Chapter 33: Chapter 33
In Australia's National Assembly Room was a political meeting going on. It is a large Imposing space with high ceilings and elegant decor with the walls panelled in dark wood, with large, ornate windows that let in natural light.
The large room had a long, polished table adorned with microphones, pens, and notepads, surrounded by high-backed chairs, giving it a regal and formal appearance. On these highbacked chairs were men of authority in Australia. Political men of authority. James Johnson the prime minister was sitting on the head seat, the sit typically reserved for the highest-ranking official or the host of the meeting.
There is also a large projector in the room. The room is also equipped with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate communication and decision-making among these country's leaders.
Overall, the National Assembly Room exuded power, and sophistication, befitting the high-level discussions and decisions that normally take place within the walls.
James Johnson, the prime minister is known as one of the wealthiest men in Australia and despite that, a man like Wesley happened to be a nightmare. As Wesley is one of the unknown most powerful men in Australia.
In the conference hall political meeting, James Johnson, listened intently as his advisors discussed the current state of affairs in Australia. He watched them project some important things. They touched on a range of topics, from the economy to national security.
But as the discussion wore on, James began to feel increasingly tired and drained. After all, he is a middle-aged man who is also diabetic and needs regular checkups from time to time. He found it difficult to concentrate on what was being said and had to fight to keep his eyes open. Despite this, he tried his best to maintain a professional demeanour and contribute to the conversation.
Eventually, the meeting came to an end, and James was able to leave the room. He couldn't wait to retreat to his office for some much-needed rest.
James exited the political meeting, and he couldn't help but feel drained. The constant debates and discussions had taken a lot out of him, and he was eager to retreat to his office for some much-needed rest.
However, as he stepped into his office, he was surprised to find his personal doctor waiting for him.
"Doctor, what are you doing here?" James asked, confusion evident in his voice. "I thought we had scheduled my check-up for next week. In fact, isn't my checkup supposed to be next week?"
Even though he was of age, he still hated syringes.
The doctor smiled.
"I apologize for the confusion, Mr. Prime Minister. However, I have some urgent news regarding your health. I discovered some drugs that might permanently cure your diabetes but I have to do some tests to see if you can go on with such treatment."
When James heard this, his eyes widened in shock and excitement. 'Does this mean I might be free from diabetes?'
He was not a medical practitioner and could not figure out if there was anything wrong with the doctor's statement.
Also, the doctor handed him a chart, and showed Jane's while he said, "Even asides from that, your check-up is today."
"Ohhh..." James muttered oblivious to the fact that the chart had been tampered with.
His checkup is actually for next week and the doctor did not discover any drug anywhere.
Wesley had bought off even James' personal doctor. And that's what James gets for messing with Wesley.
James looked at the chart, trying to make sense of the numbers and medical jargon.
In the end, he gave up trying to check and gave the doctor a go-ahead look.
James is actually a very vigilant man even at his age, but even he can't always be able to pick out wrongs. Besides, he trusts his personal doctor.
Following that, the doctor took out a syringe and proceeded to draw a sample of James' blood while the latter grunted in pain.
Afterwards, he carried out some tests and noted down a few things before administering drugs to James.
While James took his drugs, the doctor sat and waited for him to doze off. Some of the drugs contained sleeping pills.
When Wesley had asked him to get a blood sample of the prime minister, he figured out it probably was for a DNA test. He had asked if Wesley wanted a few strands of his hair and even though Wesley did not reply, it had confirmed his suspicions. Therefore he decided to do more and get even James' hair.
The doctor has his goal of easily helping Wesley and Wesley also feels suspicious of him therefore, he instructed one of his men which he had planted among James' men to keep an eye on him.
Soon, Wesley received a call from this mole.
"He did it already. He even took a few of James' hair," the mole said to Wesley through the phone.
"Go after him and take them from him. I don't want James to find out I'm carrying out an investigation on his illegitimate daughter. I don't want to alert her in any way," Wesley instructed.
Once the call dropped, he called another mole and using their own strange sign language, he instructed him to tamper with the CCTV camera for a few minutes while he left the post he was in.
They were about seven moles among Tigera, James' underground men.
The doctor after leaving the office entered the elevator and just when the door closed, it reopened.
Wondering who had pressed the button and did not enter, he was going to peep when he heard a rustling sound behind him. The doctor turned and the next thing he felt was a syringe being pierced into his neck.
He gasped while his eyes widened in shock. He struggled to keep his eyes open but couldn't for even two seconds. He blacked out almost immediately.
The mole stepped into the elevator and took the blood and hair in the drug sealer nylon the doctor had kept it. While the elevator went down, the mole stopped at the next floor, got out immediately leaving the doctor in there and unconscious.
After a while, he passed the stuff to another mole before getting back to his duty post undetected.
All these happened in the space of about five minutes.
As for the doctor, the stuff would only make him pass out for a few minutes and he would regain consciousness soon.
Once Wesley got the samples for James, he sent both blood over to their private family hospital for a DNA test then sent the hair to one of his friends who owns a lab.
Both DNA results would be out in two days. Then he would know if Rose has been impersonated. That way, he would be able to investigate what exactly is going on in that cycle.
After that, he would deal with the prime minister for he has not forgotten how the latter had set him up with that actress.
Thinking about that, his mind suddenly went to Daisy.
'Isn't she the one currently being bashed by almost everyone on the internet?' he thought.
'How is she doing?'
He did not know why he was suddenly bothered about her but after bringing out his phone and scrolling for a while through posts and news articles regarding her, he felt the need to meet with her. After all, he was also involved in this case even though it is not known to the public.
