Chapter 47: Chapter 47

The following day, in an opulent office bathed in the soft glow of ambient lighting, sitting behind the mahogany desk was Wesley eluding an air of power and authority.

There were a few files and documents neatly arranged on his desk, waiting for his attention but even still, he was patiently waiting for a few pieces of information.

Wesley's attention was abruptly drawn to the ringing of his phone. With a swift, yet controlled motion, he reached for the device and answers it.

Then waiting for the caller to speak first, he tapped his long, elegant fingers on the polished surface of his desk, his eyes scanning over the files and documents in front of him.

On the other end of the phone, a Croxxed X said, "I have a little information about GlassWare."

Glassware was the company the prime minister had his eyes on and was trying to take over. After that night's incident, Wesley had decided to mess with the company in a bid to punish the prime minister and teach him a lesson.

But now, issues regarding Daisy and Andrew's girlfriend had taken his attention.

Instead, Wesley breathed out a disappointed sigh.

He had thought the man had called regarding issues about Daisy.

"Andrew will handle Glassware," he muttered lowly in response.

"Any news about the actress?" He asked carelessly, his voice elegant and nonchalant, even though it was the other way deep down.

Wesley's fingers deftly flipped through the files before him as he waited for a response. And like that, the man began relaying every information that he had gathered regarding Daisy Louis till that moment.

News about her being unconscious in the hospital, the toxins in her body and all.

"Any news about the doctor yet?" Wesley asked.

"Nothing much yet. His name is Richard but we could not get more than that. We would keep investigating," the man replied on the other end.

Wesley breathed out a sigh. He is very well sure now that that doctor has a hand in Daisy's current mental health and all and his assumptions were he definitely is a team with whoever is against Daisy Louis.

If the current Rose is truly an impersonator, then she definitely is the one behind all these. He could not wait to get the results of the DNA test.

For now, he instructed his men to work harder and get Richard.

The call finally came to an end and Wesley hung up the phone, placing it back on the desk.

Leaning back in his chair, Wesley's gaze swept across the room, his thoughts weaving through different things.

He had neglected Glassware, which is supposed to be the real thing and concern, for issues regarding Daisy Louis

Even though he had promised himself not to bother himself about issues regarding the actress, he just couldn't take his eyes and mind off it.

She might get killed by these hidden people if he does nothing cause as it is, she's doing nothing to find out anything.

Daisy had blocked him. He is aware of that but then, he thought they should see and discuss this whole thing, maybe it'll speed up the process.

Or he sees her father instead.

For now, he'd leave the meeting with her till when she's back on her feet. Maybe in a week.

Wesley rose to his feet and strides across the office thinking deeply.

He had decided to push issues regarding Glassware to Andrew but then, since he had decided on them working together, they should completely work together.

They were still yet to discuss things as Andrew had left the office a few minutes ago.

They would properly discuss fully when he returns.

Walking back to his desk, Wesley picked back his phone and sent a message to the Croxxed X who just called him.

"Email every info you have about GlassWare."

Handling his company, alongside Glassware and Daisy's case isn't too much for a prominent and hardworking billionaire like him.

What's more, with Andrew working with him, it's literarily nothing.

Just when he would drop his phone, he received a text.

The DNA result was out!

In the hushed atmosphere of the hospital room, the steady beeping of the heart monitor served as a backdrop to the silence in the ward.

It's been a few days already since Rose's accident and she's been unconscious ever since.

Cindy's eyes remain fixed on Rose's motionless figure many thoughts running through her mind. She had been that way since the early hours of the morning and the nurses who passed by from time to time could not help but be in awe at how caring of a friend Cindy is.

If only they know her thoughts or find out Cindy is the reason Rose is lying on that bed unconscious in the first place.

The lady from the Coasters was yet to give her a call yet and with every passing hour, Cindy grew more and more restless.

Causing an accident for Rose no longer even made sense. She was trying to prevent her from seeing Edward and getting him to make any post but Edward had ended up making the post anyways.

Now, Daisy was being sympathised with on the internet and even Finn's media had contacted Cindy severally since they could not reach Daisy and director Carlson was too scared to contact Mr Louis.

Cindy only felt hatred and bitterness in her heart.

The plan was to get Daisy in the specks of dust and pull Rose down afterwards.

Suddenly, Rose's lashes fluttered.

Even though Cindy was staring directly at her like she did not want to miss when Rose would open her eyes, her mind had strayed far away that she was no longer aware of her surroundings.

Rose's eyelashes began to flutter continuously and the heart monitor suddenly quickened its pace in response.

This finally caught Cindy's attention and her breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening with a mix of astonishment.

No one had informed her that Rose would regain consciousness today.

Cindy leaned closer and whispered, "Rose?"

And slowly, Rose's eyes began to open, revealing pools of colour that have long been dormant.

The world came into focus, shapes and shadows forming a tapestry of familiar surroundings, confusion lingering in her gaze

Cindy, seeing this immediately switched to an exciting mode which is actually as pretentious as ever.

With her voice trembling, she began to exclaim softly, "Rose, you're awake."

Rose blinking away the remnants of slumber settled her gaze on Cindy.

Her lips parted, her voice a mere whisper as she struggled to find her words.

"What happened?" she managed to utter.

Cindy, taking a deep breath, with her eyes brimming with fake tears threatening to spill over reached out and gently grasped Rose's hand.

"You had an accident," she explained.

"Do you remember?"

"You're awake now. I'm so happy!"

Cindy's eyes darted to the door, then back at Rose before she excitedly tell her, "Stay right here, Rose. I'm going to get the doctor."

That being said, Cindy let go of Rose and swiftly left the room immediately navigating the hospital corridors, in search of the medical professionals.

In a secluded corner along the hospital corridor, a female nurse carefully observed Cindy as she swiftly made her way through till she was out of sight.

Immediately, she reached for her phone, her nimble fingers dancing across the screen to compose a concise private message which read, "Rose is awake."

Which she then sent out.

Meanwhile, in a hidden unknown location, the lady of the coasters sat on a rock with Richard standing in front of her.

It was a spot people don't take and right here, she wasn't on her mask.

As the seconds ticked by, Richard's phone emitted a distinct beep, drawing their attention, following which Richard proceeded to check what it was about.

For the lady, she plucked a cigarette from her pocket, deftly lighting it and allowing tendrils of smoke to weave their way through the air.

"Rose is awake," Richard suddenly read out the content of the message with a smirk at the corners of his lips.

Catching the wind of his words, a secretive smile played at the corners of his lips. A mischievous glint danced in her eyes as she also murmured, "Rose is awake."

"She's the one being suspected now after all," the lady added.
