Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Wesley, sitting comfortably in his office, his eyes fixed on his phone screen, read through the news articles and the hate-filled comments that accompanied them. Unknown to him, his expression shifted from time to time, reflecting the range of emotions he was feeling at that moment.

At first, he seemed calm and collected, his eyes scanning through the words on the screen with ease. But as he read deeper into the comments section, a slight look of frustration and anger crept onto his face. His brows furrowed, and his lips pressed tightly together as he read particularly venomous comments.

"Weren't these people her fans? Did they not used to be her fans?" he could not help but mutter as he asked no one in particular. Now that she made a mistake even though they're oblivious to the fact that she was set up, did it still have to get to this?

Suddenly realising something, his eyes narrowed with a mix of disbelief and disgust, and he shook his head in disapproval.

'Can these whole internet messes possibly be from whoever set her up or trying to bring her down?'

Since he had started an investigation on Rose, he decided he would hold on to the DNA test before taking any other step.

For now, he thought he would contact Daisy and see her. He is also involved in this case after all and he wouldn't be a man if he leaves her to face all these alone.

He thought that way even though the main reason was cause he wanted to feel calm about the fact that he was involving himself way too much in other people's affairs.

After using the office landline to call his female secretary over, he sat there looking like a Greek god while he waited.

He has sharp features making him undeniably handsome, with a chiselled jawline and piercing blue eyes that shone with intelligence and intensity. His dark hair was styled neatly, and his tailored suit hinted at a successful career.

When the dark-skinned secretary walked in, Wesley immediately instructed, "Contact Finn's media and get Daisy Louis' contact info for me."

"No one should know it's from me," he immediately added.

"But she's just got blacklisted this morning," the secretary was baffled only to be met with Wesley's icy gaze.

"I'll get it right now," she immediately said turned and scurried away.

Wesley could not help but scoff. Of course, he had seen the news already. But she got blacklisted doesn't mean they already had her data deleted from their database.

As Edward was initially not far away, he soon got to the coffee shop that Andrew had sent its address. Initially, Edward was worried as he did not want to make any public appearances due to the recent happenings, at least for now. But when he walked into the coffee shop, he was surprised to find it empty. There was only a young man sitting behind a table and looking towards his direction with a smug. What's more, there was a playful look in his eyes and he could see this young man was mocking him.

But then, Andrew had rented out the place in advance, at least to hide Edward's cover. He knew he is a celebrity and what Andrew do could be termed thoughtful yet surprising.

Now, Edward could comfortably take off his mask before approaching the table and walking up to Andrew. He still felt a twinge of anxiety but even at that, he felt more at ease knowing it would be just the two of them.

But looking back at Andrew and seeing that smug on his lips, he suddenly felt a rush of emotions and he suddenly became pissed.

Edward scoffed and looked at Andrew who wouldn't stop looking at him smugly, he blurted out with a sneer, "Who are you and what the fuck, how do you know all that?"

Edward stood in front of Andrew, his face twisted in confusion. 'How could this stranger know so much about him? And why was he confronting him?'

He could not help but wonder what this stranger wanted.

With anger in his eyes, Edward stated, "Since you said I don't need to know your name, then that means we won't be interacting for long. So what do you want and what are all these for?"

"Or wait," Edward suddenly pulled out a chair and sat down facing Andrew and not for once dropping that confused angry expression, he demanded, "Who are you?"

"And what the fuck, how do you know all that?" Edward asked, his voice low and menacing. "Are you from Queensland? Mungallala? Since when or for how many years have you been monitoring me?"

Andrew simply ignored him and went on sipping his coffee, a small smirk playing at the corner of his lips. He seemed to be enjoying Edward's discomfort. "Does it matter who I am?" Andrew replied coolly. "What matters is what you've been up to."

"Besides," Andrew continued still holding up his cup of hot coffee.

"I called you out. I should be the one doing the talking but since you like running your mouth so much, I'll just wait till you're done," Andrew completed with a smirk, obviously enjoying the way Edward's face turned ashen.

Edward felt his cheeks flush with embarrassment and shame.

"Okay, what do you want?" Being at his wit's end, Edward could only ask in a low meek voice.

"Wait, she sent you? Thelma sent you to me, isn't it" Edward blurted out, desperation creeping into his voice but Andrew mercilessly replied, "I'll talk when I want to."

Edward went silent when he heard that and he could not help the bitter feeling in his belle.

For the first in a very long time, he thought of Thelma.

They had never officially broken up. He had simply stopped talking to her cause Daisy loved him and he also fell for Daisy along the line. Besides, he had never heard from her or the past years and he thought she had moved on, after all, she had always been an easygoing person.

Now, he could not help but wonder what Andrew meant by 'his ex might be a nuisance.'

His ex? Thelma?

Thelma that he had long ago forgotten about?

As Edward was growing impatient from watching an unknown man drunk coffee, he could not help but ask angrily, "Then what exactly do you mean by the statement you said to me over the phone? My ex? Being a nuisance?"

"You rushed over here cause you were scared. And yeah, you know there is an ex that can be a nuisance," Andrew replied with a sidelong glance.

"She sent you?" Edward could not wrap his head around what exactly this strange man wanted from him so he could only ask that.

Andrew finally finished his coffee and then set the empty cup down, his expression turned cold.

"In actual fact, I'm not here on anyone's behalf," he said firmly. "I just think it's time you faced up to your actions."

Edward felt a surge of anger at Andrew's self-righteous tone. Who was this guy to judge him?

"And what gives you the right to judge me and meddle in my life and affairs?" Edward spat. "You know nothing!"
