" Edward asked with a sigh.
"Oh, you won't let me in?" Cindy scoffed loudly.
Breathing in deeply, he looked up at the girl in front of him pleadingly before saying, "Honestly I can't do anything tonight. I'm tired. Sincerely tired..."
"But I need you tonight," she caught him short and said haughtily.
While Edward stood by the door hesitating and feeling really reluctant, Cindy pushed the door and went straight in.
"I'm going to your bedroom, Edward. You should meet me now," she ordered once she stepped into his spacious living room.
"Actually, you can just use my bedroom. I don't mind staying here. I have some songs to work on besides," Edward in a bid to excuse himself from meeting her but Cindy who was initially going up the stairs paused when she heard all that.
Then she turned and shot him a look, glaring at him sharply.
"I didn't come here to use your bed, Edward," she scoffed.
"You know why I'm here. Come up and meet me."
"We've had sex twice. What's wrong with you?"
This time, Edward looked extremely bitter and displeased.
Suddenly feeling like she was being a little bit too harsh, bossy and disrespectful, she sighed and drew nearer to Edward who just stood there on the spot staring at her with an unpleasant expression.
Getting to him, she wrapped her arms around him while staring at him seductively, biting her lips provocatively too.
"Come on baby..." She drawled.
