Chapter 30: Chapter 30
Wesley sat behind his sleek mahogany desk, the light from his computer casting a soft glow on his chiselled features. He had been working late into the evening, his mind consumed with numbers and spreadsheets. It was then that he heard the familiar "ping" of a new email arriving in his inbox.
As he opened the message, a small smile formed on his face which disappeared almost immediately it came. The information he had been waiting for all day had finally arrived. He wasn't in a haste to open or read what the message entails, after all, he would be dissecting and investigating soon. He trusts his men, the Croxxed X to deliver accurate information.
All through the afternoon since Andrew left to see Sarah, he had a few Croxxed X keep an eye on him in a bid to protect him. And he had been keeping tabs on him ever since.
When Sarah left, Wesley was informed immediately. And even though Andrew had decided to just sit still in the coffee shop for over two hours, he had instructed his men not to disturb him but simply keep an eye on him. He knew Andrew needed space. He was broken. Sarah had broken him and seems like he would take some time to heal.
As Wesley's eyes scanned the contents of the mail, a smirk appeared on his lips and his eyes seemed to dance in excitement. After all, right from time, he had always enjoyed cracking cases and he is known to be the master of such games.
Now let's see what Rose Johnson is and if there's any relationship between her and the prime minister as he had suspected.
With a newfound energy, Wesley picked up his phone, leapt from his chair and strode confidently across his office, his tailored suit moving with him like a second skin. The city skyline glittered in the distance, but the young CEO hardly noticed. His mind was consumed with the possibilities that lay ahead. This case would be fun and he would be ready to crack it.
Should there be any connection between Sarah and this Rose Johnson, then he would love to unlock the hidden parts too.
In truth, he has no interest connected to issues related to celebrities, but this has to do with his brother Andrew and his girlfriend. So he would make it fun and find the hidden shackles.
Now, with his phone in hand, he unlocked it and went straight to his mail. He thought it would be more fun going through the content with his phone.
Earlier, Cindy had stepped out of the house and into the blistering heat her heart racing with anticipation. She knew exactly what she wanted to do, and nothing was going to stop her.
With her striking and innocent-looking beauty and deceptive smile, she was able to conceal her diabolical mind. She had always been good at getting what she wanted, and this was no exception. She had a sunshade on making it difficult to mark her face.
She made her way to the part of town, where she knew she could get an unregulated SIM card without anyone asking any questions. The streets were bustling with activity, while Cindy was focused on her mission which is stopping Rose from meeting with Edward by getting her into an accident.
Once she had the SIM card in hand, Cindy quickly dialled the number of the hoodlum the gigolo from the restaurant had connected her to. He answered on the first ring and she immediately gave him the instructions he needed, which was tracking down Rose and running into her with a motorcycle, and the thug promised to get the job done.
An hour later, Cindy was beginning to grow restless. The plan isn’t to get Rose killed but to only stop her from getting Edward to help Daisy. She could not stand the sight of Daisy ever getting back on her feet. Besides, she had promised herself that that would never happen. Maybe this would keep Rose in one place for months and stop her from butting into others' business.
She knew that her plan was risky, but that was the only thing she could think of and she was confident that it would work. Finally, she received the call she had been waiting for. The hoodlum had located Rose and was ready to make his move. He even sent pictures and videos of the car Rose is in.
She had instructed the hoodlum to make it look like an accident, and he did not disappoint. Rose was driving down the road, lost in her own thoughts when a motorcycle suddenly came out of nowhere and crashed into her.
Outside under a shed, Cindy sat tensely, her phone in hand, expecting the hoodlum to probably call but he didn’t.
‘He probably got injured too,’ she began to wonder.
After what seemed like forever, her phone rang and it was Rose calling. Apparently, at a hospital not too far away, they were using Rose’s phone to call her as Rose had been rushed to their hospital. For some reason, her heart sank as she heard the news.
She had started the plan and plotted it. But deep down, she still felt bad. They all used to be friends, really good friends.
She felt torn but a wide smile appeared on her face. It was obvious the satisfaction of achieving her goal and being able to successfully stop Rose had completely overridden the guilt of causing her friend's accident.
With a wide smile, she left the shed for her car so she could go straight to the hospital. She would have to compose herself and look bereaved before getting to the hospital where Daisy is.
No, she would rush there and run into the hospital with tears all over her face. She is an actress after all so that would be as easy as chips.
It was obvious she had totally forgotten she left Daisy all alone in the house. Not like she cared.
Wesley stared at his phone in awe, really surprised at his findings. He had only just suspected there could be a connection between Rose and the prime minister. He had only suspected their surnames but never really thought he would find any dots between Rose Johnson and James Johnson, the prime minister. And now, he had finally stumbled upon something that could be the key to some mystery.
But then, there were some important facts the emails contained, some really suspicious things about Rose. Wesley's confusion grew to find out in detail that there were way too many differences between the past Rose compared to the current Rose.
Rose used to be a science student, so how had she suddenly become an actress?
This was just one out of so many. Wesley was surprised and realised there was one more thing he needed to find out, like if there was any form of connection between Sarah and Rose. In fact, there are far too many things to find out now.
As Wesley pondered on so many things and questions, his mind began to race with possibilities. Was there an impersonation going on? Had someone else taken on Rose's identity? He knew he didn't have strong evidence against Rose, but this new information just made everything start to make sense.
He would get to the bottom of this?
Why?
This had to do with Andrew and his woman, also some other weird stuff he was beginning to find interesting. Now he was curious and decided to take on this game.
Just at the end of the mail, Wesley found out that GlassWare is a company Rose took over this year. One of the few pieces of information the media does not know about Rose. He was stunned for a few seconds before he chuckled next.
“Oh wow, this just got more interesting than I thought,” he muttered.
